What truly got under my skin—more than anything else—was the initial reaction from my own parents, with their incredibly foolish and shortsighted pressure for me to have a third child. Then came a nearly identical reaction from my mother-in-law... who, quite ironically, ended up telling everyone how much she was looking forward to this baby, just like she did with the others (which stands in such sharp contrast to my parents, who still judge me and don't even bother asking if the baby is doing okay)... and finally, there were those clueless women on this forum who clearly haven't a clue what they're talking about, offering nothing but mindless advice and judgment. So, that's the gist of it. Honestly, all the physical ailments and complications I've dealt with during this pregnancy haven't been nearly as infuriating as dealing with ignorant people like 🙂

Hey there,

So, my mother-in-law really pushed my buttons today. She actually had the nerve to suggest that my constant nausea and vomiting might just be "all in my head"...
It honestly drove me crazy. Neither she nor her daughter have ever dealt with nausea or vomiting, so now I’m apparently the weirdo because I've been stuck throwing up non-stop for eight whole weeks. I think it bugs her that every single time she checks in on me, my answer is always the same—I'm still sick.

Anyway, that's what set me off today.

Everyone seems to have an opinion on us buying a new stroller, and apparently, they aren't fans. 🙂

Honestly, I don't get it. Since you aren't the ones footing the bill, why does it matter? I don't judge anyone else for upgrading their car, buying a house, or even picking out new shoes. At the end of the day, it's our kid, our money, and our calls to make. I just don't see the issue. 🤷

Ugh, I've heard that line more than once... 🙂
We were down at my husband's grandparents' place by the coast, and his grandma would ask me every morning how I was feeling. Every time I told her I felt terrible, she’d just wave me off like, "Oh, stop exaggerating."🙂

And my mother-in-law is getting on my nerves again, trying to micromanage our baby names. Whatever name my husband picks for a girl, she decides it's the ugliest name on the planet, so she's already started listing her own "better" suggestions.🤦

Plus, my father-in-law is driving me crazy too. He hasn't even asked how I am once in four months. He can barely even bring himself to say the word "pregnant" or acknowledge I'm actually having a baby; he just brushes it off like, "When this phase passes."

Honestly, half of my husband's family is just exhausting... 😁

I guess I'm used to it by now... since the men in my own family are the same way. Even though everyone knows I'm pregnant... I don't know, maybe it's just guys... like they feel awkward asking or whatever. 🙄

If there’s one thing I learned from my sister-in-law’s pregnancy—and now my own—it’s that all these tropes are real and you honestly just have to tune them out. There’s always some mother-in-law who thinks she has a better name picked out, someone complaining about your morning sickness, people commenting on your delivery or breastfeeding, and don't even get me started when the car seat debate begins... Just Google whatever "advice" they throw at you and ignore the rest, especially when it's coming from family.....

Yeah, I know... easier said than done. I'm basically trying to turn it into a mantra in my head.😁

It’s honestly been such a shocker around here, people acting like we’re totally crazy for wanting to spend over 3 $0.00 on a stroller, especially when they claim there are plenty of cute ones for $1,000.

But I just can't see myself pushing my baby around in something that starts squeaking and falling apart after only three months of use...

And let's be real, our stroller is definitely going to be seeing a lot of miles on those neighborhood sidewalks...

Well, you should've told them there are great ones for $2667 too... 😁
I mean, if you're paying cash for a stroller out of your own pocket, that's nobody's business but yours...
Honestly, people can be so unbelievable sometimes....

but seriously, what kind of gorgeous 3-in-1 strollers are we talking about for $333??? and don't even mention Craigslist, because I have zero interest in buying stuff sight unseen without any actual protection—unless we're talking eBay, where you're at least somewhat covered, blah blah
ours are considered "cheap" compared to the average, yet somehow a few geniuses decided they could find them for $267.....

It honestly caught me off guard how much less mobile I am this pregnancy—it’s like I’m just totally incapable of getting anything done lately... 🤷 I mean, I just didn't think it would hit me this hard.

It’s actually driving me crazy that nothing is getting under my skin right now! 🙂

On a different note, regarding the whole belly thing... I haven't hit that stage yet, but once things start showing, I honestly hope I'll feel the urge to grab my stomach. Honestly, I'm already ready to reach out and give those same people a little poke on their stomachs too. I am soooo curious to see how they'd react! 😛

man, what a great topic... 😂

so glad this thread exists... seriously...
everything just gets on my nerves lately. like, my father-in-law won't shut up about how things "have" to be for a man... then my mom’s grandma acting like there's nothing to celebrate if it's a girl... and don't even get me started on my mother-in-law who couldn't care less about anything, so I know she's no help at all... plus that grandma judging me, saying I shouldn't even think about getting married until after I have kids, calling it "disgusting"... saying if I messed up, I need to repent... like, give me a break 😕 stop hitting me with all that religious stuff and all those lectures... it's constant. my hormones are finally settling down now, but last month around week 8? don't even ask how bad it was 🤣🤣
and honestly, his family has never thrown me off balance quite like they did the other day... I had a miscarriage once before and I specifically begged him not to tell a soul until I could get to the doctor and make sure everything was okay... then suddenly, boom, I'm getting flooded with congratulations and blah blah blah on Facebook... 🙂
I was in total shock, just disbelief... turns out my mom's grandma went and blabbed to his aunt and everyone else 🙂🙂🙂
like, stay out of my life. my baby, my business. and oh yeah, if it's a girl, we're throwing a huge party too 🤣🤣 ahhhh

Well, it doesn't even have to be a 3-in-1.

Honestly, you really don't need all three components; just having a solid jogging stroller is more than enough.

We ended up getting an AS stroller..

but we actually purchased a 3tec.

The latest trend seems to be people acting surprised that I'm cleaning the stroller... I mean, you aren't even going to take it out immediately anyway.

No, my little one is staying indoors until spring.

Though if we get a few beautiful sunny days, we might sneak out for a little stroll...

I’ve popped in here quite a few times before, and honestly, I always seem to run into someone else or encounter something that just gets under my skin... though, if I'm being totally real with myself, I think I'm my own biggest headache. This pregnancy is such a complete 180 from my last one—back then, everything was smooth sailing, but now? It feels like there's a new ache or discomfort every single day, and it's making me turn into such a total hypochondriac! You wouldn't believe some of the wild diagnoses I've been running through my head... oh man, it's been a ride. Every time my hip twinges, I feel like sprinting to my doctor or at least blowing up their phone. I swear, I probably can't wait to finally give birth just so I can stop bothering them! There are still three whole months left on this journey, so who knows what other imaginary ailments I'll dream up by then...🙄
p.s. My first baby came at 35 weeks, so I'm definitely feeling a bit extra cautious this time around, but hey, better safe than sorry, right?🤦

hahaha, I was actually emailing my OBGYN about absolutely everything too...

During one checkup, I even ended up apologizing to him, which just made him laugh...

But honestly, after hearing about that other woman last time—where her husband was calling the doctor just to ask if he was actually allowed to drive a car or sit in one—I realized my questions were at least somewhat "normal"...

You know, just the usual stuff about moving the baby around or dealing with cholestasis...

Then again, I’m the one footing the bill for every single ultrasound and appointment, so he might as well stay informed about what's happening with us☕

I really do drive myself crazy sometimes, though. I already told my husband that I can't wait to finally have the baby, mostly because I'm getting so tired of being on my own nerves...😬

I don't get why you guys bother telling anyone at all if you don't want the news spreading.
The first person I told about my pregnancy, besides my partner, was my boss at Starbucks. I let him know around week 8 so he wouldn't schedule me for those exhausting shifts traveling for work.
Then we told our parents, and we didn't mention anything to his grandparents until way later, around weeks 17 or 18.

Pregnancy itself doesn't bug me, but my current life situation is driving me crazy—unfinished home renovations, my partner's job being super unstable right now, and the fact that I can't seem to start my Master's thesis even though I finished my last exam ages ago...
So much stress, just so much...😢

So, a gynecologist told my friend: "Look, I’m a doctor, but I’m not *your* personal doctor" 🤣

Honestly, she's been dealing with so much lately—calling him constantly—so he just threw that out there to crack a joke... kind of a dry one, too

As for people touching my stomach? Yeah, if it's someone I actually care about, sure. But if they're already creepy or just gross? No thanks
