What even is LN2?

Liquid nitrogen, (the ultimate cooling agent😁)

I really have to share this because I just received my unopened processor for $333 and honestly, it’s performing even better than the E6850 😲 which is just absolutely wild... 😲 😲 ...

Steve... any word on that answer yet?👍

They’ve got some LN2 over at Selk, so if you happen to know anyone with the right connections who could swing by and grab a few liters for you 😁 😁 😁

What are you guys actually working with here?

No, it’s not even that I need it, it’s just that I’d probably get way too carried away with all this nonsense, and besides, the motherboard can't push past a 455MHz FSB anyway... so there isn't much point in trying...

But hey, steelsailor3, we could definitely push that E6300 of yours pretty far if we got some LN2 involved...😁 😁 😁

Yeah, but definitely not with my motherboard.
The KingMax is sitting at 940MHz @ 2.0V right now.
My E6300 hits 2.2GHz @ 1.35V easily, and I know it could push even harder if I wanted to, but I’m really not looking to stress it out or anything.
I should probably have an HD3870 arriving sometime next week 🙂 🙂 🙂

By the way, do you happen to know what kind of headroom I'd actually get with an Abit FP-IN9?

The motherboard's range sits somewhere between 380 and 500MHz FSB, though I can't give you a definitive number right now... if I had to make a guess, I’d say you’re looking at roughly 420 MHz.

Once you manage to get your hands on one of those 6th series processors with a higher multiplier... then you'll be able to pinpoint that absolute maximum FSB limit. You might even have some luck pushing an E6300 if you crank the FSB voltage all the way up, set the multiplier to 6x, and bump the CPU voltage to 1.5V... and just see how far it carries you... but honestly, it would be much easier to gauge things using something like my E6700, which hits a wall right at 550, whereas with an E6300, you really never know where the ceiling is...

wiredmarlin5, that chip just isn't up to your standards—sorry...
I was pushing that processor to 4.2 GHz back when you were still stuck at 2.8 GHz with your E6300... sorry, but it's just the truth...
Go ahead and try to overclock it to 5 GHz now if you want; I’ll be keeping mine at a steady 3.0 GHz... but honestly? I'm still the winner here—it's just not even close... sorry man...

Go ahead and try to overclock yours to 5 GHz if you want, but I’ll be sitting pretty right here at 3.0 GHz... I mean, forgive me, but I still feel like the undisputed winner in this little rivalry... it's just one of those things... sorry man.....

That doesn't mean much if you don't have the validation scores to prove it. By the way, my E6700 is going to outpace yours regardless of what kind of heavy machinery your dad owns😁

You really ought to check the stepping on that CPU, because if it's like mine... well, you're in great shape, but if it's a different revision, you might be in for a bit of a disappointment...

And besides, I used to run a Core i7-13700K 😉

Take a look at a few of my previous posts—I’ve already given you plenty of validation...
I’m not going to bluff my way through this when I’m not even sure myself... You know overclocking isn't really my specialty—you could embarrass me before I even realize what happened—so I stay quiet... you know that too. Honestly, it was just fun having my own processor back when nobody else had one—that's all there was to it—but that's out of style now anyway. I can't accurately judge its overclocking potential, so I’ve given up on it.
But listen—if that thing runs rock-solid at 4.2/4.3 GHz for three days straight at room temperature, I will hand over my own CPU to you on the spot—just give me any old Core 2 Duo in exchange so I'm not left without a computer... there—that's my offer.

You know damn well what kind of motherboard and cooling setup I used to pull that off!
And don't even get me started on the power supply...

Mike, I’m just pulling your leg a little bit, so please don't be mad at me, my friend... I am actually heading to bed now, and tomorrow I have a massive trek through the wilderness planned! 🙂

Go ahead—keep going... I’m just messing around here, while you’re clearly out to get me...
Fine, keep talking... it’s not like it matters—I was rocking an E6700 long before any of you were even crawling along on Pentiums...
Sorry, but you're just being difficult for the sake of it...
Look, I’ll tell you what—if you can actually prove me wrong, I’ll give you my E6700 myself...

But honestly, there’s just no point in trying to push an E6700 any further...
I'm going to go ahead and reset my BIOS—just let it run on the defaults for now—since it’s performing perfectly fine as it is...

I'm heading out too... goodnight everyone...

I have to say, I respectfully disagree with you on this one... I just don't think that's quite how the situation stands!

Bryan Wood49 said:Oh, go on then... you just keep going... I’m over here just having a bit of harmless fun and being a little silly, while you seem intent on being nothing but pure, unadulterated spite...
Oh, come on now... I mean, let’s be honest here, I was already rocking an E6700 back when the rest of you were still struggling to get anything done on those old Pentiums...
Honestly, I feel like you’re just being difficult for the sake of it at this point...
I told you, I really did... if you can actually prove me right on this one, I’ll hand over my Core i7-13700K to you without a second thought...

Why even go there right now? I mean, I wasn't trying to be malicious or anything, truly, but I don't think you actually implemented the validation part yet... you can say whatever you like about the logic, of course, but I haven't actually seen it in action myself...
So you're telling me you actually had an E6700 while we were all stuck grinding away on those old Pentiums?? Well, look, my friend, honestly... it isn't exactly a crime to be without a high-end processor... though it certainly makes life a bit more interesting, doesn't it... $1167 Look, if you're just using a rig like this to stream some MP3s or watch adult content, or whatever else falls under that umbrella... well, honestly, it’s total overkill. I mean, what am I even trying to prove here? It's not like I'm out of my mind and looking to go out and fry my hardware... there are just certain fundamental rules of computing you have to respect, and you really shouldn't act naive or try to push things past their limits just to see what happens. Why on earth would I want to abuse a machine like this? I'm certainly not crazy enough to throw money down the drain for a measly one percent increase in performance every month... it just doesn't make sense...

Bryan Wood49 said:I was actually pushing that specific processor all the way up to 4.2 GHz back in the day, while you were still sitting there with that 6300 clocked at a mere 2.8 GHz... I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that’s just the cold, hard truth of it...

I mean, I’m really struggling to see how any of this actually connects to the point... if you ask me, you're just rambling on at this point... 😉

Bryan Wood49 said:Go ahead and push him all the way up to 5 GHz if you really want to... I think I’ll just keep mine sitting comfortably at 3.0 GHz... but hey, forgive me... I still feel like the moral victor here... I mean... it's just not right... sorry man...

Honestly, you really are the absolute best, most wonderful, most perfect forum member ever... if you can just overlook the fact that you’re also incredibly, terribly offensive!

Well, now you've gone and offended me!
Everyone tells me I'm way too sensitive...😢
I really need to work on my attitude regarding that!
My apologies, wiredmarlin5!

I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to talk him into it more effectively than I could—you've definitely got more wits about you than I do—so hopefully that clears things up a bit...
My apologies once again....🙂

Bryan Wood49, don't get all worked up, you can tell this is just a joke...
It’s just luck. I could be the smartest guy in the room, but an e6700 isn't hitting anything over 3.2.😁
I'm just messing around...
But hey, Bryan Wood49 actually has better numbers...😉
