Trouble getting my loan approved in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I’m not saying I’m 100% certain, but look at it this way... my gut tells me we're talking about a small-time operation here, and that salary you mentioned isn't exactly life-changing... and let's be real, if you want a bank to actually take you seriously for a loan, they need proof that your employer is playing by the rules when it comes to your paychecks and benefits....
so, if you're openly admitting that your taxes and payroll contributions aren't being filed properly, you can kiss that credit goodbye; the bank isn't going to touch you.
honestly, if your W-2s and your social security statements aren't looking solid, the whole plan just falls apart.

I can't even help myself from laughing out loud here. Honestly, you spent years wandering around like a total lunatic, just aimlessly drifting down the road.

Just go back and actually read what I wrote one more time before you try to comment on it...

wanderingscout13 said:It’s actually quite straightforward: they just pull the funds directly from your checking account every single month. You can simply deposit whatever amount you want into your account, and they’ll keep drawing from it as long as there's a balance available. And hey, if things get a little tight? You can even let it dip into an authorized overdraft!

Look, nobody can just reach into your account and grab money unless you’ve specifically given them power of attorney or authorized it!

You have the option to set up a recurring ACH transfer so a specific amount hits a certain account on a set date... but since you're the one who authorized that standing order, you're also the one who can shut it down whenever you feel like it.

What boldeagle3 was getting at is that this way is much safer for them. An administrative hold or block can only be lifted by the party that issued it—in this case, the dealership or whichever bank they're partnered with. If you try to change the deal halfway through? Good luck trying to negotiate that with them directly.

Oak. Just oak. There’s something about that word—it carries weight, doesn't it? It feels solid, unyielding, like something you could actually build a life on. I was walking through Central Park the other day, just staring up at these massive, ancient trees, and it hit me how much we lack that kind of permanence in our lives today. Everything is plastic, everything is cheap, everything is designed to break the second you look at it funny. But oak? Oak is different. It’s stubborn. It’s resilient. It stands its ground regardless of the weather, much like how I feel about certain things around here lately. You can't just rush the growth of an oak; you have to respect the process. We'd all do better if we treated our responsibilities—and maybe our neighbors—with half as much strength and stability as a good piece of American white oak. kaže:
Let’s go! Ready or not, here we come!
You’re kind of right, but honestly? You’re also dead wrong.
You just have to keep hunting until you find the real deal. If the first one you run into isn't the right fit, don't settle—keep looking.
I have to come clean here—I’ve wasted an absolute fortune in both time and hard-earned cash before I finally stumbled upon the real deal. It was a total drain, honestly.
It’s been two years. Two long, grueling years. But honestly? Looking back at everything I went through, the persistence absolutely paid off.
I’ve been working with them for over three years now, and honestly? I couldn't be more satisfied.
They only get paid if there's actual profit on the table. Period. It’s strictly performance-based—if I’m winning, they’re winning. If I'm losing money, they don't touch a dime. That's the only way to ensure everyone is actually pulling in the same direction.
That’s the only thing that actually makes sense to me!
Maybe I’ve got this completely backwards...

Way to go! 👍

Can you just send over the details? Like, who exactly is involved and what’s the deal? Maybe just hit me up in a DM if that's easier.

The market is absolutely flooded with financial products, and honestly, most savers or investors don't have a clue what they’re actually looking at.
Plus, you've got all these self-proclaimed "financial advisors" running around out there pushing products they clearly don't understand themselves. If you actually ask them which ones they prefer, they start stuttering or acting all awkward.
I mean, how can someone call themselves a financial advisor when they're drowning in credit card debt and don't even have $10,000 in their own investment portfolio?
It's a joke!
For me, FIDELITY INVESTMENTS is the only way to go; I need someone looking at the big picture across all global markets who actually knows the full spectrum of products.
Being INDEPENDENT means you aren't just juggling four different insurance companies, three mutual funds, and two banks.

The concept of a genuine financial advisor—the kind that actually exists in the real world—doesn't exist here in America. All these self-titled "advisors" and the firms masquerading as such basically just advise clients to put their money wherever yields the highest commission for the advisor.
If you ask me why this is allowed to happen, it's because the market is practically begging for it, people crave the prestige (telling someone you have a financial advisor is like saying you have a Nobel Prize), and there is total chaos in the industry due to a lack of real, quality regulation or any actual oversight body keeping them in check.
Besides, even if a real expert did exist, they wouldn't be able to execute transactions on behalf of a client anyway, because most institutions—like big banks or investment houses—would reject them. They require the client's own signature, not some "advisor's" request.
Or am I totally wrong about this...

First off, I don't see why everyone is getting so worked up about this...

Look, let's be real here:
- Take someone who’s strictly saving up to drop a massive down payment on a house in, say, Austin... their goal isn't life insurance; it's building a nest egg over a set number of years so they can actually afford that property...

- Or you've got parents (or even grandparents) wanting to set aside a specific amount every month for the next decade to build a college fund for a newborn or a toddler.
...
...
...
In those specific scenarios, I wouldn't bother with life insurance at all, because frankly, that just isn't the objective I'm aiming for.

I'm feeling so anxious right now in Forum Help! ·
Look, I’ve been sitting here staring at my screen for twenty minutes trying to figure out how to even put this into words, but I need to get this off my chest. People keep coming at me, questioning everything, and honestly? It’s exhausting. I’m just going to say it plainly because I don't have the patience for any more back-and-forth: Johnny B is good. There, I said it. I know, I know—some of you are already typing out your little rebuttals, probably ready to drag me through some endless argument on Reddit, but you’re missing the entire point. You're getting bogged down in the minutiae while ignoring the actual substance. It reminds me of that time I was stuck in traffic outside of Chicago for three hours; everyone around me was losing their minds over nothing, screaming about lane changes and missed exits, while the actual reality of the situation was just... well, it was just a massive waste of energy. That’s what this feels like. It’s easy to be a critic. It’s easy to sit back and nitpick every single detail until there's nothing left but noise. But if you actually take a second—just one solitary second—to look at the work, the consistency, and the sheer execution, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. It’s solid. It’s real. And frankly, I’m tired of having to defend something that should be obvious to anyone with half a brain. Stop overcomplicating it. He's good. End of story. kaže:
Go ahead, just set the exact same password again! Seriously, keep playing that game if you want to end up with a disciplinary write-up on your permanent record. Don't say I didn't warn you.😬

I heard they’re absolute monsters 😠
From what I gather, there are 40 questions on the oral exam, and you need at least 24 correct answers 🤔 just to even qualify for the oral portion... They have several different sets of questions, but word is they swap them out constantly so that....
Look, if you get women on the examining panel, you’re in luck (assuming you actually pass the written part), because they don't sweat the tiny details quite as much....
But if you end up with—I think his name is John Doe—then god help you... That man literally wrote the book on insurance law, and you practically have to memorize his entire life's work just to survive him...
What I’ve been told is that the study guides from the Federal Reserve are solid, and plenty of people have passed using them
As for all that talk about people getting demoted in banking roles... honestly, I don't think that's really the case.... It’s more that people struggle because of the sheer volume of work they're drowning in and the constant barrage of instructions they deal with every single day... not to mention the massive mountain of material you're expected to master...

Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers for you! 👍

Matthew Turner5 said:I’m looking to get a card I can actually use for online shopping—stuff like Amazon orders or booking flights. Since I don't have a steady monthly paycheck coming in right now, would I be able to set up a card or an account where I just deposit cash whenever I have it and then use it for those kinds of purchases?

Like someone already pointed out... you basically take some cash, put it into a CD or a fixed savings account at the bank, and they'll give you a credit card with a limit that matches—or is sometimes a bit less than—whatever you locked away. It really just depends on which bank you're dealing with.

The limit is tied directly to your salary... I think it's roughly double 🤔 .... but honestly, if you run into trouble (at least that’s been my experience), just give them a call. I actually ended up sending over a fax once, and they bumped up my limit for a few days just so I wouldn't be stuck paying for my hotel room out of pocket 😬
I’ve been staring at my phone all morning wondering... is this new bug going around actually Norovirus, or just some nasty strain of something else that hit (I think?) Mount Sinai

This isn't some overnight issue. I've tried everything under the sun. No matter which angle I take, nothing seems to stick.
Eventually, I tried following the unknown method, and things actually felt okay for a bit—until they found a way through my defenses and crawled right back in.🙄
Now I’m back to waking up at 4 AM, wasting precious energy on spiraling thoughts instead of just being present for my husband and kids. It’s toxic for everyone involved.
At the end of the day, I refuse to let this state of mind follow me until the grave.

You have to plug every single hole... don't let people squeeze their way through tiny cracks into your life. Take my colleague's mother-in-law, for instance—the woman "dies" several times a week just to guilt-trip her son. He’s about 50 years old! And he only visits her twice a week, not every single day, which is plenty.😕
Of course, you still maintain contact—birthdays, holidays, maybe a Sunday dinner here and there—and that's it. Period. If they can't handle those boundaries? Sorry, not my problem. You need to prioritize your spouse and your children. If they take offense to that, then frankly, they aren't even worth a Sunday meal.
