God bless everyone: all the ointment users, those who haven't started yet, Mexicans, Mexicans, Mexicans, Americans, and everyone else following along (I suppose an Ogulin resident falls into one of those categories too, ha-ha!)!!! I headed into Washington, D.C. this morning, and when I finally sat down at my computer, I saw you all had been quite busy. Since I played a small part in fueling the fire myself, I feel I ought to say a few more things. I don't consider myself an especially difficult person, nor am I someone who nitpicks or goes looking for trouble just for the sake of it. However, I do like to know exactly what I'm putting on my skin; regardless of which botanical ingredients are used, I’d want to know if there’s some sort of corticosteroid mixed in, simply because I’ve dealt with adverse reactions in the past. Life has taught me that when I'm unsure, I should pause, take stock of the situation, and decide whether to pass the ball forward, back, or just take a risk and charge toward the goal. This time, I’ve decided to press on, so we shall see how it unfolds.
In my previous post, I raised a few questions that were on my mind, and since I've mostly received answers, I feel a bit more confident moving forward. My apologies if I came across as overly sharp in certain statements, but this is a forum—it’s where we practice the democracy of conversation and weigh different perspectives so we can all refine our own stances. Because of that, I have no intention of ignoring anyone or holding a grudge over a difference of opinion. I’ll now respond to a few specific points mentioned, and please, don't take offense if you disagree with my take.
Regarding the surge in posts over the last few months, I don't think it's solely due to Michael Ramos3 joining the forum; I attribute it also to the arrival of cheaper high-speed internet in our markets. For instance, I wouldn't have been able to keep up with all these threads in a single month with my old connection. Also, regarding the idea of a "coordinated attack," I believe it was sparked more by Gregory Mendoza3's report rather than any kind of "organized criminal conspiracy" aimed at targeting Michael Ramos3.
Since Gregory Mendoza3 claims he is 90% sure the allergic reaction was caused by the ointment, I have no reason to doubt his credibility, even though he hasn't received his official test results yet. The man experienced a direct reaction as soon as he began applying the cream. This really ought to be a prompt for Michael Ramos3 to identify exactly which substance triggered the reaction so it can be avoided in the future. It would be perfectly sufficient to simply add a note to the instructions advising people with allergies to specific plants or ingredients to use caution.
As for the use of bold text, I find it unnecessary; it only serves to heighten tensions, and for those of us dealing with psoriasis, stress is the last thing we need.
Occlusion involves wrapping, which means covering the applied area with something like plastic wrap—a technique used with many topical treatments for psoriasis. Some more aggressive preparations aren't recommended for this method, but since the ointment seems quite occlusive on its own due to its sticky consistency, I think I'll try wrapping my shin tonight to see how it reacts. I'll write about that tomorrow.
Anyway, I've settled into this daily routine of applying the cream and showering, and since I'm currently free from heavy work pressure, it isn't too much of a chore.
Regarding the price and the profit margins on the ointment, I have to be honest. A price of 60 dollars feels quite steep to me, especially since I personally require two containers a month. Considering average incomes in our parts, particularly in places like the Midwest, that is certainly not pocket change. I assume the actual cost of production is significantly lower than the retail price, so, in keeping with the constant emphasis on loving God, it might be wise to consider a price adjustment. Personally, the amount isn't prohibitive for me, provided it continues to "work" as effectively as it has been; if it keeps this up, I could be "clear" by the end of summer, something I haven't managed to achieve in nearly 11 years of battling psoriasis.
Best wishes to everyone; don't get worked up—you won't feel better by biting your nails!
