slybadger99 said:Haha, honestly, even we aren't entirely sure what's going on yet since my little one refuses to roll over just to show us 🤣

But based on one quick photo we caught, I'm pretty sure it's a boy!

It seems like everyone's first reaction when they see me is to ask "what happened??"

And some people don't even bother saying hello before they jump straight to comments like, "Wow, you haven't gained any weight at all!"

Well, I haven't, because I'm actually being really mindful of what and how much I eat!

Besides, why does anyone even care about my weight?? It's not like they're actually wishing for me to look like an elephant☕

I'm in the exact same boat
It's constant—comments like, "Oh, you didn't put on any weight," or "You've only got a little belly," or even, "Wait, we thought you'd have gained at least 40 pounds by now." 🙂 🙄

Honestly, I've always been a bigger girl and struggled with my weight—so I guess everyone just expected me to blow up like a balloon during this pregnancy. 🤷
Instead of being happy for me because things are going well, they just stare at me in total shock and disbelief.

Even my own family is acting surprised, though most of them are actually pretty thrilled about it...

The only one who gave me a hard time was my mother-in-law this past Sunday; she goes, "So, did your hips widen a little bit after all?"
I just shot her a look and told her no—it’s just the dress, especially since I'm still wearing my old underwear...

Honestly, she's just jealous because her 22-year-old daughter ended up looking like a balloon after her pregnancy...☕

And don't even get me started on all this obsession with weight.
When I was up at the trauma center right after the accident, some condescending doctor decided to ask me exactly how far along I was, so I told him six months, and then he actually had the audacity to ask if I was basing that on my OBGYN's word or just my own intuition. I told him it was the doctor, of course, and then he proceeded to lecture me on the standard duration of a pregnancy as if he were trying to figure out if my gynecologist was incompetent or something.🙄
Then, out of nowhere, he turns to me and says, "You should really be ashamed!" I just sat there looking at him, totally bewildered by his arrogance, while he kept going on about how shameful it was that my stomach looked so small at six months—basically implying I was underweight, questioning where the baby even was, and suggesting I should just start eating more. Honestly, I felt like grabbing something nearby and throwing it at him.
To top it all off, some guy at the ER actually had the gall to ask about my sex life, and when I told him I didn't see how that was any of his business, he started lecturing me on how "real men" treat women. I swear, I wanted to smack him right then and there if I hadn't been such a total wreck from everything else going on.😁

My mother caught me off guard today(😬). She said I haven't gained weight, my stomach just looks a bit larger.

I know she’s being honest; she never sugarcoats anything for me.😁😁

And my father-in-law is getting on my nerves again. He keeps hovering, lecturing me about not eating enough or acting like I'm starving myself. It's ridiculous. I can't eat every single time he feels like picking a fight. Besides, I have plenty of food; I don't need his permission or his handouts to eat. 🙄🙄

I hope this obsession with micromanaging me ends soon. I am tired of hearing his fixations. Today, I told him I can't have ice cream because I'll spike my blood sugar and end up in the Mayo Clinic. We'll see if that shuts him up for any length of time.

Thankfully, my mother-in-law isn't breathing down my neck. But I doubt that will last much longer...😢

edit—There. That was how long it took since I last explained my diet to him. "Oh, come on, you have to eat something, don't starve yourself..."

Whoever said he was charming should probably stay away from him for at least a week.☕

Honestly, I’m starting to get pissed off just thinking about it: how much longer?
And I’ll probably be stuck listening to this nonsense for days until she finally decides to get out there.

I know exactly what you mean. 🙂
It's even more intense for me since I'm having twins.

Heading out to Walmart now with the kid, my wife, and a bit of a baby bump. Let's see if they actually let me through the express lane for pregnant shoppers or if I get shut down. 🙂

It honestly drives me crazy that in my city, absolutely NOBODY gives pregnant women priority! 😠

It’s gotten to the point where even I’ve stepped aside to let an elderly lady cut in front of me at the doctor's office.

But what can you do? She looked like she was about to pass out right there, so I just told her, "Go ahead, ma'am, I'm doing fine." 🤷

It isn't even about being overly polite; I just really wish we had some actual sense of order around here. 😳 🙂

During my first pregnancy, I didn't get any preferential treatment whatsoever because my bump was so small nobody could even tell I was expecting.
Now that I'm on my second round, I seem to have a VIP pass everywhere I go. The other day, some old guy at Walmart went out of his way to help me carry my groceries, and it actually took me a second to remember I was even pregnant.

Honestly, don't even sweat it, just speak up and say, "Hey, I'm pregnant, could you let me go ahead of the line?" I actually managed to squeeze myself in like that once, even though I wasn't showing much yet, because I seriously just cannot deal with standing around waiting in line forever. 🙂😢

And don't even get me started on people grilling you about whether it's a boy or a girl, acting like we definitely know but are just being secretive, or those annoying comments about weight gain and stuff... 🙄

Probably nobody... everyone just ignores you. They probably think you have nothing better to do than wander around Walmart while pregnant. 🙂 😁

The absolute worst part was walking into Walmart feeling bloated and uncomfortable, only to have everyone act like I didn't exist instead of letting me cut ahead... plus all those comments about my age versus how far along I am. Even though I'm not exactly a kid anymore, when I had my first son...

So, you had your second at 24 and people actually had the nerve to tell you that you were too old???? Or maybe too young??? 🤔

For me, the absolute best part is when I'm heading toward the register, someone comes from the opposite direction, takes one look at my belly to size me up, and then just sprints right past me to cut in front of the line!😠

That ridiculous Dove commercial claiming it "nourishes my skin"—give me a break. My hands know the truth, my hips know the truth, my fingers know the truth, even my belly button can feel the lie. Aaaaaaaah! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I asked him about it the other day, and he just gave me this long, silent look from head to toe. After that intense stare-down, he finally let it slide. Does anyone else deal with that kind of silent judgment? 😳
It felt like he was scanning right through me. 🤮

Now I'm just rubbing my stomach, but even that isn't doing the trick.

Honestly, who cares? Let them do whatever they want. 🙂

People always grill me about my last name whenever I mention my maiden name. Honestly? I just tell them I’m still figuring it out myself, so we probably shouldn't spread it around just yet. That usually does the trick.
But I also notice that some people just assume the worst. They think to themselves, "Oh, they definitely know the answer, they're just being difficult." Why do we always jump to that conclusion?

I have certain perks at my local grocery store. The staff likes me because I don't lose my cool when the lines are long, and I frequently let elderly ladies cut ahead of me. Today, the cashier asked if I was pregnant. I told her yes. She just nodded and said, "Well, good to know." 🤣🤣

I am curious to see how they treat me next time I'm standing in line. 😬

As for my actual identity... only my family knows. 😁 Everyone else is entitled to nothing. 🥳

Public transit. I’ve got a total obsession with buses lately. Honestly, nobody’s even offered me a seat yet, and man, am I feeling it. It's fine though, I can still survive, even if I end up totally wiped out and aching all over. My mom always says 🙂
it’s bad luck to go begging for mercy.
🙂But get this,
yesterday... I was heading home from work, a seat finally opened up, and I happily plopped down. Then this guy walks up and demands I get up because his leg hurts. I’m thinking, "Seriously? You’re picking a pregnant woman to demand a seat from?" assuming he just didn't notice the bump. But nope, he just stands there staring at me, waiting. So what did I do? I told him, "Fine, here you go—I know exactly how it feels when nobody wants to give you their seat." This time I was thinking that since he's clearly an idiot, maybe the rest of the people on the bus aren't. He didn't even say thank you, and the others... honestly, he probably could have shot me, or someone else would've given me hell. 😢

Why don't my hormones make me feel angry instead of just wanting to burst into tears???
