ambersailor102 said:I have a quick question for Emma. First off, those mini cakes of yours—wow. They are absolutely stunning, so elegant and visually appealing, and I’m sure they taste just as good too, haha
.
Honestly, they look better than any individual dessert I’ve scrolled past online, which leads me to my actual question: how big are they really?
Is one single mini cake actually enough for one guest? On one hand, I know there will be plenty of other desserts and treats served alongside the wedding cake, but I can already see myself panicking when someone asks for seconds and I have to say, "Sorry, we're all out," heheheheh
.
I am obsessed with the idea, and I think they are so much more charming than a traditional cake, but at the same time, I'm a little nervous about the logistics

sonea, thanks!
The portion size is basically like a thick slice of cake, and I served them alongside that layered one (the one on top)
Here are some pics

Basically, just be prepared that people might ask for more because they're so good, but if your guest count isn't massive like mine was, having something similar to what I did should be plenty

a Donna Chase12, how many guests did you end up hosting? And if you don't mind me asking, what's the damage for a single little cake? I’ve been scouring the shops in Phoenix trying to track down something similar, but it’s like they don't even exist... so, ladies, if any of you happen to know which bakery actually pulls off cakes like these, please let me know. thnx.

122, but I actually ordered 130 of them plus that cake...
I ended up paying $3.25 per piece, and the cake was $40, though since I walked away with 20kg of treats—between the mini cakes and the big one—I managed to snag a $67 discount...
Honestly, I’m beyond happy with how it turned out

I saw some girl just placed an order, but apparently starting next month they'll be $3.25 each... otherwise, these are easily the cheapest little treats I've found in New York City... and they taste amazing, too

I actually reached out to a local bakery that told me they’d be willing to take on the job. But when I brought up the price per cupcake I saw back at that wedding expo in San Francisco $6.00 per unit, the owner just gave me this look and basically said there was no way in hell he’d touch a project for $6.00 a pop! Honestly, once I heard the quote you're looking at, I felt a literal headache coming on.

And honestly, prices around here usually run anywhere from $16 up to $11... which is why I’m telling you, this is a steal... especially since the taste and look alone would justify a much higher price tag
I ordered some last month for a birthday party and they were slightly different, but still absolutely delicious—so yeah, I've officially been proven right twice now that Monica kills it with these cakes

Well, thanks for the heads-up on all that. I suppose I'll just have to scour the place and see if I can actually dig up anything useful...🙂)

It’s true—GEICO is charging way more than what Donna Chase12 ended up paying.
It went great.

Anyone know if there's someone in Seattle or nearby making these kinds of little cakes? I've been obsessing over this since day one—it’s the only thing on my radar.
I saw some people from Indianapolis selling them at a local fair here, and they do delivery, but honestly, I'd much rather find someone local. It'd just be way easier to coordinate the pickup and the logistics.

Check out the whole thread on Wedding Dresses: Seattle and surrounding areas—someone actually brought up Hemingway here.

Hey ladies, I’ve finally finished sorting out the cake! The search ended at Monica’s bakery in Newport. I went ahead and ordered the cupcakes 🙂

What’s the damage lately?
I mean for things like cupcakes, standard cakes, or pastries?

Hey everyone!

I have a few questions... 😁
Roughly how many pastries should I order for about 50 to 60 guests?
Also, is it common to have a traditional wedding cake in addition to something like almond croissants, or is just one enough?
And does anyone have any good bakery recommendations in Miami?

Ugh, I feel like I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing 🤷🤷🤷

Man, I'm actually glad it's sorted... are you getting the same ones I did or something different?
Honestly, I feel like I should've asked Monica for a kickback for basically running an ad campaign for those cupcakes😉😁

😍😍😍 This is more what I'm looking for 😉 maybe just with hearts at the top, but they look really nice

So, is this the same place that was making those little pastries for $9.50 $3.25 each? Or am I mistaken?

Honey, I already told her that the advertisement you made on the forum was excellent. She knows how to show appreciation.🙂
She really ought to reward you with at least a cake; if I were in her shoes, I would!

Yes, I am going to get those. I basically copied Donna Chase12! My only difference is that mine will have hearts for decoration. I went with chocolate-vanilla because everyone loves that combination. $3.25 per piece, and that cake above is $43! Monica is such a sweetheart 🙂
But the chocolate orange is absolutely incredible!!

Regarding that cutting cake mentioned above, was the diameter 9 inches or even larger? How many slices did you manage to get out of it? Monica told me eight, but I suspect ten is possible. Am I mistaken?

William Parker61, I honestly have no clue what the diameter of that cake was, but since it cost about the same as the others, I’m guessing it was a standard size
I can't tell you how many slices we got out of it—half went to my mom and the rest we polished off at home—so I haven't really sat down to count the servings...
She might be thinking of those wide 8-inch ones they sell at the local bakery...
Yeah, that orange one is pretty delicious too😍
As for Monica herself—yeah, she’s a sweetheart, seriously. It makes me happy to see someone who actually kills it at their job while keeping prices reasonable; she definitely deserves more customers🙂
And honestly, I'm sure you guys will be just as stoked as I was
urbanowl10, if that’s your vibe, she won't have any trouble doing hearts for you—I asked for stars because that was my thing—so just go in and try it out
