USL SuperDraft: Orange County SC vs. MLS Next Pro Side +3 Over 1.5 Goals (0-1)

So, look—Orange County SC is sitting pretty at the top of the second division right now. They’ve cruised through their first three matches with three straight wins, dropping only one goal while putting five past opponents. Pretty dominant, right?
They did get knocked out of the US Open Cup earlier, though. Their run there was... well, inconsistent. Three games, one win, a draw, and a loss—left them with a measly 5:5 goal difference. Total rollercoaster.
Offensively, they're looking sharp, but let's be real about that defense—it's definitely not a fortress. They have a habit of letting teams slip through. Those two narrow 1-0 wins they grabbed? Yeah, those were against bottom-feeders like San Antonio FC Academy and Real Monarchs II. Don't let the clean sheets fool you.
When they actually stepped up against a side with some real teeth—like how they handled the Portland Timbers 2 squad recently—they walked away with a 3-1 victory.
What that tells me is that when they face an opponent with actual quality, especially one that plays an aggressive attacking style, goals are almost a guarantee...
Now, looking at the opposition, this MLS Next Pro outfit is consistently tough. They're always hovering near the top of the table, usually finishing in that top 5 or 6 bracket.
In terms of pure firepower, they are easily one of the most dangerous offensive units in the league, alongside maybe one or two others.
Over their last three league outings, they’ve been lighting it up—scoring 8 goals while conceding just 3.
They are basically a lock to find the back of the net in almost every single match they play. On the flip side, their defensive line is clearly their Achilles' heel, so keeping a clean sheet against a hungry leader is going to be a massive uphill battle for them.
I think the visitors will have plenty of motivation to spoil the party against the league leaders, especially since Orange County showed they can go toe-to-toe with the big boys.
Bottom line? I'm expecting fireworks. Based on how these two have been playing lately, we should see plenty of action...

Did the sportsbook seriously screw up here?

How on earth is the coefficient higher for Higuaín scoring plus Napoli winning at 9.30, while Higuaín scoring plus Athletic Bilbao winning is only 6.25?🤣

Einstein would say the odds could be higher if we were expecting someone from Napoli—like Higuaín—to score, but simultaneously predicting a massive 5-1 blowout loss for them. But that’s clearly not what’s happening here.☕

They must have swapped the numbers. Honestly, this looks like a massive error and an absolute steal right now. A 1-0 result for Napoli against an Athletic Bilbao side that's been overrated for years isn't even out of the question—this game should be a coin flip. Plus, there's a good chance Higuaín finds the back of the net if Napoli scores at all, and getting nearly 10:1 odds😲 when the straight win is sitting at 3.50 is just insane.👍

Golden State Warriors 1 @ 1,45 (2-1) (f+2 @ 2,15)

Second leg of the Democratic Party quarterfinals—where the most expensive squad in Asia is looking to claw back from a 0-1 deficit after that first matchup against the Australian side.
The Chinese players—who happen to be the current champs, by the way—are running under big-name Marcello Lippi, led by guys like Italian Diamanti, plus they’ve got Guillermina and Brazilian Elkeson joining the ranks this season. Honestly, they just have to win here to make it to the semis and actually live up to being the favorites for this whole tournament.
After a bit of a slump, the Chinese side is finally finding their rhythm again—they've picked up three straight wins lately (that's 5 out of their last 6 in the domestic league).
The Australians, though... they aren't exactly match-fit yet since their season doesn't even kick off until November, so that win in the first leg was a massive shocker.

The home team is missing two players who picked up reds in the first game, but I don't think that'll sink them. Even though I'm pulling for the Australians, I think the home side pulls this one off to advance.

The Chinese side tends to have a slow start sometimes, so I'm thinking about leaning toward the transition 2/1 @ 27 (0-0/2-1)

Did the sportsbook seriously screw up here?

How does it make sense that the odds for Gonzalo Higuaín to score plus a New York City FC win are sitting at 9.30, while the same bet for him plus an Athletic Bilbao win is only 6.25? It doesn't add up. 🤣

A Theoretician might argue that the odds increase if you expect someone from New York City FC to find the back of the net—in this case, Gonzalo Higuaín—while simultaneously betting on NYCFC to lose 5-1. But that’s not what we’re talking about here. ☕

They probably swapped those odds. Honestly, that coefficient looks massive, and the value is definitely there now. A 0:1 underdog scenario against an overhyped Athletic Bilbao—who have been overpriced for years—isn't even that crazy. This match should be a total toss-up, 50-50 at best. And if New York City FC manages to find the back of the net, there's a good chance Gonzalo Higuaín will be the one to score. With odds sitting near 10, you can't ignore that. 😲 While it’s sitting at a clean 2.0, the odds are hovering around 3.50. 👍

Don't sweat it, the sportsbook didn't screw you over.

You could have done a little homework and realized you would’ve been much better off playing that same way in the US Army.
New York City FC to win at +250 and Gonzalo Higuaín to score at +190 gives you a total payout of +1015.

Something feels quite unsettling within the Bayern Munich squad. I suppose it appears that Pep Guardiola got into a heated argument during training, shouting at several players who were apparently responding quite forcefully to his outbursts—and he may have even physically struck Thomas Mueller. It seems Mueller has requested a meeting with the club director, and there are even whispers regarding a consultation with legal counsel.

The entire confrontation took place right in front of a crowd of reporters, so everything was captured on film:

I suspect this could potentially be significant information to consider when looking at betting lines for upcoming Bayern Munich matches.

Saturday 3:30 PM

B.Leverkusen-Hertha BSC 1 @ 1.50 (4-2)

Man, Bayer is absolutely tearing it up right now—they’re just devouring everyone in their path! They basically smoked Copenhagen in five minutes today. Honestly, after seeing how much Hertha struggled against those small-town regional teams in the cup last week, I don't see this going any other way.

Sunday 5:00 PM

Metz-Lyon, Metz wins @ 1.45 (2-1)

Lyon is looking pretty banged up and they're definitely going to be feeling the fatigue from that Thursday matchup against Astra. There's really no way they're keeping a clean sheet here.

Friday 7:00 PM

Örebro SK-Brommapojkarna 1 @ 1.40 (3-1)

Brommapojkarna is a total mess lately—it's been three rounds of pure disaster for them. Their form is cratering, especially after those 0-3 and 0-4 blowouts. At this rate? Their chances of staying in the league are basically zero.

Rio Ave-Elfsborg 1 1,80 (1-0)

Look, you’ve got a pretty decent Portuguese side going up against an Elfsborg squad that—let's be real—is looking incredibly shaky on the road right now. They're basically hunting for a one-goal margin here...
The thing is, Elfsborg is used to playing on artificial turf, so whenever they have to travel and play on real grass, they tend to struggle big time. It’s always been a bit of a headache for them.
Just look at their track record this season—they dropped one in Iceland (2-1), they were stuck in a total grind in Azerbaijan with a 0-0 draw, and their away form in the domestic league is just ugly... a measly 3-4-4 record.
And to make matters worse, they're heading into this shorthanded; they're missing three key guys...
Lasse Lars Nilsson FW
Daniel Mobaeck DF
Simon Hedlund MF

On the flip side, Rio Ave absolutely tore it up at the start of their league campaign—two wins and a goal differential of 7:1. Pretty dominant.
They’re playing in front of their home crowd today, they’re riding high on momentum, and they are definitely eyeing that advancement... honestly, a win feels well within reach for them.
That said, they aren't exactly flying at full strength either—they'll be missing two midfielders, Yonathan Del Valle and Luis Gustav.

Debrecen-Young Boys over 2.5 goals, 2.00 (0-0)

(1:3)

Look, if you thought the matchup seven days ago was wild, don't hold your breath—this one’s gonna be just as wide open... honestly, probably even more so.
Both sides play with zero defensive fear, and let's be real, Debrecen has absolutely no choice here—they have to come out swinging from the first whistle if they want any hope of pulling off this comeback... it's win or go home for them.
On the flip side, the Boys are plenty talented enough to punish them—any time the hosts leave a gap, those guys are going to exploit it immediately.

Dnipro handicap + Kalinić scores @ 12.89 Parlay (0-0)

Dnipro is clearly the superior side—it was obvious during the first matchup.
Hajduk tends to stumble in games like this; it's as if the pressure gets to them and causes them to freeze right when they need a win most.
The Split residents desperately need the points, and their defense is far from reliable. If they concede early in the first half, they could easily fall apart in the second—something we've seen happen plenty of times before.
Kalinić is the main striker, and while he can be a bit sluggish, he consistently finds himself in scoring positions. He’ll likely scrape something together tonight.

For comparison, SS is only offering 10.3 on this bet. Lately, the parlay odds for player goals at PSK have been significantly higher.

Dnipro is clearly superior; the first match proved that.
Hajduk tends to choke in matches like this, appearing paralyzed by the pressure when they desperately need a win.
The Split residents need this victory, and their defense is unreliable. If they concede early in the first half, they risk falling apart in the second—something we have seen happen frequently.
Kalinić is the primary striker; despite his lack of fitness, he consistently finds himself in scoring positions. He will likely capitalize on an opportunity tonight.

For comparison, SS is only offering 10.3 on this bet. Lately, PSK has been providing much higher odds for player goalscorer bets.

I agree. Hajduk will play more expansively than they did in the first game, which leaves them vulnerable to being caught on the counter. I am uncertain about Kalinić, though; he looks out of shape, but as you noted, he might just convert one of his many chances. 😁

Mamić's mess—Petrolul wins by 2 at 4.2 odds (just kidding) (2-1). Handicap 2 at 11 (SS), passing that... then there's the double handicap 2 at 28.1 (HL).

So, here we go again. I’m expecting another classic performance from this club—you know, the one formerly known as Dinamo Chicago—similar to that mess against the Danish side. We'll probably have maybe five thousand Noahs in the stands, ready to start whistling the second the Romanians take the lead. This whole fraudulent organization just got lucky back in Romania because they managed to capitalize on Mutu's misses. Now? I’m just waiting for the collective panic to set in and for us to suffer a routine, embarrassing loss. Honestly, I can only hope it’s enough to finally send them down.

I'll throw in some options too. Mutu scores at 3.60. Since they’ve got some serious making up to do after that first game, I'm looking at Tamuz to find the back of the net—odds are sitting at @ 6 (for the halftime goal, anyway), while everyone else is hovering around @ 3.60.

There’s also that option with Tamuz. He bags two goals by the 39th minute—absolute madness. te Tamuz scoring in both halves—anybody else seeing this? Feeling like it’s sitting at +109... definitely worth a look. 😲

Augsburg-Borussia 2 @ 1.72. (2-3) Today's a trap or a payday? Both sides dropped points in week one. Augsburg lost 2-0 to Hoffenheim, and Borussia suffered the exact same result at home against Bayer. Honestly, they didn't look nearly as bad as the scoreline suggests. Borussia actually put 8 shots up—4 on target—but Bayer caught them cold in the first minute. Thoughts?

A little double play for tomorrow

Nunea/Altr/dng-Nuneaton @ 1.25 (2-1)

Nuneaton hasn't found the back of the net in their first five matches—so this is basically the perfect golden opportunity to hammer a struggling Altrincham side!

JohviLok-Flor Tallinn 2 @ 1.15 (2-5)

Johvi is sitting pretty at the bottom, while Flora is right in the middle of a massive title race drama!

NK Domžale-NK Maribor, Maribor gives @ 1.25 (2-0)

Maribor can really start stepping on the gas in the league now, especially since they need to catch up to the leaders, Domžale. Honestly, why even talk about the massive quality gap between Maribor and everyone else in this league? It’s not even close. But hey, those Domžale guys haven't conceded a single goal in six rounds, so their luck might finally run out soon.

RB Salzburg-Sturm Graz 1 @ 1.15 (2-3)

Salzburg is gonna be absolutely livid after this one—they're seriously risking losing that top spot in the league if they don't get their act together!

Tokyo-Giants at >
A matchup between the 4th and 5th seeds. Both teams are coming in with significant momentum, particularly Tokyo-Giants. If my memory serves me correctly, they have seen 19 consecutive head-to-head matchups where both sides found the back of the net. Naturally, I don't expect that pattern to hold today, which is exactly why I’m placing my bet on it. 🙂

Chievo-Juventus 2 @1,55 (0-1)
There is a massive disparity in sheer quality here. This medusoban encounter takes place on Juventus's home turf. Does anyone happen to know if there's any truth to the rumor that Chievo acts as a feeder club for Juventus? I recall hearing someone suggest it, and I believe Chievo was the specific team mentioned.

Manchester City and Atletico Madrid should be relatively straightforward wins...

The selection available today is truly top-tier... I might actually have to put together a basketball parlay as well... player points, over/under, and so on.

The gap in quality is huge here. It’s a head-to-head matchup on Juve's side. Does anyone know if people actually call Chievo a feeder club for Juve? I know there's some talk about that—I think it might be specifically regarding Chievo.

Chievo actually has four Inter players there on loan right now. 😉

It wasn't Chievo—it was Siena that got relegated down to USL League Two.

Sparta Prague-Jablonec Over 3.5 @ 1.87 (2-0)

Look, Sparta’s been looking pretty rough lately—just totally lacking that clinical edge, you know? We're talking gritty 1-0 wins or even losing 0-1... just zero rhythm...
Jablonec has actually been outplaying Sparta most of the time. They went toe-to-toe with Plzen in the first round and ended up dropping a 3-1, but they play with heart.
The thing is, whenever these two squads meet, the net practically never stops shaking... there are always goals. 🙂

If you look at the last 10 matches between them, 9 of them blew past that 3-goal mark. Only one single game ended with a boring 1-0 win for Sparta.
Right now, Jablonec is looking way sharper than Sparta. After dealing with those European matchups, Sparta really needs to step up their intensity and actually show some responsibility in the league if they want to stay relevant.
My gut says we're looking at another high-scoring affair here. Jablonec plays an open, fearless style of soccer... they don't just sit back...

Hey... does anyone out there know a site that tracks which half sees more goals? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hey... I'm new here and honestly can't figure out how to even make a post properly. I was wondering if there's a specific site that keeps stats on which half tends to have more scoring, like if a certain team consistently hits their goals later in the game or something. Thanks
