We finally gave that cake at Charlotte a shot this past Friday... and honestly? It was incredible. Just a smooth chocolate and vanilla mousse 🙂

I need to scan that one we showed the lady back there, but honestly, I care more about whether she’s actually decent 🙂 😉

Is that some kind of parfait cream or what?

mousse—it’s basically like a parfait, just way more airy and light, much like your typical mousse

Look, I have no idea what a mousse actually is 🙄...but as long as it tastes good, who cares. We'll just stick to a chocolate and vanilla combo, similar to one of those pairings. 😁

Alright, let me ask you all something... since I'm clearly not the brightest bulb in the box here... please, I beg you, try not to laugh at me too much...

What kind of wedding cakes are actually popular these days? To be honest, I haven't really attended many weddings in my life; they've always just felt like such a chore to me, so I tended to steer clear whenever possible...

Željkić, you can find those mousses in just about any bakery these days, so why not swing by one this afternoon and treat yourself? 😍

Larry Hall 🤷 I think parfaits are making a big comeback right now, though Black Forest is still a classic. You could even try some fruit-based ones... if you're making a multi-layered dessert, you can really play around with different flavors.

Actually, I was also going to ask—what exactly is a ticino? 🤷

😂 If I actually knew how to say that in German...😂
The Ticino mass is that smooth stuff, not the layered kind.😉

I mean, "mousse" is an international term anyway 🤣

So, I started a new thread for wedding cake recommendations in Washington, D.C. My big day is only two weeks away and we haven't even booked a cake yet!!!! I'm panicking: where should I order from? Any leads would be huge.

vividskipper40 said:The five-tier thing (we actually wanted four, but they didn't have a four-tier stand, only three or five) ended up costing about $400.

What's the delivery fee for the cake?

I honestly don't think they charge for delivery, though I can't say for certain... 🤷

I’m having some chocolate mousse on a cake later, and my aunt explained that it's basically just this creamy stuff made from egg yolks mixed with chocolate or vanilla. Don't go thinking you have to crack fresh eggs right then, though—most pastry chefs over here use powdered egg yolks.
It's super good, I guess.

My cousin was just in Vincennes checking on a quote for a cake (for about 160 people), and they told her it would be $1167. A friend of hers paid $433 for that exact same setup just a year ago. How on earth did prices jump that much?

Ladies, has anyone here ever ordered a cake from "Meli" up in Park City? I've heard they are absolutely stunning and delicious, so I wanted to get some outside opinions before I make the trip over there.😉
