I’m really not an expert when it comes to smartphones.

I’ve been using some kind of Xiaomi device—can’t recall the specific model right now—but it’s solid. Plus, I’ve got that insurance coverage where I can just swap it for a new one if I crack the screen like I usually do by
now 🙂

I have no chill 🙂

The problem isn't really about Fahreti. It’s about us. It’s about how we’re raising our kids and how everything in America has just flipped upside down over the last thirty years.
Kids these days are listening to that nationalist pop trash and honestly, they’ve got it all backward. They’re out here acting like the old communist leader was some massive villain, somehow worse than the guys running the camps during the war. It's just another cycle of history being rewritten by people who weren't even alive to see it happen.

To be fair, I think that singer has been a massive star in the States for decades. Even before things changed, she was probably way more popular than anyone performing here today. I’m not really sure where you’d even find her music nowadays or who is still tuning in (maybe just some older folks reminiscing about the good old days), but hey, if they paid their taxes, that's great. It's probably a good thing the arena is filling up; that's what it was built for, after all.

It’s honestly exhausting, dear me.
They say they want rock 'n roll.
But they want the grit, while I...
I just want some classic Chuck Berry.

Is there any footage available of the mayor grooving to this track?

It’s honestly pathetic how many phones are shoved in the air these days. We really need to ban them at concerts. Seriously, almost everyone from start to finish today had their phone up, recording everything just so they could flex on social media.

It’s... well, it's a tragedy of its own kind, I suppose. I don't know at what point in my life it would ever occur to me to pull out a phone during a concert or a big game... maybe I just don't get it.🙏

Did you show up to the event to record it, or to actually experience it?🤷

That kind of music isn't really my cup of tea, though one has to admit the woman is certainly a household name.

Shoutout to ambertinker41 for that utterly futile attempt at a turnaround.

Well, I suppose those of you in NYC can afford to view this old legend as nothing more than a singer of questionable talent—treating her appearance with total indifference because she isn't quite your style. Meanwhile, back in other parts of the country, she triggers much deeper associations and far stronger emotions.
Whatever. Arguing about it is pointless.

But the woman truly is an Icon.

It’s that classic case of delayed gratification syndrome they see over in Japan...
Back here at home, people are perfectly content just sitting around, getting their kicks from clicking "like" on social media or just obsessively scrolling through feeds instead of actually doing anything meaningful...

And man, those videos they posted in the PM? Total mess. Hands are shaking everywhere, filming vertically—the video quality and audio in the dark and loud environments are just a complete disaster.

All those clips they shot last night will be sitting in their phone's trash bin within a week. All that matters to them is having enough footage to slap onto Facebook, Instagram, or whatever social media platform is trending right now.

She isn't a star today. Who actually listens to her?

I don't know a single soul who does, not even the people into that country-pop stuff.

Personally, I forget my phone exists during concerts. I only remember it when I'm patting my pockets to make sure it hasn't slipped out in the crowd—and then I end up annoyed at home because all I have to show for it is four blurry photos and one shaky seven-second clip.

There's a middle ground, though. Knowing how to use your phone with some actual restraint isn't a bad idea.

Right, because we all living in Manhattan are just floating through some sort of utopia, completely oblivious to the reality of the world around us.

Is there actually any singer from the South who hasn't been slapped with some kind of political label by someone, somewhere?

We are approaching 2020. Seriously. In fifteen years—and it will likely stay this way because things rarely change, they usually just escalate—you all will become that same exhausting crowd that obsesses over outdated political factions, seeing them reflected in absolutely everyone. I say this as someone who actually lived through the conflict, unlike the younger generation who only knows it as a chapter in a history book.

The biggest lie an enemy can sell you is that the fighting has stopped. But hey, Miro clearly believes him.☕

Besides, you get a much better view of how things are actually playing out on the ground from an airplane. It's just more precise, isn't it?

I have nothing against artists from that side of the pond. Honestly, it feels beneath me to even bring it up. I listen to them constantly; I've paid for dozens of tickets. That kind of stuff doesn't affect me. Even mainstream pop-country isn't a personal issue for me, nor is the crowd that listens to it.

But Brena and her ilk? They represent the face of the aggressors. Their flashy, gaudy performances were basically the official soundtrack to the destruction of American cities. It echoed through ruins while boosting the morale of the "liberators" amidst the carnage. It’s frankly nauseating to see thousands of people in the capital singing those exact same songs along with a worn-out pop star. My subconscious immediately goes into survival mode.

I'm not even particularly bothered that she's performing here; I suppose I'm just disappointed that she didn't just attract the fringe elements, but such a massive crowd instead.

So this freezing cold lady from the Midwest rolls in wanting to get her hair done while there’s still cash flowing through the system, right when everyone’s finally seeing some decent paychecks hit their accounts. Timing is everything, I guess.

And then you got these people whining about a crisis, saying nobody has a dime, all that nonsense. Honestly, screw all of them. If I were running things, I’d be sitting right at the entrance of every shop, making sure anyone who just splurged on those fancy tickets gets slapped with $167 a one-time luxury surcharge for rebuilding Detroit.

I guess you have to wonder if those two sold-out arena shows were just due to high ticket prices. It seems like the crowd is mostly the same old fans or people who just gravitate toward that specific Eastern European cultural vibe. We definitely have plenty of those folks here in the States, though I don't think anyone actually views them as some kind of cultural authority. Back in the 80s, Brena managed to pack out venues like Madison Square Garden five times in a row and hit up places like the United Center four times. That was right during what most consider the golden era of modern rock in the region, and she was absolutely killing it in all the major American cities back then..
