analognomad59 said:Ugh, honestly, it’s driving me crazy how much weight I’m putting on lately... and my better half? He’s constantly hovering with snacks, just like, "Go ahead, honey, grab some more," as if it isn't hard enough trying to stay disciplined on my own without him basically inviting me to an all-you-can-eat buffet every single night... 😬 I know he means well, really, he does, but I’ve already gained about 18 pounds since we started this, and at this rate, by the time the next 13 weeks roll around, I’m basically going to be a pro wrestler or something... 🙈 👎

Thank God I don't have that issue with my husband. He's known forever that I'm super sensitive about how I look and what the scale says, especially regarding weight gain (about 8 years ago I was around 160 lbs, but then during my pregnancy I dropped down to 115 lbs. Since losing those pounds, I really watch my body and the numbers)

My partner and I had a deal: I'm the one who knows best what my body needs. I am absolutely not "eating for two" and I'm definitely not starving myself either. Sure, we need to gain weight, but that's zero excuse to overdo it or use pregnancy as a free pass to binge

So you're 27 weeks along and you've gained 18 pounds? Honestly, that's nothing. Most doctors say gaining like 30 pounds is totally fine, and you usually don't balloon up nearly as fast in the last trimester as you did in the second anyway

I went through a massive weight spike in my first trimester (up 7 pounds, which is way too much since you aren't even supposed to be gaining much then). I was obsessed with pizza—I could have eaten it all day, just living for pizza and ice cream back then. So given that, it's not even surprising at all

I went through some pretty rough stuff with weight too... well, not necessarily being overweight—I was never really heavy—but more like struggling with eating disorders ever since middle school. Anorexia, bulimia, that whole mess. It never got to the point where I was permanently damaging my health, but I was left with a sensitive stomach and some enamel damage on my teeth...🙄 I spent my entire high school years just trying to rebuild my confidence regarding my appearance. I met my guy after high school, so he knows everything about my past just from hearing me talk about it... but he doesn't seem to mind at all...😬 It still gets to me sometimes, though, because he can see when I'm spiraling about it. He’s just not the type of guy who notices if a woman is five pounds heavier or lighter, or if there's a little bit of cellulite... he only really notices if it's a ten or fifteen pound difference, or things like a belly spilling over your jeans...😂 But lately, I've put on a fair amount in my chest area, so he actually seems pretty happy with how everything is looking...😂

It honestly drives me nuts when my mother-in-law starts lecturing me with that whole "don't overdo it, just sit down and relax" routine.
Man, screw that. I can't just sit on my butt all day—that’s actually worse for you. Besides, someone’s got to deal with this mess, and I can’t stand looking at a cluttered house.
It’s like she thinks our moms back in the day just spent their entire pregnancies napping. Give me a break. They were working way harder than we ever will.
The absolute worst part is when I’m mid-vacuuming, then I move on to mopping, and she’s just standing there acting like I haven't done enough. Like, excuse me? If I wasn't doing all this, this place would be a total disaster.

Steven Barrett6 said:I seriously hate these stupid stories about how you have to "eat for two." Like, people don't get that it's just a figure of speech? It drives me insane.
Modern medicine has moved way past that nonsense and actually knows what works and what doesn't
As if it isn't hard enough already dealing with obesity rates, now they want us all overeating too.
We eat exactly what we need to eat.

I think I read this somewhere once, though I can't quite recall where...
Sure, technically, a pregnant woman is eating for two, but let's be real: one of those two is a tiny little baby whose nutritional needs aren't exactly comparable to those of a fully grown adult.
So, fine, you could say a pregnant woman "eats for two" because her requirements are higher than they were before, but she isn't eating enough food for two adults.

At the end of the day, we are eating for our babies; nobody else is eating on their behalf. We just shouldn't feel obligated to overindulge just because of them!

It honestly drives me crazy how my weight just refuses to settle evenly... like, I’ve got these super skinny arms, back, and waist, plus a totally flat stomach... the only thing that really stands out is my chest, which has always been at least a C or D cup 😍 then on top of that, I have wider hips that pick up any extra weight way too easily, making them look even broader, and when you add a little extra to my butt in combination with those hips, I end up looking like a massive three-door SUV 😬

And then, once my hips and butt finally settle into something somewhat normal, all the bones in my spine and ribs start sticking out everywhere 😲 but the second I put on a few pounds, my upper body looks absolutely skeletal while my hips and backside look huge 👎 I feel like I’d need to be working out constantly just to keep my lower half in check without looking like a stick up top, but honestly, I just can't find the motivation... so I just end up oscillating between having a tiny frame and wide hips, or being skinny on top with heavy hips 😬

I have to be honest, this constant hunger is driving me absolutely insane! It’s honestly getting a bit depressing at this point because I feel like I need to be snacking every single second just to function...🙄
Does anyone know if this massive appetite eventually settles down, or am I just looking at a permanent buffet? I'm currently in my 8th or 9th week.

Don't sweat it, it definitely dies down.🙂
I went through a phase where my hunger was totally out of control,
I'd wake up in the morning feeling like I hadn't eaten in days—if I didn't grab something immediately, my hands would literally start shaking and stuff.
Now everything is back to normal, pretty much how it was before I got pregnant.

It honestly drives me crazy when people constantly ask if I’m "doing okay," as if being pregnant is some kind of debilitating illness rather than just life. On top of that, everyone seems to think my boyfriend and I are suddenly obligated to rush down the aisle just because there's a baby on the way.

And then there's him. It's so frustrating because whenever I do something he doesn't like, he immediately brushes it off by blaming it on my pregnancy or my hormones.😳

So, yeah, 😉

My mother-in-law made this comment about how my legs look really thick and suggested that maybe a longer dress would be more flattering 😢—and honestly, it just leaves me feeling terrible, like I’m out of shape and just... unattractive 😢

copperjackal49, I really think you should try to tune out the noise from people who don't actually have anything meaningful to contribute to the conversation.

Who cares what she thinks? You're pregnant, for crying out loud.
Seriously, these older folks think everything is too much nowadays. Don't let her get under your skin.

I am honestly at my breaking point with my husband.😠

First off: I get home from visiting my mom yesterday and find him face-deep in dried figs. Look, there’s nothing wrong with eating fruit, but he went to the grocery store and picked up three massive bags of them, plus five other little snacks that I don't even touch. And then he has the nerve to tell me he bought them for me. He knows perfectly well that I have a sweet tooth, yet he didn't even bother to pick up a single chocolate bar.

Second: I was over at my niece's place and saw this incredibly clever, practical changing table (she’s just borrowing it for now). It’s wide and deep enough that you can actually keep all your diapering supplies right on the surface. So, I start explaining the logic behind it to my husband, and all I get back is a hollow "uh-huh." Then, just as I'm getting into the specific dimensions and why the size matters, he cuts me off with, "Why do you need such a massive thing? Are we changing an elephant?" 😠
He didn't listen to a single word I said about the utility of the table or why having that extra space is necessary.
It feels like he has zero interest in helping me make any actual decisions—whether we should buy one or build one... in all this baby preparation, I feel like I'm doing it entirely alone.😠

Third: I needed a new ironing board. We went to Target, and since I wasn't looking to blow a huge chunk of change, I grabbed a cheaper model. Turns out, it’s completely unstable. It wobbles left and right, and when I applied a little pressure while testing it out, the whole thing sank nearly six inches before bouncing back.
I asked him to take a look and see if it could be tightened or stabilized—because apparently, he doesn't consider the fact that we might need to return it to the store 🙄—and instead of helping, he starts lecturing me. He tells me what I want, claims that's just how these cheap boards are made, and implies nothing can be done. Basically, he’s making it my fault for choosing the budget option, even though if I had bought the expensive one, he would have complained about the price tag all day anyway.

Anyway, I'm done. No more laundry, no more ironing, I'm officially retiring from all household duties. I truly don't care anymore... I honestly wonder how people manage to function in this world.

I suppose I'm not even angry anymore; I'm just so exhausted and pathetic that I can barely see the keyboard through the tears.

Taylor Swift 🙂 don't be sad...that's just how our guys are...

Honestly, I’m still getting worked up over those old ladies on the subway who practically hover right in my face while I’m sitting there. Like, could you maybe move? And then when I finally decide not to get up for them, they start muttering under their breath about me. I swear, I'm losing my patience with them..

Honestly, I’m just exhausted by the total lack of effort on his part.

It seems like building some ridiculous custom shed for his lawnmower is suddenly more important than anything else, while I'm apparently expected to just change the baby on the floor.

I swear, nothing gets under my skin faster than people who cough or sneeze right in your face—or even worse, smokers blowing clouds directly down your neck—without even thinking to cover their mouths. 🙄🙄
Honestly, even a random dog sneezing on the sidewalk next to me yesterday was enough to push me over the edge. 🙄

Look, Michael Barrett11, I’m sorry you feel that way, but honestly? Who cares about him. Buy yourself a damn chocolate bar and call it a day; he doesn't need a thing. As for the premature baby, just go out and get it—demand exactly what you want, this one and that one. How you manage to pull it off isn't my business.😳

Taylor Swift, seriously, go grab a massive stash of your favorite chocolates right now 🙂

I totally get how hard it is to just brush it off when our partners act like this. Honestly, you'd probably rather just 🙂

But please, stop trying to argue. As pregnant women, we’re already stretched thin enough as it is—if you try to push back, you'll just end up getting pushed around even more 😉
And don't worry about the baby being early; if you have your heart set on something specific, just go out and buy it or borrow it. He'll probably have forgotten you even mentioned it by then anyway...

Now get moving and go find that chocolate!!! 🙂

Hey Taylor Swift, you’ve gotta realize our husbands can be such carefree idiots that it almost hurts, but honestly, it isn't worth stressing over. Just take it easy...
he might finally feel bad about what he did today, but by tomorrow, he'll be right back to his old ways. That's just how they are, and we just have to live with it.

I just don't have the energy to try and talk to him anymore.
It feels like he doesn't even hear a word I say when I'm talking to him.
The second he's done with work, his brain just checks out completely. He doesn't give a damn about anything I tell him; I guess he just thinks he deserves to shut his brain off and relax.
Either that, or he just has no interest in actually talking to me.
