FSOL - ISDN (1995)

Let zubima vjetra - utonuće u buku - 50% control, 50% chaos—multi-track layers fused with screaming samplers, all held together by the stoic Yage.

ALL TRACKS WRITTEN AND PRODUCED BY FSOL
ENGINEERED BY YAGE FOR EBV
RECORDED LIVE AT EARTHBEAT STUDIOS 1994
DURING VARIOUS ISDN TRANSMISSIONS

"Jarrett is pure punk rock."

Madredeus - Os Dias

shimmering neofolk

Their debut arrived as a double LP, absolutely drenched in beauty and a certain deep, oceanic blue. It’s a sixteen-track voyage through the winding currents of Lusophone melodies.

Set sail through those narrow, stone-paved streets right here .

I can only offer a simple thanks for such universal welcomes—thanks, truly.

Sun Electric (1995)

An Atomski techno excursion into the heart of a digital sun

The groundwork is being laid... I decided to dive back through their previous two albums and catch up on some video content, just to get a better handle on the artist behind these tracks.

Lisa Davis46 said:(...) I’d love to ask our esteemed colleague Arthur Brown6 to take a crack at one of my albums... say, the last one suggested over in the general chat, which he gave his seal of approval. That could be pretty interesting! You down? 🙂

Sure thing. I'll give it a listen and start a thread for Perfume Genius - set my Heart on Fire Immediately ( 2020—mostly because (why?) I haven't heard a single note of Perfume Genius before.

Hope everyone's doing well and staying healthy!

Regarding the album watchlists... In the spirit of this week's rambling, I felt compelled to post the only release from this year that I’ve actually sat down with, listened to in full, and revisited multiple times. That would be this one:

So, I'll leave the debate to the rest of you.

So they say...

David Hykes & The Harmonic Choir ‎– Harmonic Meetings (1986)

Ensemble Modern & Frank Zappa - The Yellow Shark (Frankfurt, September 17, 1992)

The incredible German Ensemble Modern served as Zappa's de facto final band. I won't say much about this Frankfurt show, other than it's absolutely stellar—and thankfully longer than the CD release. You see Zappa stepping in as conductor on a few tracks, and his genuine enthusiasm for this ensemble is unmistakable. Simply brilliant. Finally, we have something of real substance here.

The First day >>>>>>>>>> Thrak

Not suggestions.

A literal translation, not a suggestion: 😎 & 😎

It's a deal!

Anyway,...

(Not a suggestion.)

He’s only eighty.

Frank Zappa - Jazz from Hell (1986)

Terry Riley - The Harp of New Albion (1986)

David Hykes & The Harmonic Choir ‎– Harmonic Meetings (1986)

It’s that kind of moment. Timeless. Much like this album itself.

Meredith Monk - Philip Glass Ensemble (1981)
