Honestly, my favorite line from Die Hard is something along the lines of
'Those terrorists have enough firepower to blow up even Arnold Schwarzenegger' haha
🙏🙏🙏🙏
👍👍👍👍Schwarzenegger turned down the role of John McClane in Die Hard (1988). The role went to Bruce Willis instead. Ironically, Bruce Willis has a line in the film where he says that the terrorists "have enough explosives to orbit Arnold Schwarzenegger". *Man, Alan Rickman totally crushed it in the first one playing the villain Hans🙏
Michael Mitchell69 said:Oh, please. Don't give me that "she wasn't dressed modestly" excuse. The outfit she was wearing was clearly designed to highlight every single one of her attributes. 😁
To be honest, I’m not a huge fan when she shows up on screen. It’s hard to actually focus on the movie or the other characters once she’s in the frame.
Alright... I mean, she's definitely a total knockout... but my absolute favorite scenes of hers have to be from We Own the Night, Training Day, or 2 Fast 2 Furious. Don't get me wrong, she's not bad😁 in Out of Time... but those other ones are just easier on the eyes for me.😁👍
Michael Mitchell69 said:Let's not forget old-school Morgan Freeman. If I actually had to make a choice based specifically on African American actors, he’s easily my pick for the best. Honestly, he’s probably sitting right there in my top 10 greatest actors of all time. Freeman rules. ☕
Absolutely.👍And regarding that whole Eva Mendes thing—she’s such a MILF, but in *Out of Time*, her sex appeal just doesn't really pop. Since she’s playing a detective, she isn't exactly dressed to kill, you know? Plus, it's pretty obvious she loves acting alongside Denzel—between *Training Day* and *Out of Time*, the man can't seem to stay away from her.😁
🙄Man, without Chow-Yun Fat, they wouldn't have even been able to pull off half the action we saw in those scenes Hard Boiled - Teahouse Shootout The Killer (1989) - House Shootout A Better Tomorrow 2 Showdown
Look, everyone’s entitled to their own take! I mean, saying Sidney Poitier is one of the greatest and most iconic Black actors out there? That’s just facts... though if we're looking past the old-school classics, that one movie with the sneakers really stuck with me. Personally, I think Morgan Freeman takes the win—the man has at least eight absolute masterpieces under his belt... but what about now? As for Se7en being overrated, the only way I could see that happening is if people are just obsessed with it because it's trendy... you know, like a hype thing from the last decade... but seriously, has anyone actually come out and said Se7en was mediocre or just bad? 😁 *If I remember right, even in that movie The Butterfly Effect, kids are heading to the theater specifically to watch Se7en😁🙏
He’s easily one of my all-time favorites!!! Just look at those movies: 🙏The Shawshank Redemption , Outbreak, Amistad, Se7en, Unforgiven, and Along Came a Spider🙏—plus he had some really solid roles in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Lucky Number Slevin. Man, what a legend.🙏🙏
Michael Mitchell69 said:Props to Denzel—I respect him immensely as an actor—but I still can't get over that movie because of Eva Mendes. She was such a knockout in that film, honestly, it's enough to get someone banned from the forum.🤣
Man, now I'm actually gonna go rewatch that flick😁...if I remember right, it's pretty solid...and yeah, at least we can all agree on Eva Mendes😂🙏
cosmiclynx57 said:Good old VHS tapes... pure nostalgia, man. Real memories right there. 😉
Haha, I can't even tell you how many times I've rewatched that final scene. It happens so often where that one moment just makes me want to sit down and watch the whole movie all over again, because that scene hits way harder when you actually build up to it through the rest of the film, you know?
Speaking of great scenes, I absolutely love the one where Michelle Rodriguez races against that creepy, aggressive guy, tells him "See ya," and then just rips it using that NOS shit. 😂🙏

Dominic Toretto: I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.

Quote: Letty: [to Dom] You look a bit tired... I think you should go upstairs and give me a massage.
Ooh, pick me, pick me! 😁 If I were the one giving her that "massage," man... 😉
Quote: Letty: You want a piece of ass, go to Hollywood Boulevard. You want an adrenaline rush that'll be two large.
That’s what she told that greasy, aggressive jerk before she totally smoked him, leaving him standing there just staring at the smoke from her tires as she disappeared into the distance. 😂
I remember feeling the exact same way when I picked up my first DVD—it was some Samsung player... back then, video rental stores hadn't even switched over to DVDs yet. Then after a little while, movies like Predator started showing up... I grabbed Predator, and at the rental shop, you know how it goes, they’re just like "it's a DVD"—and I was like, "just give it to me" 😂-seriously, just hand it over😁. Pretty soon, F&F arrived and it absolutely blew my mind... watching that on a DVD was something else... honestly, hard to put into words... though nothing beats those old Blitz Distribution tapes 🙏... you know, when you had to use Scotch tape to fix the little plastic tabs on the cassette just so you could actually record over them. Hahaha
🙄👍...we really ought to start a thread dedicated to the greatest action heroes ever—just so we don't end up jumping all over the place from one topic to another😁 *not that I'm delusional or anything, there's still about 16 people out there who think Cobra is the absolute peak. xD
Quick side note—does anyone else here think Cobra is actually Stallone's best work🙏? Everyone always jumps straight to Rambo or Rocky... which, yeah, obviously great roles, but man, I thought he was phenomenal in Cobra! Then you've got Schwarzenegger as Conan, his role as Dutch in Predator😁, and Terminator—you just can't top those. He's truly one of a kind🙏. On another note—Hudson Hawk and Striking Distance are solid early 90s Willis flicks, but they definitely get overlooked compared to the rest of his stuff
Dana Murphy4 said:I guess he might be one of the best action actors out there, at least in my opinion 😁 If I had to pick his absolute best work, it would probably be 😉
That one actually caught me off guard... after that third movie was kind of a letdown, this one is just totally wild! It's not that Die Hard with a Vengeance is bad or anything, but that's the only one I haven't rewatched more than five times... whereas I've seen the first two way too many times. For some reason, DWV just sticks in my head more—those Simon Says bits and everything.😁 *Why does Willis seem to have such an issue with alcohol in most of his movies?🤣🙏He's basically got the perfect profile and charisma for a functional alcoholic.😁
First row is always the best... what absolute classics🙏. For me, Die Hard 2 is peak action—it’s got that legendary actor and just great movies overall🙏. And don't even get me started on his quotes! If I actually had to pick a winner, it would be a dead heat between The Fifth Element and Twelve Monkeys for his best🤷
Michelle Rodriguez definitely has that killer look 🙂 that just gets you going, and I've gotta admit, I find her incredibly sexy. 👍 But... if we're being totally real, Jordan Brewster is the absolute hottest girl in F&F for me—I absolutely adore her. 🙂😍
Speaking of watching them, I’ve already binged the first one 14 times up until this year, and then 2 more times just this year, which brings my total count for F&F1 to 16 times. I’m actually planning on a third viewing just this year, so that'll bring me to a grand total of 17!
heh... man, I first saw this back on VHS... then a bit later when DVDs were the big thing... that was something else. I've probably replayed those main race scenes and the ending over 20 times... xDD especially on a solid Hi-Fi 5.1 system... oh man... and that scene... where the Chinese guys take out that mechanic... right when Diesel goes full throttle in that Ford... and once he cranks it up... my jaw just hit the floor.😁
WarMaster As stated by: 👍Well, when you look at the landscape of talent, Samuel L. Jackson stands out as one of those rare exceptions to the rule. It’s funny how certain actors just possess that innate ability to command a room, regardless of the script, and he is certainly one of them. I was thinking about this the other day while I was driving through the suburbs, wondering how some performers manage to stay so consistently relevant across so many different genres. It isn't easy to maintain that kind of presence.😁
There are still those who refuse to embrace that truly repulsive style, though I suppose when you consider Morgan Freeman, he’s part of that old guard—but then again, there are always those stubborn old relics who simply fall for it regardless. 😁While you have the heavyweights like Laurence Fishburne, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Forest Whitaker to look up to, I’ve been noticing that this newer generation of actors is increasingly adopting a certain tasteless and frankly irritating way of carrying themselves. It’s becoming quite difficult to ignore. 👎
How could I have forgotten 🙏Morgan Freeman😁... man, I'm such an idiot
