Are you really going to yell at them to get lost? I guess maybe you should!

hell no... if it's bothering me, I'll just move.... but I shouldn't have smoke drifting into my apartment... if you're gonna smoke, just do it inside, don't smoke by the window (since there's no balcony there) and annoy the neighbors who don't even smoke in their own place...
do whatever you want, honestly, I don't care, but when the smoke is forced into my place, yeah, I'm gonna lose it.
btw, I'm an ex-smoker, so yeah, it bugs me, and no, I never smoked inside my place....

Sophia Walker89 said:Ugh, oh man... I totally feel for you. It’s the exact same thing in my apartment in Chicago... every night around midnight, I get hit with this stench of cigarette smoke like someone is standing right in front of my window, and I'm on the 6th floor!!

it's gross... straight up in your nose... and you know how bad that smoke smells in an apartment where nobody even smokes...

The bloating is driving me crazy right now.
I used to complain about being gassy, but now I’m actually annoyed that I *can't* pass gas to get some relief.
My stomach looks like I'm 22 weeks along instead of just 6.
Oh, and the heatwave hitting overnight is a nightmare because my summer wardrobe is still in storage. I've been dragging myself around in a single skirt and these "jeggings"—honestly, I have mixed feelings about whoever invented those—so I definitely need to hit the mall soon to grab some actual summer clothes.

It doesn't bother my neighbors or any family coming over for a visit because they don't feel any pressure to light up in front of me. 😠 Sure, it's their house, but those types would probably try to light up at my place too. At first, we let them, but then I just had enough... I looked at my husband and told him, "Nobody is smoking in this house ever again!" 😠 And then I'm the one stuck airing out the place for days on end!
I really don't get how some smokers have the nerve to even ask if they can light up when they already know we don't smoke. We don't even keep an ashtray in the house.

What’s been driving me absolutely crazy over the last month, though, is this brutal bladder pressure 😢 ...it starts with this intense pressure, then I go use the bathroom, and then for a few minutes afterward, it hurts so bad I can barely walk. I guess the little guy just likes lying right on top of my bladder 😁

it's exactly the same here...

And about that bolded part, seriously, it's pure torture... ugh, such bad pain... the worst part is trying to roll over in bed... it's brutal...

I completely understand—neither my husband nor I smoke. I have never been a smoker myself, and he actually managed to quit about three and a half years ago...

I guess I'm not sure if I could actually stop someone from smoking right outside their own window, or
even better, on their balcony.
I'm a smoker myself, but whenever I visit a non-smoker's place, I always make sure to ask,
if it's alright to light up. If they say no, then no, I totally respect that.
Honestly, if you don't want me to smoke, that's perfectly fine by me.
But man, getting angry at someone just for smoking by their window...
For me, it's really annoying when a neighbor smokes by their window and then tosses their cigarette butts right into my backyard.

You can't forbid anyone from doing anything, obviously. But the point isn't about what they're doing at THEIR window—it's about the fact that the smoke drifts straight into SOMEONE ELSE'S apartment.
And regarding the underlined part... alright, I might be risking getting my head bitten off by some smokers ("shh," btw 🙄)—but people, do you realize this actually ISN'T polite?
Because, honestly, the mere act of ASKING is already doing us a massive favor. 🙄 And then you "respect" the answer? In someone else's home? Oh, wow, thanks a million!
To non-smokers, it stinks. S-T-I-N-K-S. For some, it's nauseating. For others, it causes actual health issues. If it didn't bother them, they'd probably just smoke in their own places too. And then, oh thank you so much, you ask. That’s usually what puts us in an awkward spot, because a lot of people feel too embarrassed to say "no" (especially after being "politely" asked) because they don't want to look like the bad guy. So they say yes. And then they're airing out their place until next Christmas.
I don't deal with "politeness"—I'm too much of a grouch for anyone to even bother asking anymore. If it doesn't work for you, don't come over. Simple as that.

Ugh, tell me about it. This heat caught me totally off guard too, and now I have zero clue what to wear. 🙂 My bump is getting huge... and it feels so stupid to drop a ton of cash on bigger sizes when I've only got about a month left of this pregnancy. I’ll probably just raid my husband's closet again for some leggings and shorts... 🥳

Signed!
When we first moved into our place, I felt so awkward telling smokers they couldn't smoke. But I've been a non-smoker my whole life, just like restlessheron51, and most of our group is the same way. Once I realized the joke was on me—that because of one single cigarette, I'd be stuck airing out the house for days, especially since I don't even have heavy curtains to trap odors—I banned smoking entirely. And then they actually had the audacity to act offended. 😲Like, what, we were allowed to do it before?!
To me, smoking right at the window is no different than having a neighbor throw a techno or country music party every single night. It's irritating, right? Well, it’s just as irritating to be boiling in your own apartment during a heatwave because someone lacks basic decency and is polluting your air.

Greetings... this is my first time posting here. My partner is currently fourteen weeks into her pregnancy. At the very beginning of this journey, our physical intimacy was perfectly normal, but lately, I’ve begun to sense a shift in her. We sat down to talk about it, and she explained that her desire for sex has simply vanished, and she doesn't seem to feel that same connection to me anymore. Is this a standard part of the process, or is something else occurring... thanks for any insight you might offer.

I agree with everything mentioned here, so let me weigh in too... I'm currently in a high-risk pregnancy because I had uterine surgery last year, which caught my doctors off guard since I'm only 27. Regarding this whole issue... I tell my best friend about it, and what does she do? She immediately goes out and buys a pacifier and baby bottles. WTF? And every single time we run into each other, she’s asking how the baby is or trying to rub my stomach... Honestly, I regret even telling her. What hurts most is that she just gave birth herself, so she knows exactly how supportive I was toward her—I never suffocated her with stuff like this. 😲😲😲

And there's more to complain about... specifically the sheer volume of diapers (they're basically turning into two Mount Everests now—my husband is thrilled, but he's not the one wearing them, damn it) and the fact that I can't get five hours of decent sleep without having to run to the bathroom constantly. :/

I know exactly how that feels. I’ve dealt with a high-risk pregnancy myself—or at least, that's how it looked for a while. Things have stabilized now, both for me and the baby, but it doesn't stop the constant irritation of everyone around me acting like I'm on my deathbed. Is there any way to get people to just treat you like a normal person again? 🙄
Listen, I’ve finally stopped letting things get under my skin. Honestly, the way I used to react... it just wasn't human anymore.

I am honestly so fed up with the people working for Verizon and T-Mobile.
They constantly harass me every time I step out of a Target or a local grocery store... or whatever shop I happen to be at.

Look, I get it—they’re just trying to make a buck. But if I’ve already made it clear I’m not interested, just leave me alone.

I have to admit, I’m feeling incredibly frustrated because I’ve somehow managed to drift into my tenth month of pregnancy 😁

🤦 what really gets to me is how stupid I am.
case in point: it took me four hours to realize what was weird here. 🙈

mistyskipper17... just a little piece of advice from my corner of the world—I truly believe your girlfriend is being sincere here and isn't just looking for an excuse to avoid intimacy. I’m actually pregnant myself right now, and while my own drive has been... well, non-existent (I practically have to force myself sometimes!), I think she might be feeling exactly what I am—a bit of anxiety regarding the baby's safety. Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I’d suggest going together to her next OB-GYN appointment. Just show up, sit in that waiting room, and then once you're in the exam room, lay all your cards on the table—both the valid worries and the silly, irrational ones. I suspect the doctor will reassure you both that it is perfectly safe to be intimate without any risk to the little one... anyway, I hope that helps even just a tiny bit. Good luck to you both...

My female coworkers and friends are really starting to get on my nerves with comments like this:

"Wait, you're still working?!" — I've been at it for months now. I'm 27 weeks along, and I have a desk job; it's not like I'm out in the fields or hauling heavy sacks of potatoes...

"Why haven't you gone on maternity leave yet?" — Well, I haven't even dealt with morning sickness, so...

"You should just rest, you'll need the energy".... I suppose I should just sleep all day to build up a reserve for when the baby actually arrives.

And then there are those who already have kids and give me that "it's such a beautiful thing" nonsense. It’s exhausting.

Add to that the fact that I can barely turn over in bed at night,

and my already low tolerance for stupidity is becoming non-existent.😂

Haha... too true.
The absolute worst part is definitely that "get some sleep now while you can" advice. As if I can somehow stockpile stamina for a rainy day... apparently, I should just hibernate like Sleeping Beauty until the labor starts.🙄 And let's be real—that kind of unsolicited advice usually comes from people who don't even have children themselves.

this was annoying me even before I was pregnant. Same goes for those phone telemarketers, financial advisors, and all that other nonsense where they just won't let you be until you basically tell them to get lost. One guy from a financial firm actually harassed me for weeks over the phone. He kept calling from different numbers once he realized I was dodging his initial calls (since he figured out I was ignoring him).
I honestly hate these kinds of jobs, and I hate the capitalism that created them. I guess I just can't bring myself to feel bad for the people doing it—I’d much rather go work as a janitor or an office clerk than grab someone by the sleeve and harass them trying to sell them something useless.🙄

yeah, and remember when we used to think those flyer guys on the street corners were irritating?..
