Are you guys actually watching this stuff lately? 😍 😍
Tessa in Movies ·
Yeah, having that surname really was her undoing... total disaster. Anyway, I watched the series ages ago and honestly? It was way better than the movie version. I caught it on PBS during one of those late-night marathons where they just roll one series after another all night long...

Kate Booth said:There's this little film series running from July 5th to the 10th at 8:00 PM, hosted by the Alliance Française (or some similar group)

The main thing is they're showing Tess of the d'Urbervilles (Nikki Kinski) on Tuesday... 👍

Wait, are we talking about Tess of the d'Urbervilles?

I always give it one more wipe down just to be safe. Honestly, I have no clue what they're using for cleaning products, but they don't even have a scent... definitely doesn't smell like those heavy-duty disinfectants you'd find at a CVS.

Brenda Nelson5 said:You really have to wash everything off your skin first... best to just do it right before you hop in the shower. Don't go slathering on lotions or anything like that. Once you're done tanning, just hit it with a good nourishing cream and call it a day.
Yesterday, some girl in the high-speed vertical bed ahead of me actually fainted... turns out it was her first day of her period and she decided *that* was the perfect day to hit the tanning salon😲 ...I honestly couldn't believe my eyes!
It gets seriously hot in there, though... I'm not even sure if I can handle 10 minutes next time... at least I know I can just bail whenever I want.😉

I don't get why it's so hot for you guys. I just crank up the fans and it's fine.

Heading home in a couple of hours... it’s gonna be even colder by then.

Betty Bennett10 said:Yeah, unfortunately, that's just the reality... people always assume it's mostly young girls getting abortions, but that’s actually not even true. It’s sadly used as a form of birth control way too often. 😢 I mean, what are you supposed to do in that situation? I don't know—I'm completely pro-choice because the alternative is honestly so much worse.

I don't really know what to do about it either. I feel like maybe we shouldn't underestimate their mental state, though... it doesn't seem like they all have massive psychological issues. But man, just look at the three-year-old you already have sitting there, and then you just go through with an abortion anyway... even when you know that one day, that's going to be a three-year-old just like the one at home. It's just so irresponsible...

One doctor mentioned to me that the largest group of women getting abortions are actually those who end up married or in long-term relationships with kids later on—basically, they feel like they just "missed their shot" at that life path.
If those statistics are actually accurate, then women following that specific path should... I don't want to say blame or point fingers, but there's a certain level of responsibility there that carries more weight than it does for a sixteen-year-old girl.

And before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm not advocating for a ban!

I head to a quick 15-minute tanning session once a week... the color actually stays put, so I’m pretty happy with it.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 in Movies ·
Finally got around to watching the movie. It’s watchable, I guess, but nothing to write home about.
A few scenes are just irritatingly stupid and naive. For instance, right at the start when they're fighting, the Black girl grabs the box of cereal, shoots, and misses...😲 I mean... honestly, the movie should have ended right there with our Ume being carried out. Then she just stands there, all withered, badgering the medic...
And those sword fighting scenes? Way too long. Just dragged on forever.

ah, I’ve got my own little theories on all this, but I think I’ll just keep them to myself... 👋

Nathan Collins2 said:I honestly have no clue how I managed to drop 13 pounds and three dress sizes on that diet... I really don't know.😁 maybe my inner demon just decided to manifest as weight loss instead of actual calories🙄 😁

My whole point is that any reduction in calorie intake leads to losing weight. The soup itself doesn't magically melt fat away... it’s just the calorie deficit. Nothing more, nothing less.

A chicken noodle soup recipe works just the same as having strawberries with cheese, yogurt, hot dogs, mozzarella and tomato, tuna, or basically any light dinner you can grab.
Cutting calories makes you lose weight, and working out speeds things up... obviously.

But let's be real, most crash diets end up being a total waste of time.

look, if I can lose weight just by eating this, 😂 then I’d much rather stick to a chicken noodle soup recipe than deal with the misery of running laps around Central Park!

starting tomorrow... hopefully...

(lord knows how much sweat I've wasted for nothing 😁 )

Good grief, I don't get any of you... Honestly, what's wrong with you people? How is a little fresh cheese and strawberries for dinner not considered the perfect late-night meal?
Abs workout tips? in Health ·
Here’s my routine: I lie on my back, legs up in the air, and lift my torso... maybe 6 to 8 reps per set. Then I switch over to just lifting my hips to hit the lower abs. I just keep going with as many sets as I can, alternating between those upper and lower ab moves.
Abs workout tips? in Health ·
Yeah, I’m the same way... just cranking through sets until I hit a wall, maybe three or four heavy series at most. Then I’ll throw in some side work and some lower ab stuff too. But honestly, if your stomach is covered by a spec, you won't see a damn thing anyway.
Sauna etiquette and tips in Health ·
It hasn't been that long since I stayed at this hotel that had both a sauna and a heated pool. I just rotated between them—making sure to hit the shower before jumping into the pool, obviously. Spent the entire afternoon just lounging in the water and hanging out by the edge. It was packed...
The sauna was a classic Finnish style, set at 80 degrees. I did about four rounds, staying in for maybe 15 or 20 minutes each time. I made sure to sit on my towel...

restlessmarlin6 said:Melissa Cruz2, look, I get it... but sometimes life just happens and you don't have the luxury of hitting the gym and prepping gourmet meals every single day...

The real trick is just having something on hand... a banana, some fruit, maybe a yogurt with probiotics... something to keep your metabolism from stalling. If you hit five or six small snacks, you can easily clock those 1200 calories without feeling like you're actually starving or passing out...

restlessmarlin6 said:How on earth have you stuck to this diet for two whole weeks already???? 😲>

So I'm walking around town today, the weather is absolute trash, and honestly, I just feel miserable... dizzy, lightheaded, plus I am STARVING and apparently I'm not allowed to eat a single thing! 😲

I don't know if I could actually pull off two full weeks straight... maybe with a break—but two weeks without stopping? No way.

Martine, please explain to us women why keeping our metabolism steady 🙏 is so important... avoiding those spikes and crashes.
