Good grief, it is always better to seek advice from multiple sources than to go ahead and do something incredibly stupid without thinking... I genuinely cannot wrap my head around this constant mocking from 🤷

Did you expect us to just tell you to go ahead and chug beers?! It’s common knowledge that you shouldn't mix these kinds of meds with alcohol, so if you decide to do it, that's on you. You might be fine, or you might not☕

Alcohol isn't even my main issue, though I'll admit a cold beer hits the spot once in a while. But when I'm overdoing it on pills to deal with the drinking, and pairing that with ADHD meds... that's a different story. Honestly, the hardest part is giving up Coke because of the caffeine; apparently, it just amplifies the depressive effects when you mix it with stimulants. It’s a mess. The other day, I accidentally ate a piece of cappuccino-flavored chocolate and immediately spiraled, convinced I was going to feel terrible. Luckily, it wasn't 😁

Look, I certainly wasn't sitting there expecting anyone to give me advice like "just go grab a beer" or "go get hammered"—not that I’m taking any suggestions regarding Coaxil, as I've already made quite clearly—but my intention was simply that if someone here actually uses those medications, or perhaps something similar, like xanax or helex, they might be able to offer some actual insight.

The whole question was prompted by the upcoming New Year's Eve celebrations. 🤷

🙂A single square of chocolate... honestly, you are such a neurotic mess. haha

As for me, I drink coffee by the gallon—it's actually pathetic how much I consume. From black drip to instant to lattes, you name it. But hey, when your stomach is constantly acting up, it’s pretty much the only thing that makes life tolerable.

haha yeah, I know😁 but do you drink caffeine while on AD? My psychiatrist told me to cut it out while taking AD... and it's actually listed in the pill's instructions too...

I'm back on antidepressants again after a bit of a break. The last thing I was taking was Wellbutrin.
And you know what? Since I don't touch alcohol and I don't smoke weed, I figure I should at least be allowed to have a damn cup of coffee, right? 🙂

My doctor did mention that cigarettes can dampen the effects of antipsychotics, though I'm honestly not sure if that goes for antidepressants too.

It’s all well and good, I suppose, but there are moments when this Vaira just hits me so hard that I end up passing out instantly, much like I did yesterday.☕

Hey, fadedbear92—don't you think it might be smarter to spread those milligrams out a bit more, maybe split them right down the middle?!

The instructions clearly state you shouldn't mix this with alcohol, whether it's a massive amount of beer or just a small glass.
It's not like a tiny sip of sparkling cider for the New Year will kill him, right? 😉

A single beer didn't cause any issues for me, though that doesn't guarantee it won't affect him. If you want to be a supportive friend, maybe suggest he holds off on the drinks until he's finished his medication? Ideally, he should avoid alcohol altogether afterward, but let's face it—that's a pretty tall order in American culture. 😬

So, what kind of dosage are we talking about here?
It’s 2:30 in the morning, and I’m sitting here staring at the ceiling, stuck on 2.5 in the AM and another 2.5 at night.

I’ve been on Cipralex for about two weeks now, and honestly, I’m not feeling much of a difference yet.
But man, the side effects are absolutely killing me; my appetite has just completely vanished.
I’ve managed to drop 4 pounds in just two weeks, which is honestly pretty terrifying.

Is anyone actually still taking this stuff?
I had to cut myself off because it completely wiped out my period, but honestly, I’m thinking about getting back on it since I always feel so much more level when I'm using it.
At this point, I'll just take some hormone therapy to deal with the cycle issues and call it a day.

Well, thank God you're feeling some relief from it—honestly!😉

I haven't heard anything about Adderall and caffeine either, though I have looked into mixing caffeine with benzos. My doctor mentioned it isn't exactly the best combination, right?

Yeah, it's true. It should be right there in the warning label on the antidepressant packaging. Mine explicitly mentions that drinking too much tea, coffee, or anything else loaded with caffeine—like Coke—can make things worse. You can end up with shaky hands, nausea, heart palpitations, restlessness, and insomnia. Most of those symptoms tend to clear up if you just cut back on the caffeine. My therapist told me straight up to stop drinking caffeine altogether. I think you could probably handle small amounts occasionally, but I'm way too much of a worrier to deal with it daily. I don't even really drink coffee, but I gave up soda entirely. Maybe one glass a month, and that's about it.

I've actually heard the opposite... nowhere does it say you can't take caffeine with benzos, but the instructions for Adderall definitely mention it.😉

Caffeine isn't really recommended because it can cause jitters and might even trigger a panic attack.
