Michael Martinez16 said:I grabbed some cookies and cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes

Are those sweets actually any good because I see people raving about them here and I was wondering if you've had a chance to try them yet?
Do you know what they charge per pound for the cookies?

Michael Palmer862 said:I'm honestly not sure what a fair price is since I paid $0.83 for my soy treats, and that included having them delivered to the hall already packed in those little boxes. Wouldn't the bakery where you ordered the cookies just have some boxes on hand?

I actually managed to find some for $0.83 😁
thanks!

What do you all think of this cake stand (the one on the left)?

Honestly, those tiered stands and all that extra flair just feel like a bit much for me... plus having twenty different little pastries tucked inside those rings? Ugh...

I’d much rather just have one massive, delicious sheet cake that everyone can dig into...

I’ve actually thought about trying a cake without a support stand before, but I suppose it just couldn't be that large.
Personally, I really like the look of the stand—it reminds me a bit of a sail. I guess the gold finish is a little much for my taste, though. Then again, I doubt any cake I made would look quite this fancy anyway.

Maybe it’s just better if you don't overthink things and make them more complicated than they need to be?

I suppose I'll have to see, but I only just spotted this yesterday... plus, there should still be plenty of time for the cake. I'm hoping we can get it done about fifteen days before the big party, at least.🙂

Hi, ladies.

Has anyone heard of Pekrana mus near Columbus or somewhere in that area? I’ve become quite taken with the look of their cakes 😍, though I’ve only managed to try one single pastry so far, and it failed to impress me 🙄..... I have no idea what their actual cake selection is like..... 😕

Do you have any experiences to share?

We picked up half a pound at the fair, but they weren't great—they taste like they're full of margarine.
I see everyone here raving about Kašnar, so we bought some today just to test them out.

Oh man, I think I've had enough sweets! We're buying stuff to try every single weekend; I'm going to end up gaining weight...

I’m telling you, those pastries from Pekrana mus over in Columbus are absolute fire. People can say whatever they want, but I think they’re incredible!
And that fruit cake? Man, my mouth is watering just thinking about it... I could honestly demolish the whole thing by myself right now.

Arthur Taylor25 said:I’d highly recommend checking out ANTICA if you need pastries or wedding cakes; they really are fantastic. Their wedding cakes aren't nearly as overpriced as you'd expect, either. I ended up ordering a five-tier cake for my own wedding and it only set me back $417... which honestly isn't bad at all when you consider how much other places charge. The pastries are excellent too... and one thing I personally value is that there's absolutely no margarine to be found—at least I know I won't end up with an upset stomach, haha. They use a real, homemade cooked cream instead...

But wait, where exactly is Antica located?

Not trying to sound like a walking advertisement here, though—if you want the details, just shoot me a DM.🙂

I'm currently on the hunt for some good cookies, so please, if anyone has any leads, let me know!

So what's the deal with those Kašnar cookies? Are they actually good?

By the way, what’s the deal with Nutrapek? Has anyone here actually used their cakes for a wedding before?

But why wouldn't you consider the pastries from srčeko? The girls working there are absolutely wonderful, and they prepare everything just as if you were making it at home; they roll out all their dough by hand and whip up their own creams, and I am quite certain they melt actual chocolate into their Canadian pastries rather than using cocoa powder, which is something I find incredibly important... plus, they are very accommodating with arrangements, and I believe the price per kilogram is currently around $23, which doesn't seem like much at all for authentic, homemade quality... since they cater weddings every single Saturday, you could even ask them to put together a little tasting sampler for you, and having tried them myself, I truly believe it is worth the effort...

mistygull12, would you mind sending me a direct message with a contact for Srčeko? Google keeps throwing way too many useless results at me, and I really don't have the patience for endless searching...

Thomas Ortiz9, the info for Tom and Anna was already posted earlier in this thread, so just scroll back up a bit and you'll find it. 😉
