For anyone looking to whip this up:

5 heads of onions
2 green bell peppers
half a pound of chicken
1 large celery stalk
1 large head of cabbage
2-3 bags of barley or lentils
2 beef bouillon cubes

Let it simmer for about an hour and a half.

1 large onion

So that would be six onions—one large one and five small ones? 😁 😁 😁

My recipe calls for a head of cabbage, not lentils.😉

Justin Gonzalez87 said:So, does that mean 6 onions total, like one big one and five small ones?😁 😁 😁

My version actually calls for a head of cabbage instead of lentils.😉

Oh, my bad!😁 😁

It’s actually five onions and one head of celery.😵

Spot on.
Forget beef bouillon; just use onion broth.
Season it with some plant-based salt,
then just shovel it in by the gallon.
It basically has negative calories!

By the way, what on earth is Pilates?

Jacob Wilson50 said:Anyway, what's a "pelati"?

Canned peeled tomatoes, most likely.😁
Though—honestly—you’re better off just using fresh tomatoes.😉

I made a massive pot of that soup and strategically portioned it out for seven days. My husband tried some, loved it far too much, and ended up eating the whole batch.😢 😁
I’ve been planning to whip up another batch for months😁 to finally start some kind of diet.🙄
Well, summer is still a long way off.😁 😁

After my first baby, I managed to lose about six pounds in a week—just by eating the soup and fasting.😁 Not exactly my style, though.🙄

How much were you actually making at once? Seriously, what kind of pot are we talking about here... a giant industrial drum?

My boss has dropped a significant amount of weight thanks to this chicken noodle soup recipe.

Basically, whenever she starts putting on a few extra pounds, she just whips up a batch of this soup and sheds it all off in no time at all.🙂

Alright, let's get down to business and provide an ACTUAL chicken noodle soup recipe, and make sure all the ingredient names are listed in American English.

I stumbled upon this initially:

It’s best to prep the soup two days in advance.

You will need:

1 head of cabbage, 2 bell peppers, 250g of celery root, 250g of carrots, and 150g of onions. Clean and wash the vegetables, toss them into a large pot, add enough water to cover everything, and boil for 45 minutes. Stir in a packet of bouillon, mix thoroughly, and simmer for another 10 minutes. Season with soy sauce. Store the soup in the fridge and reheat it daily.

Even this isn't particularly clear. For instance, "one head of cabbage" could easily mean 2 lbs. On top of that, there's no mention of which brand of bouillon to use. And why even bother using a bouillon packet in the first place?

Here is the real deal recipe:

6 large onions
1 head of cabbage
2 cans of peeled tomatoes
2 green bell peppers
1 bunch of celery
1 bouillon cube

seasoning (to taste):

pepper
salt
parsley
Tabasco
garlic to taste
and maybe some chili flakes

Chop the veggies and boil them over high heat (10 mins). After that, simmer on low until everything gets soft.

The more soup you eat, the more weight you lose. BUT!!!

You have to stick to this diet plan:

DAY 1:

All fruit except bananas.
Soup.

DAY 2:

As many veggies as you want, preferably lots of greens (lettuce, cabbage, spinach, etc.), canned or fresh.
Beans, peas, and corn are off limits.

Soup.

Dinner: one large baked potato with a little butter.

P.S.: No fruit allowed.

DAY 3:

Eat as much soup, fruit, and vegetables as you want (obviously—still don't touch the forbidden foods from the previous days).

After three days, you'll already be down about 6 or 7 pounds.

DAY 4:

Eat 3 bananas with skim milk throughout the day.
Soup.

Drink plenty of water. (this is crucial)

DAY 5:

300 to 450 grams of meat or fish with one can of peeled tomatoes (or 6 fresh ones).
Soup.

Drink at least 6 - 8 glasses of water.

DAY 6:

Vegetables and meat as much as you want.

Soup.

DAY 7:

Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice, and as many vegetables as you want.

Soup.

🙂

You can drop about 15 pounds in just seven days.

The rules: no alcohol, no sparkling water, and absolutely no sugary drinks.
If you decide to drink, wait at least 24 hours after finishing the diet first.

If you end up losing more than 15 pounds, take a week-long break.

Personally, this isn't for me. First off, I’m not a big meat eater, and I can't survive without pasta.

Second—the soup is pretty intense, and I have a sensitive stomach.

I managed to lose 10 pounds in five days, but I felt like absolute garbage.

My mom loves it, though. She’s lost over 20 pounds a few different times (and she didn't even follow all the rules—she kept sweetening her coffee and drinking soda).

Anyway, this diet is mostly recommended for heart patients prepping for surgery.

Thanks, but NO!

😁

You haven't heard of it?

It's basically... hmm... something along the lines of how every food item burns off a certain amount of calories in your body just to be processed.
Those negative ones are the foods that supposedly burn more calories during digestion than what they actually contain. I don't know the exact details, but I guess that's the gist of the definition...

As for the soup... my mom made me this massive pot of chicken noodle soup five years ago and ended up tossing the whole thing, because... well, I didn't really like it. 😁

The chicken noodle soup recipe is simmering on the stove. Tomorrow is the big kickoff. 😁

Honestly, if you want this soup to actually taste like something, you can't skip the celery. It’s easily the most important part. 😁
