Hey everyone, quick question here......
With my antidepressant, I usually take one tablet in the morning.
Since my sleep schedule is all over the place, I don't really have a set wake-up time. Some days it’s 9, other days it’s 10 or 11...
Does it matter with this kind of medication if I don't take it at the exact same time every day, like you would with antibiotics?!

Has anyone here ever tried taking Fevarin ? I’d love to hear some feedback, please 😉.

I’ve been on it for nearly three months now, and honestly, everything seems to be going great... except for the fact that it makes me sleep incredibly, incredibly deeply. It’s almost as if I’m taking actual sleeping pills; I can just drift off and stay out for twelve hours straight. Even if I do happen to wake up a couple of times during the night, I feel so completely groggy and out of it that I just fall right back to sleep immediately. I don’t think I have ever slept this much in my entire life—if it were up to me, I’d just stay asleep indefinitely. 😁
My therapist mentioned that this might actually be a sign that the treatment is working and that everything is perfectly fine... but still, I figured I would ask if anyone else has had similar experiences with it... or if you could share any thoughts at all regarding your own experience.

Does Prazina actually cause dependency?

I was originally on Lorasilan for my anxiety, but then my doctor decided to pull the plug on that and swapped it out for Prazina (25mg) as a substitute. Man, getting off the Lorasilan was brutal—it felt like I was going through withdrawal every single hour, just constant misery. But honestly? I’ve been off it for two weeks now and I’m actually feeling pretty good.

The thing is, now they’re talking about tapering me off the Prazina too, and I’m low-key freaking out that I'm gonna end up right back in that same hellscape I dealt with during the Lorasilan crash.

It doesn't matter what exact hour you take it in the morning, as long as it is during the morning hours. 😉
Even if you happen to sleep in until noon or 1:00 PM, it isn't going to cause any real issues.

A 25mg dose of Prazina is basically the lowest you can go. That was likely just to help you sleep. You really shouldn't be getting hooked on it at that level.

I took it myself, though I didn't get quite that sleepy—since I struggle with insomnia, I actually needed a sleeping aid on top of it.

It clearly has a calming effect on you—given that it acts as an anxiolytic too—so you might want to look into lowering your dose.

Thanks for the input. 🙂 My therapist actually told me that my current dose is perfectly fine and suggested we shouldn't bother scaling it back just yet. And hey, at the very least, I'm finally getting some decent sleep.

I was really hoping someone might be able to chime in here—maybe share some of your own experiences or just offer a bit of guidance.

My doctor suggested that while I’m taking my 50mg Zoloft in the morning, I should also take 25mg of Seroquel at night to help with the anxiety, along with Xanax PR (though I only take that one very rarely).

As for what's going on, my diagnosis is currently listed as F41—though nothing is set in stone just yet. I've been on the Zoloft for about four months now.

The real struggle right now is this overwhelming, nagging obsession that I’m actually losing my mind—it’s hard to even put into words how intense that feeling is—but other than that specific fear, I don't really deal with any intrusive thoughts.

Is it actually standard practice to prescribe an antipsychotic to manage anxiety? 😕

And what kind of effects should I expect from a dose like that, and how long am I looking at having to stay on it?

I picked up the prescription about two weeks ago, but I haven't actually started taking them yet.😢

Man, I feel that in my soul.
To be totally blunt—I’ve been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, and my biggest, most gut-wrenching fear is just... losing it completely.

I’m on 20mg of Zyprexa right now, and honestly? It’s the only thing keeping me level. Aside from that, things are actually feeling way better than they used to.

Over the last few years, I've noticed psychiatrists prescribing antipsychotics for both anxiety and depression quite frequently. It isn't unusual at all.
That Seroquel you were given is a solid AP; it works wonders when taken at night to handle insomnia, but it also addresses various intrusive thoughts and obsessions—it isn't strictly reserved for schizophrenia.
You've been prescribed a minimal dose of 25 mg, considering they make versions in 25, 100, and 200 mg increments. Since people can be on much higher doses, like 400 or 500 mg, you can see just how low your dosage actually is. For instance, I'm personally on 200 mg.
If you take it during the day—acting as a substitute for Xanax or other anxiolytics—it will cause drowsiness initially, but that usually tapers off after a while.

Thanks for the reply—I think I might just be overthinking this whole thing.

Look, there is nothing unusual about feeling this way, considering it is practically baked into the diagnosis.
Personally, I find myself paralyzed by anxiety every single time I start a new medication.
And that applies to more than just psychiatric drugs; it's a pattern that holds true for just about anything else I take. 🤣

Yeah, I’m pretty convinced it’s going to change me so much that I won't even recognize myself anymore.😁

Whatever, we'll give it a shot. 😍

Anyway, I’m totally on the same page as you here—if you don't mind me asking (and if it's not too private), what exactly is your diagnosis? I don't want to go scrolling through half the forum trying to find out.

It’s the same as yours, F41. Though, honestly, I suspect I might need an additional label added to my file, since
beyond the anxiety and panic, I dealt with several depressive episodes about two years back.

No, these pills aren't going to rewrite your entire personality; they're simply going to quiet the noise, which might make you feel somewhat disconnected from your usual self. You can always give them a shot, and if the experience doesn't sit right with you, you can just stop taking them without making a scene. They won't leave you permanently altered in the sense that you become a stranger to yourself or the people around you.

Do you mean feeling weirder than you already do? 😁

What's your experience been like with this "little pink pill"? 🙂

Quite positive, actually. They allow me to sleep soundly and my anxiety has finally receded, provided
that I manage the dosage myself. I take 200 mg in total—50 mg in the afternoon
and 150 mg at night to help me drift off.
They don't alter my personality; I don't feel sluggish, intoxicated, or otherwise changed.

Thanks for the insight! I think I might give them a shot if that's how they work. 😍

Quick follow-up question, though—how long have you been on them, and what was it like when you finally decided to stop?

I started out on the antipsychotic Vera for about two years, but then it suddenly, almost
overnight, just stopped working, and my insomnia came roaring back. I managed to get
off it within a week without any major fallout or side effects. I stayed off the
AP for about a month and a half, but then everything spiraled again—chronic insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks—so last November, my psychiatrist prescribed
the Q-pill (Seroquel). I started low at just 25 mg, moved up to 50, then 100, and eventually settled at 200 mg, where I remain. If I ever stop taking them, it would likely
only be because they’ve lost their efficacy, at which point I’d just switch to a different AP. I simply can't function without an AP; antidepressants alone don't cut it for me.

And which antidepressant are you pairing with that, and are you still using Xanax? Honestly, I can't bring myself to touch those antipsychotics. I end up leaning most heavily on Xanax, and for sleep, I rely on Salvatore. Every time I read some horror story about having a stroke, I lose the nerve to take anything, and then I get caught in this vicious cycle where the fear of the pills themselves triggers a massive panic attack.😢 🙂

I'm currently on Lexapro.
I used to rely on Xanax, but since I started taking an antipsychotic during the
daytime, I don't really need it anymore because this medication keeps me steady.
I take the antipsychotic to deal with this damn insomnia, along with intense anxiety and restlessness.
