Update: Had a run-in with a clerk at the local pet store today that really rubbed me the wrong way. She completely ignored me, only bothering to acknowledge my presence once my dog walked through the door.
I was looking for a K9 Advantix collar for my pup, but they were out of stock. They tried to push some alternative brand on me, acting like it was the same thing. When my dog's owner asked if this one also lasts six months, she just rolled her eyes and snapped that none of them last that long. Honestly, if you work in retail, you should at least know the basic specs of your inventory—and more importantly, a little courtesy wouldn't kill you. I hope she gets struck by lightning!
Just for the record, the Advantix ones have a 7-month lifespan and cost about $40 for my beast, while these alternatives only last six weeks and go for $17.

Ugh... she totally threw me off my game, but then I saw how Adam Evans62 handled her with such class that I decided to just bite my tongue. Adam Evans62 played it so graceful, and honestly, I didn't want to let my inner construction worker take over. 😬

I did the same thing and went straight to checking that person's post history... once I realized what was actually going on 😠

I got married at 20, pregnant... we’d been engaged for a few months before it happened. We decided then and there that this was it—we wanted to have kids while we were still young rather than being "old parents"—but the first pregnancy just sort of... happened. A condom failed... oops...
For me, it felt like a "gift from above" via my then-unmarried partner...
We never once regretted deciding to go through with the pregnancy as if we’d planned it. We took responsibility. He jumped into a job immediately, I followed suit a little later, and our parents helped us get on our feet. We scraped by however we could. Then came the second kid—we didn't want too big of an age gap, so it ended up being about two and a half years apart. Fast forward to today: we’re finishing our house, we both have steady jobs, and the kids are all grown... Honestly, if it weren't for his diabetes, I’d say we have a perfect life. It's pretty close to perfect, because despite everything we've been through (and there were some really rough patches), we're happy and we love each other (well, except when my hormones are acting up 😬)... and now we're waiting on baby number three...
edit: hit send too early... basically, I just wanted to say that everyone needs to own their own actions and consequences. It really gets under my skin when people take the path of least resistance and expect others to deal with the fallout 😠

Honestly, the lack of cash on hand has been getting under my skin lately, though I suppose everything else in my life is actually holding up quite well! 😁😁😁

Right now I’m basically just self-sabotaging by face-planting into a pile of cookies and chocolate, even though sweet myself, but since I’m stuck on strict bed rest and my man headed out on a trip, I’ve been left all alone 😢

MM 😠

We started putting together this dresser at 8 PM. Now we’re down to just one drawer left and four freaking nails to hammer in, but he decided we’re calling it quits until tomorrow because he "has to go for a run." 🙂

Of course, he knows me too well. Before heading out, he cleaned up all the tools and lifted the dresser off the floor just so I wouldn't get any bright ideas about finishing it myself while he's gone (which I totally would have done—it's just four nails and sliding a drawer in, 🙄).

And now I'm pissed. I know how this works. That fifteen minutes of work is going to sit there for days. He won't want to do it tomorrow because it's Monday and he's tired, then Tuesday he's playing basketball with his buddies, then Wednesday it's some other nonsense. 😠

My OB-GYN over at the local community health center can't even write a simple referral for bloodwork without making a mess of it... I ended up stuck there for an hour trying to clear things up with the lab techs 😠
If it were any closer, I would’ve just gone to a private clinic to get the tests he forgot, but honestly, I’m just not up for driving all over town by myself anymore.
I was planning on just waiting until after I have the baby to switch doctors, but if this guy keeps messing up, I might just make the move sooner rather than later! 😠

I am seriously losing my mind over this iron supplement I have to take, it honestly just makes me feel like absolute garbage
And the worst part? You’re supposed to take it on an empty stomach...
If I could just swallow it whenever I wanted, I’d just knock it back right before bed and be done with it, then I'd actually feel okay by morning
But instead, I feel like crap all day long—acid reflux is kicking in, I'm nauseous, I'm puking...

Man, seriously. I’ve been telling him for two weeks straight that we need to grab that dresser—especially since it’s on sale at Ada right now and it's exactly what we need (not that I even bother asking if his "generous" parents, who supposedly "will buy EVERYTHING," might actually chip in some cash—I gave up on that ages ago). Today, he finally tells me he’s thinking about borrowing the money from her and he’ll give me the full scoop when he gets home. Because apparently, "what’s the rush? We won't even need it for months."
😠
First off, it’s not "months away." Second, I am not borrowing money from anyone just to carry that weight around knowing people might actually need their cash back. Third, I don't want to be walking on eggshells worrying if I accidentally scratch someone else's property. Fourth—and most importantly—it’s YOUR kid, you cheapskate, are you really trying to ruin everything over $217??!?!?! 🙂
If there’s one thing I absolutely HATE, it’s stingy people. And of course, I manage to marry one who’d rather lose sleep than lose a single dollar. Ugh, makes me sick.

@Anthony Watson35

Look, I dealt with the exact same crap with my 😠

According to him, everything was "unnecessary." He wanted me to borrow stuff or just wait until the baby actually showed up!
Eventually, I had a total meltdown and laid it all out for him. I told him he clearly didn't love his own kid and didn't care about me one bit (yeah, I know, sounds harsh 😛), and then I threatened to move back in with my parents for the rest of the pregnancy and let him figure his life out on his own.

So, one day I just called him up and said, "Fine. I'm going to the bank tomorrow to take out that high-interest payday loan, and since my parents are coming into Chicago tomorrow, we're going shopping for everything the baby needs."

He flipped a switch instantly. He pulled cash from his savings (he always keeps a stash) and even drove all the way to Oregon to pick up baby gear. 😉

Honestly? You just have to make them feel guilty. Threaten them. Cut off all the perks of being married—from the sex to the cooking and laundry. Give it a shot. You've got nothing to lose.

Ugh, I can’t even begin to describe how much this makes my skin crawl. Not to mention all that money he just flushed down the drain heading out to that absolute middle-of-nowhere wasteland they insist on visiting every single weekend.
But apparently, I'm supposed to LEND him the dresser. Yeah, right. Like hell. Tonight, I’m just gonna tell him straight up—I’m heading out of town next week to handle some stuff, so he better pick a day when he’s actually taking the van so he can haul it over himself. If he can't manage that, I’ll just pay for the damn delivery service myself just to be done with this idiot. 😠

Honestly, I think this is just how things should be... maybe we women just aren't smart enough too often.
Or perhaps we just pick the same kind of men every single time. They're all the same!

Are you actually kidding me? 😉
I mean, seriously, what on earth are you expecting—is it through kindness or sheer force of will that one expects a child to be raised alongside their own mortal enemies?!
Furthermore, I have always operated under the assumption that intimacy should be a mutually satisfying experience, not some sort of reward handed out like a trophy. We live together, don't we? So shouldn't we be co-managing our lives and maintaining our home as a team, rather than me being treated as if I am receiving a "privilege" simply because I’ve been "well-behaved," cooked dinner, and kept up with the laundry?!

I can already see a move toward the topic of those unbearable fathers who lack even the slightest interest in their children and couldn't bother to pick up a piece of food if their lives depended on it!

Alright, maybe I’m messing with you a little, but when I actually give a damn about something and want things my way, I use these tactics 😉

I’m not exactly the type to compromise. I like things done on my terms, when I want them. Call me a brat if you want, but that's just how it is 🤷

I guess I’ve just been lucky because with Walmart, my methods work about 80% of the time

p.s. I consider Walmart my best friend, but... sometimes I feel like I could literally 🙂, I don't know why that surprises you

Perhaps it surprises me because we have already coordinated everything regarding the baby gear, so I suppose that is why I am a bit puzzled;
this is simply how we operate as a couple.
Besides, who cares about a dresser? It’s just an object, right—it hardly matters if it’s brand new or borrowed from a neighbor.
(Of course, if having something brand new were actually a priority for me, wouldn't I just sit down with my husband and speak to him like a mature adult to resolve it through logic and reasoning, rather than resorting to such petty, childish manipulation?)

Great, good for you. We can reach an agreement on certain things—that’s just how I roll. Sure, it gets under my skin, but at least life isn't boring. 😛

Everyone has their own priorities. Some people care about comfort, some care about their kid's name, others care about something else entirely.
Same goes for how people get what they want. I don't have any issues with manipulation, but clearly, you do. 🤷
A hundred women, two hundred breasts. 😁

Anyway, we've gone completely off track here...

I feel compelled to share this... 😲

Walking down the street yesterday—just minding my own business—when some guy stops me out of nowhere. He reaches out, shakes my hand, and congratulates me on the pregnancy, wishing me a smooth delivery. 🤷
I’ve never seen him before in my life... complete stranger.

I think I was in such shock that I didn't even feel irritated—I just stood there, stunned.
Then, at the grocery store later, the cashier is staring at me, smiling, and finally asks how far along I am. 😲

I used to look forward to the bump actually showing... but now? Honestly... does it really have to be such a public spectacle?

I hit my fifth month this Monday. :/ Once I hit the sixth, I might just stop leaving the house altogether. God... I just hope people don't start trying to touch my stomach.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

it's fine until random creeps start touching you 🙂 hasn't happened to me yet and hopefully it stays that way, but the comments? they'll come
just the other day i'm walking past this lady and her kid at Target and she loudmouths out, "look how much she swallowed," right in front of me. seriously pissed me off 😠

It honestly grates on my nerves how everyone starts acting all sympathetic the second I mention I’m due in a month, especially when they insist my bump looks way too SMALL

I totally get you. I’ve got about two and a half months left—basically three—and people at the office were still giving me those "where's the belly?" looks the other day. I should've just left it at home, goddammit. 🙄
