Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
northernhawk33 said:How many opportunists from Ukraine fled all over the globe instead of actually defending their own backyard, only to sit around whining now?
It’s almost a given that tactical nukes will be used on Ukrainian soil—but who cares, right? It’s all at a safe distance from the US. Nobody gave a damn when they dropped nukes on Japan, either. As long as these people are dying and their land is being poisoned, it doesn't matter. All that depleted uranium will just sit there, ruining their soil and water until the local population pays the price. Meanwhile, the real puppet masters of war just keep stacking up the profits. ☕

And we, the little people, will just have to be grateful to Putin for making it all possible... ☕

Ban anyone from Russia from entering the EU or the USA. But then again, Lavrov was walking around New York City just yesterday, so... hold on a second...

Does that mean we should ban dissidents too?

Lavrov is part of the diplomatic corps, carrying a diplomatic passport... so that complicates things...

Wars usually end with some kind of signed armistice after negotiations... and since this war isn't likely to wrap up with either Ukraine or Russia simply surrendering unconditionally, there will eventually have to be some diplomacy involved... maybe.

And if you want to actually stop Putin, you need the Chinese. Unfortunately. I think if they decided to turn their backs on Russia, it would solve everything.
Right now, that seems impossible, but I don't think they particularly enjoy the idea of nuclear Armageddon or the economic domino effect caused by Putin's obsessions.

The Chinese aren't going to keep propping up Russia forever... I doubt it.

The Chinese haven't actually been helping Russia at all. They're just exploiting the situation for their own gain. They’ll keep playing this "support" game with Russia only as long as it lines their own pockets...

I’d argue the average convict is more of a tough guy than your typical reservist. That makes them prime candidates for deployment to Ukraine, especially when you need cannon fodder... Plus, it saves the government a fortune on prison budgets.

And let’s get one thing straight: Putin isn't some dictator out on a crusade to conquer Europe; you guys need to stop feeding yourselves that nonsense. This is an entirely different kind of conflict. It's essentially a war between NATO and Russia, and I guess Ukraine is just caught in the crossfire of some really misguided political agendas. Instead of actually pushing for peace or a ceasefire, the leaders in Europe are just fueling the fire. By doubling down on sanctions and shipping off weapons, they might just be doing more harm to Ukrainian civilians in the long run.

They should have just left them to deal with Russia on their own. Let nature take its course... whoever survives, survives.

To highlight how uncoordinated their operations really are, I’d probably even suggest the damage was done without needing to target a specific train or convoy at all. You know how it works; someone on the other side would jump at the chance to brag about being the one who finally took down an S-300. And honestly, that might actually solve part of the problem.

Exactly. If it works, it works. Honestly, the odds of the Russians actually falling for that misinformation aren't huge, but it doesn't cost anything to try.

Otherwise, remind me about when shelling hit my area back during the time of Dr. Ug. The Mexican forces really miscalculated their math, so the shells landed on a hill outside town where there's absolutely nothing... yet local radio reported that they were hitting downtown, just in case they decided to fire at those same coordinates again.😁

Kevin Murphy7 said:The absolute worst part of this whole mess right now is those 12,000 fighters being brought in just to commit atrocities against civilians. It's a move designed to crush Ukrainian morale, and the Russian military won't even have to take the blame for it directly.

I don't think they're there just to target civilians. It’s about their fanaticism and sheer determination. Honestly, most of the Russian soldiers couldn't care less about how this war ends; they're mostly just focused on staying alive until this whole nightmare is over. But these Chechen units? They'll be far more fanatical and committed to hitting specific targets...

It’s honestly wild how many people the Russ are losing. At this point, I’m not even shocked by claims that they've lost 3,500 soldiers already.

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is where these battles are actually happening. Our news anchors say 'Russ forces are near 19 miles Kyiv,' then 'Russ entered Kyiv,' then back to 'Russ are just outside 37 miles Kyiv,' and now suddenly fighting is happening in the suburbs right by the Capitol building... 🤔🤔

Why? Because their whole philosophy on warfare has always been that people are the least important resource. One dead man is a tragedy, but a hundred deaths? That’s just statistics...

Oh, they damn well love him. The average Russian knows perfectly well that both he and his kids are going to suffer because of Putin's policies, but whatever. This guy is a ruthless player and he sure as hell isn't going down without a fight. He's built such a rigid hierarchy within Russia that he's practically untouchable...

Laura Scott7 said:I mean, who else is going to flee into the middle of major cities and put civilians right in the crosshairs? That’s basically Military 101—you don't let the fighting get anywhere near urban centers, you definitely don't go running into them to use them as human shields. But sure, the second a shell hits a residential building, suddenly it's all the Russians' fault, right? Just do me a favor and actually check out some actual news sources like RT instead of just blathering on about what you *think* is happening. You can't just make stuff up and call it reality. It doesn't work that way.

So what, they were supposed to just surrender?

But man, they immediately got hit with a guerrilla war that bled them dry for four years straight. Honestly, maybe that's exactly what's waiting for the invaders in Ukraine.😉

Let's be honest here, it wasn't some long-term insurgency that drained them for four years. It was a single day on the Eastern Front that truly broke them...

I honestly feel sick thinking about him taking his own life. He could have just served a few more years and walked free... But what really gets me riled up is seeing those people in the Middle East celebrating everything over on Instagram and Facebook, acting like they’re being rebellious by drinking alcohol—as if that somehow makes them "true" believers—while posting all these smug, hypocritical comments about "drinking poison"...

But I guess that's just how it goes when you're a man of principle with actual backbone. He refused to spend even one single day behind bars as a convicted criminal when he knew he was innocent...

Rest in peace, General.

Anthony Jackson2 said:Did that logic apply to all the Americans who were scrubbing their tracks in Germany back in the 90s—or do we just follow a different set of rules now?

Anyway, since I’m apparently on a roll changing the subject—this constant push for regional realities is exhausting. Who actually needs this, and why are we so obsessed with shoving ourselves into these "brotherly" projects with Mexicans? Is it just some marketing gimmick, or are we really trying to force a return to that old "brotherhood and unity" nonsense? 🍿

Of course they're economic migrants... if they actually stayed there...

I don't follow any of this closely, and I’m certainly not involved in the production side of things. But if you look at the logic, the conclusion is pretty obvious: it's all just a play for marketing dollars and cost-cutting... It's probably more appealing to people to watch something with a broader regional reach, though if you ask me, it’s all the same garbage regardless. Then again, from a business standpoint, it makes perfect sense to organize and fund a single show that can air across three or four different countries on multiple networks, maximizing viewership while splitting the bill...

Matthew Anderson4 said:So what, people fleeing war should just hide in some hole in Turkey and hibernate until things blow over? If they don't, then they aren't actually running from a war? I mean, how narrow-minded do you have to be to not realize someone can flee a conflict and still try to build a decent future for their kids at the same time?

That’s exactly what the Canadians doing as refugees along the Gulf Coast were. They were war refugees.
The people running from war to build a life exclusively in Germany are war migrants. Period. No matter how hard that is for you to swallow. It doesn't bother me one bit that you can't—or won't—grasp this. And frankly, I couldn't care less if Germany takes 800,000 or 2,000,000 of them. But I am glad to see from the comments on these news articles that most people aren't buying the "war refugee" narrative... they actually see through the act. We've been going in circles all day and you still haven't figured out the difference between a war refugee and an economic migrant. If you want to keep calling them war refugees, fine... go ahead. Maybe try actually getting involved and helping them through the Red Cross instead of just talking... 😉 Regards.

Matthew Anderson4 said:So, does their lack of shock imply they’re actually going to kill?
Is suffering through all that trauma supposed to be a reason to discriminate against them?!

See, it’s not about stigmatizing Islam... it’s about people from the Middle East. Big difference.

If you actually used your brain, you'd realize they have nothing left to go back to. The father of that dead child went back to Syria to bury his kid, his brother, and his mother, only to find 11 fresh graves filled with his family. He left in June. People flee a country where you lose 11 family members in three months. That place is scorched earth. What kind of irresponsible idiots would think they could count on a quick return or a normal life in Syria anytime soon? They have to look at Europe as their new home. They have to, for their own sake and their kids'. Whether you like it or not.

PS. No, not every Syrian is an economic refugee, for God's sake. Do you realize that entire country is a war zone?

PPS. How many refugees from the American Civil War actually made it back to their homes?

PPPS. You know how many American families are leaving the country right now as economic migrants, heading en masse to Germany?

I might use my brain, unlike you, who clearly hasn't figured out how the world works—and frankly, I doubt you have the capacity to. And that Germany they’re all rushing to? Not too long ago, it was completely devastated and split into four pieces. They reached where they are today through hard work and intelligence. It's the same for Syrians once things settle down... and things will settle eventually. But no, they don't care about that. All they care about is Germany and a stable state with solid social benefits. Therefore, they aren't war refugees; they are economic migrants.

PS. Any Syrian who doesn't want to stay safe in Turkey, but instead risks their life to get to Germany, isn't a war refugee—they are an economic migrant. No matter how hard that is for you to swallow, it's a fact.

PPS. I don't know, do you?!

PPPS. I don't know, do you? All I know is that everyone leaving legally does so with papers and follows the law. Are the Syrians doing that?

Matthew Anderson4 said:So what’s the point of constantly trying to spin why these people are showing up? When you keep insisting they aren't refugees but just economic migrants, it honestly looks like you're trying to strip away their right to be here. It makes it seem like you're implying things aren't actually that bad where they are—even though they are—just so you can claim they're only after more cash and social perks at the expense of American citizens. To me, it sounds like you're just saying they're looking for a handout.

PS. Every Syrian is a refugee.

I’m not trying to "say" anything, I’m just observing that some people are pushing this narrative about Syrians who supposedly just want safety and an escape from war, implying they'd head back home once the fighting stops. It's as if they don't use their brains enough to realize these people have zero intention of ever going back... they don't want to be anywhere else except where their existence is guaranteed without them having to lift a single finger.

PS. Yeah, every Syrian is a refugee, even for economic reasons.

Matthew Anderson4 said:Sure, not everyone's a refugee—some are definitely just looking for work—but I highly doubt that's all you were actually trying to say.

Anyone who is strictly looking to get into Germany is an economic migrant.

What else did I say... or what was I trying to get at?🍿
