shadowfox75 said:What am I supposed to do about being in the hospital? My neurologist ran an EEG and told me there’s nothing physically wrong; she basically said it’s all psychological and just a matter of whether I can mentally tough it out. She insisted it will pass. It’s not just me, either—you see people on YouTube all the time saying they deal with this exact same thing hundreds of times a day. Most people just say they had to take medical leave for about two weeks. My doctor even called a colleague who confirmed that he gets a constant stream of patients complaining about this "brain zap" phenomenon. Since it isn't officially documented in medical literature, she relies on her own experience, knowing that recovering from this kind of mental strain is an incredibly slow process. The neurologist assured me I won't have an epileptic seizure or anything else; she just said I need to hold steady mentally. I actually joked with her, begging her not to hospitalize me because I was honestly feeling completely overwhelmed by her orders. She responded by saying she might just send me straight to the ward. So, there you have it. It’s a miserable situation. I haven't taken any sick leave or time off yet. I'll just endure it. It'll pass in a month or three. I just wanted to vent to you all a little bit; it’s not pleasant, and if anyone else has gone through this, we really should talk about it more. We can help each other out. ;-)

sent from hell

I don't even know what to tell you—good luck, I guess. That's about all I've got.🤷 😉

If that’s actually true, they should probably be in the hospital!

Brandon Lopez6 said:I weaned myself off Paxil and felt fine. For me, Lexapro was way more of a nightmare. So that whole "I read about it" thing doesn't really hold water. Even if a thousand people wrote that weaning off was easy, you can still be the one person who had the opposite experience.

Blueberry doesn't just go around popping pills whenever she feels like it. It seems like she doesn't quite get that seeing a doctor isn't like going to Target and being like, "Hey, give me 25mg of this and 10mg of that." That's not how it works, but I guess some people just don't get it.

I had a pretty terrible experience with Lexapro myself—though not while trying to get off it, but right when I first started taking it. I managed to stick it out for three weeks, but honestly, I felt like I was constantly half-drunk. It was absolutely miserable!

Exactly—it’s those wildly different experiences that prove how much medication can vary from one person to the next.

I tried digging through Twitter to see if there was any word on when Lady Gaga might drop her next album, but I came up empty-handed—does anyone here happen to have the inside scoop?🤷

How does Seroquel behave at a daily dose of 150mg? I’m thinking 50mg in the morning and 100mg at night. Does it actually have any antipsychotic effect at that level?

I'm on a different version myself—taking Quetiapine during the day for anxiety at lower doses
so I can't really speak to the psychosis side of things.🤷

I used to take Valium, but honestly, I wasn't happy with it at all. It barely helped me. It worked for the first three or four days, and then after that, basically nothing... Can anyone recommend some other sleeping pills that actually worked for you?

As for Normbal, my doctor prescribed it along with Advil after a bad traffic accident. To be honest, I didn't feel any particular effect from it. It felt almost exactly the same whether I was taking it or not, except maybe feeling a little more drowsy, so I really don't know...

Maybe you were just taking too low a dose to actually knock you out—how many mg were you on?

I actually managed to get off my Xanax thanks to Lamictal! Good luck, sister DD!😍

1TB is basically 1000GB 😬 or you could go with a 500GB http://www.amazon.com/details/500gb-drive.aspx

You can also find plenty of used 160GB drives $33 if you really want to hunt for them.

Thanks!😉

I am completely clueless when it comes to computer stuff—so, what does this actually mean? Is an upgrade even possible?

Rebecca Sanders37 said:I truly believe our mental state—whether we're stable or spiraling—is all down to brain chemistry. Everything is basically just chemistry, even our thoughts! By doing "inner work," I'm essentially trying to change my brain chemistry naturally. But what exactly do you mean when you talk about "working on your psyche"? Like, what am I supposed to actually *do*?

This is incredibly complicated—honestly, trying to change who you are, especially those deep-seated personality traits, is pretty much impossible without long-term, intensive psychotherapy. Anything else is just spinning your wheels.☕

Rebecca Sanders37 said:I didn't go for it back then because I was such a huge skeptic when it came to meds, you know? But honestly, looking back, I don't see anything wrong with giving it a shot now. That being said, I really wouldn't want to mess around with anything that might throw my brain chemistry out of whack, especially since I actually feel pretty decent as I am! I was mostly thinking about taking something just to level things up a bit—like a little boost to help me feel even more free and keep my mood consistently high. I was even looking into those over-the-counter 5-HTP supplements, since you can just grab them at a CVS without needing a prescription. Has anyone here actually tried those?
I wouldn't say they can't change your personality, though... I've seen it happen firsthand with a buddy of mine who turned into a completely different person.

Look, Zoloft is actual medicine meant to treat you; it isn't some recreational drug you take just to get high all the time!🙄

Brandon Lopez6 said:this. It happens to some people when they taper off antidepressants, but I went off Paxil and didn't deal with a single issue. Honestly, I bet I would've felt it if someone had warned me, "Hey, watch out for side effects," because I end up manifesting a whole list of symptoms just by overthinking things and reading too much on 😁.

From what I can tell, it’s just a quick little "shock"—kind of like a bolt of lightning shooting through your brain.

Prozac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Cymbalta, Fevarin—after coming off any of those, I never dealt with any zaps or weird sensations😉.
Maybe it depends on the specific medication, or even just how your own body reacts—plus, the tapering process is key. You really have to go slow, dropping by a quarter pill at a time, just like when you're starting a new one.🤷

Kevin Nguyen3 said:Personally, I don't think combining those medications is a smart move.
I mean, obviously, it's not going to be some massive catastrophe immediately... but even standing in a heavy gale isn't a great idea, right?😁
Cymbalta shouldn't—well, it’s not recommended, or you should just be extremely cautious, if you prefer that wording—be mixed with SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors).
Not even with Velafax, Tramadol, certain antibiotics, or lithium (which is used for schizophrenia).
Now, why is that? Why does it matter?
In rare instances, it can trigger serotonin syndrome.
And what is that syndrome? It's roughly this: fever, sweating, a racing heart, diarrhea, muscle spasms, tremors, restlessness, and potentially even loss of consciousness.
At low doses (like Cymbalta 15 mg), I assume—and please understand, I am not an expert here—that nothing particularly special will happen.
But taking it long-term? That just isn't good.
If your doctor actually prescribed that specific regimen, then honestly, I am at a loss for words. If you're doing this on your own without medical supervision, well, then I have even fewer words to offer.😲🤣

I took Wellbutrin and Cymbalta together back in the day and nothing happened—honestly, they weren't even working for me, so we just stopped them entirely.🤷

Jason Vaughn482 said:Has anyone here ever experimented with combining COAXIL and Calixta? Or perhaps someone possesses the clinical insight to know if such a pairing is even viable? I am curious about what the minimum effective dosage might look like in that scenario.

types of antidepressants

COAXIL is tianeptine, which falls under the SSRI category—it works as an antidepressant and anxiolytic.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tianeptine

CALIXTA is mirtazapine, which belongs to this group:
OTHER ANTIDEPRESSANTS
These are dual serotonin antidepressants: they act as type 2 serotonin receptor antagonists and weak selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antidepressants

So, basically, we are looking at two different types of antidepressants, meaning they can be combined.

COAXIL should be taken exactly as the instructions state
: Always take COAXIL exactly as your doctor advised you.
For adults, the standard dose is
one tablet three times a day, which is
taken in the morning, at noon, and in the evening before meals.
http://www.fda.gov/drugs/information

CALIXTA

3. HOW TO TAKE CALIXTA
It is vital that you take the medication exactly as prescribed by your physician. If you aren't sure about your dosage, always check with your doctor.

How much to take?
The typical starting dose is 15 to 30 mg daily. Your doctor might suggest increasing the dose after a few days to find what works best for you (anywhere from 15 to 45 mg per day).

These are the official guidelines, so I hope someone who has used this combo reaches out to you. You could also check out some mental health forums online.

Good luck!

Brandon Taylor9 said:Can anyone help me out?
For a few weeks now, I've been taking 20mg of Prozac every morning and 0.5mg of Xanax at night for depression. So far, I haven't dealt with any side effects, and honestly, I think they're helping a little bit—but that’s not really my main concern right now...
I know you aren't supposed to mix alcohol with medication, but I have plans to go out tonight, and I'd really love to have a drink or two. I'm just not sure how smart that is. Is it going to make me feel terrible?

I'm not sure if the antidepressant will cause much trouble, but the second one worries me a bit. I was thinking maybe I should just skip the Xanax on the night I plan to drink?

p.s.—I know I probably sound pretty immature, but the truth is, I don't want to be stuck drinking soda all night while everyone else is having fun. Plus, I hate having to answer those annoying questions like, "Why aren't you drinking?" So, I'm wondering what I can safely have, and how much, without feeling like a zombie by morning.

Just grab some non-alcoholic beer—like a Heineken 0.0%. Don't mess around with mixing alcohol and these meds. You can always tell your friends a story, like saying you went a little too hard the night before. At the end of the day, the choice
and the consequences are entirely yours.

Enjoy The Ride has been on constant repeat for me lately—it's just such a vibe. 🙂 😁 It really is wonderful. 🙂

That’s definitely one of those "personal favorites" for me.

I've been listening to the new album, but I need a few more spins before I can really settle on an opinion.

Benjamin Robinson3 said:Exactly. I just want some rest. I want to stop having emotions for a little while because they haven't helped me so far, and since I'm going through such a brutal period in my life, they aren't helping now either. If anything, my emotions are driving me insane right now.
Regarding the recommendations, I just wanted to see which pills most commonly cause that feeling so I can suggest that specific type to my psychiatrist; he usually takes my preferences into account. I know every medication affects people differently, but there has to be something that frequently turns people into zombies.
My appointment isn't for another week and a half, so more crap is just going to happen in the meantime, and I want to start therapy immediately without waiting. It's easier for me to suggest something to him right away instead of experimenting with other pills that might do the exact opposite of what I actually want.
To me, being "better" would simply mean being without emotions. I would be perfectly satisfied with just that.

Are you really going to go in there and ask for a prescription just so you can feel nothing, or maybe just feel less? I truly hope not. Anxiolytics will blunt you very quickly—but those emotions don't just vanish; they keep building up deep down in your subconscious. Once that container overflows, you'll face panic attacks that could hit you at any moment, even when you finally feel calm, and it'll catch you completely off guard. If you're looking for actual help, you can find licensed psychotherapists through your insurance provider—meaning psychotherapy is the real solution, the method, the path, the process where you'll eventually learn to verbalize your emotions. They have to come out. The choice is yours, obviously, but think about whether you want a long-term solution or if you'd rather just be a zombie struggling with panic attacks—or God forbid, something worse like psychosis. Good luck!
