Yeah, I honestly have no clue what she's even talking about either... 🤷

I assume that’s what she meant, though I have to admit... the cake looks pretty great to me.

The idea came from the forum, I just grabbed an image from Google and ordered those little figures off eBay 😁

They were honestly so delicious, and my guests absolutely loved them—I think it was because they’d never seen anything quite like them before! 😉

But since it's a suitcase, you can clearly see 😁 there are even two straps 🤣 holding it together.

Mmm, cookies! Yum! We ordered some treats from Hershey's for Christmas and they look absolutely stunning—not to mention they taste incredible. I haven't managed to try everything yet, but so far, I’m really impressed!

Erm, please don't be mad at me, but that's just my local neighborhood bakery... I've ended up ordering from them quite a bit over the last few years whenever I'm feeling a little too lazy to drive somewhere else for sweets

The prices they charge are totally inflated—and honestly, they don't deserve it. Just a basic slice of cake that tastes completely average will run you about $14-$5.00... I mean, seriously...

The only things actually worth mentioning there are their princess donuts and maybe a tiny little cookie here or there

But the prices are just outrageously high for the quality they provide... I think it's like $40 kg

For that kind of money, you could get some truly amazing treats at Hershey's☕

Some friends of mine had a cake from them once; it was decorated beautifully, though the flavor was pretty middle-of-the-road... I can't quite recall how much they charged per slice

Frank, I know what I'm talking about!😉 The cookies are delicious—really wonderful, at least in my opinion. I don't know if I'd bother going all the way to Hershey's, though. My nephew absolutely loves these.
Regarding the price, they aren't all $120. Only two or three varieties hit that mark, while the others are $28/lb.

Does anyone in Miami make cupcake cakes like these?

I'm wondering the same thing🙂

Regarding the cake, since I'm from Indianapolis, my Aunt Eve is going to be making it. I know her personally, so I trust her more than Aunt Kate...
I’m thinking it could work like this—maybe in a brown palette, though... since we're going for that full autumn vibe.

I'm actually loving this whole unconventional approach...
As far as those cakes go, I’m definitely stealing ideas! They look incredible...😉

I have a soft spot for these tilted pieces too, even if they are a massive pain to work on. Here is one I finished recently—maybe someone will find some inspiration in it... 🙂

For those of you who've gotten married recently—how much did you end up paying for your wedding cake, and how many guests were you feeding?

😘 Thanks. Yeah, I made it, and it was a total chocolate symphony—chocolate, chocolate-walnut, and chocolate mousse.
With these slanted surfaces, it’s actually pretty tough to make our moist cakes look as polished as the ones they serve here in the States.

I really need some advice regarding transporting a cake.

Has anyone ever ordered a cake in one city and then hauled 218 miles it to another? Is that even doable? And if so, how on earth do you manage it?

Look, I’m looking at a cake for about 200 people—which is massive, obviously—so we aren't just talking about a little grocery store sheet cake here. The sheer fragility of something that size is a nightmare.

The thing is, I don't want to (unless I absolutely have to) order the cake in the city where I'm getting married because the bakeries there are honestly pathetic. Everything they offer is basically just glorified, overpriced pudding or some sad variation of instant powder mixed with hot water. I want an actual, legitimate cake. 😢

Honestly, your best bet would be to just coordinate directly with the bakery
Almost everyone running that kind of business keeps those little refrigerated delivery vans on hand—so I don't think they'll have any trouble getting it to you... though, mind you, it's definitely going to come with an extra fee

I mean, I actually remember hearing about a time when someone had a cake delivered all the way from Miami to St. Louis

Wait, didn't someone mention those cookies near Indianapolis were delivered all the way to Miami?

That’s going to cost you a fortune, and honestly, I wouldn't dream of doing it myself. I know the Hershey's bakery out in the suburbs does deliveries down to the coast, so they can pull it off, and I assume anyone shipping products long-distance could too. But there’s bound to be a better bakery somewhere much closer to you. Do a bit more digging and see what else is out there. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips, ladies. I’m definitely going to hit up some local ice cream shops to see what the deal is. Honestly, I haven't even begun to wrap my head around how much shipping might end up costing me.

I actually made a run over to Orient today—thinking I could get things sorted—but turns out they’re closed for their annual break until Monday. I'll have to try again next week. They're easily my absolute favorite spot.
