Our guys are playing their second-round matches at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, which holds about 13,200 people. Honestly, though, there’s no way they’re going to get anywhere near the kind of home-court energy we saw back at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart. - "The Danes were handed 10,000 tickets here. We're going to try to buy up whatever the Norwegians have left since they're already out, but whether we can actually pull that off remains to be seen," said Damir Poljak, the Secretary General of the USA Handball Association.
Bantours grabbed about a hundred tickets for each game, but those are already gone. - "The USA Handball Association didn't get a single ticket allocation for Mannheim. At this rate, we'll have to send a formal protest letter to Hassan Moustaf, the President of the International Handball Federation," noted Zoran Gobac, the Vice President of the USA Handball Association.
With general sales completely sold out in Mannheim, our fans are essentially locked out. Based on what I'm hearing, we might only see 500 or 600 Americans showing up to cheer them on. (dm)
Scholl is dealing with a guy who’s easily 260 pounds and built like a grizzly bear. When he jumps to make a save, he basically uses his entire lower body to cover the bottom half of the net, while his hands just snatch anything coming in above the midline.
Honestly, you can't even put Scholl in the same sentence as him.
Let’s be honest, Solomon was more of a steady presence than a world-class keeper.
The team just felt more secure having him back there, period. But let's not kid ourselves—he wasn't elite level.
If you want to talk about actual world-class talent, look at Puljezevic. I caught him playing recently in the Dallas vs. Houston matchup, and man, he was absolutely dialed in. I honestly thought he’d be the ultimate wildcard against the Canadians. Or take Szmal, for instance; that guy was practically a brick wall against the Swedes.
We actually have someone with that kind of potential right here in the States, but they're sitting in the stands for now. Unfortunately, they're still too young—21 is just way too early to expect greatness from a goalie. People are going to start losing their minds and demanding results immediately, though.
Honestly, I just concluded that Lino is totally nitpicking about this defense—now suddenly we can't play any kind of aggressive man-to-man without Davor on the floor.
Cut him some slack, Lino, and just put Anusic in there, especially since you were already coaching him during the World Cup. To be honest, I highly doubt anyone actually knew about Davor’s medical situation. There were rumors floating around that he got his test results a full week before the public found out, which might explain why they were pushing Anusic so hard.
For those who haven't read the thread yet, or if you're easily annoyed by reading long rants, here's the deal regarding the Danes. Forget everything Roger Allen3 wrote 😁 just move on from the whole Denmark situation, thanks. 😁
But how am I supposed to churn out enough posts about handball and all these other sports topics just to get through half my usual volume before I can finally jump into 😁 ? So, here’s the inside scoop: Alilovic is heading to the bench, and Linus still hasn't made up his mind about who's sitting out on the sidelines. It'll most likely be Losert. Even though Linus isn't exactly known for showing his hand early, so there's a chance we might see Losert back in the net again :роллеyес:
There's more going on regarding the tactical side of things, but I'm not ready to dive into that just yet.😁
Once again, David tested positive for something on the banned list, but we’re talking about an ingredient found in basic over-the-counter stuff like Max Flu—you know, those cough and cold medicines you grab at CVS.
It isn't doping, plain and simple.
Nobody is actually claiming the Spaniards planted the results, but what nobody can wrap their heads around is why the results were released this Thursday instead of last year when they SHOULD have been reported.
Nathan Kern9 said:And honestly, if I were just making stuff up, I'd be kidding myself. I live and breathe American handball—it’s my actual job, and I know this sport inside and out.
Believe it or not, you aren't the only one thinking this way.
We'll see how things play out, obviously. There's plenty of time left on the clock. I'm not interested in going back and forth trying to prove anyone wrong; I just don't have the energy for it.
They’ve already lost their minds over here. Ivan was up crying all night long, just non-stop. Every time David finally settles down, Ivan starts up again—it's a never-ending cycle.
The Spanish team will take the field, assuming we don't get absolutely steamrolled by Morocco first, because if that happens...
Look, David isn't actually at fault here. He was just taking some over-the-counter cold medicine—something for his throat. Turns out, one of the ingredients in that stuff is on the banned substances list.
The way I see it, you could take some nasal spray, a throat lozenge, or even a damn Advil, and they’d still flag you for a positive test. I’m betting David makes a comeback in the second half, and when he does, he’s going to absolutely demolish the Spanish team.
Has anyone caught that interview with Jomba on the VL portal? There’s this one part halfway through where you can see David Miller explaining the mechanics of how someone actually fights their way toward the goal. 😬
The man is a legend. We're definitely going to miss him.
Justin Ward4 said:I really want to know how one ''"serious"'' news outlet can print such wild speculation about people in Spain?? Pay attention to those quotes—it’s because the New York Post is anything but serious. It feels like they just publish whatever random thought pops into their heads, almost like they're running a 24-hour tabloid cycle.
And hold on, isn't it a bit weird that this test was conducted, what, six months ago, and we're only just now seeing results coming out of Spain?
It’s absolutely critical that we decide who gets to kick off this thread. 😁
Let's just lay all the cards on the table right now—or maybe just dump the beans. I don't want anyone trying to sneak around or play games behind my back.
