Condemnation in Psychology ·
Jacob Cooper5 said:Judgment matters. We’re talking about actual discernment here.
If you want to survive out there, you have to be able to weigh things up. You need to realize you aren't just walking into a campfire... you need to know you aren't jumping off a fifth-story balcony without a parachute.
That kind of foresight—that ability to judge a situation—is everything.

When you strip away someone's ability to think critically for themselves, you pave the way for cults, "soulmate" delusions, and all kinds of psychological manipulation...

Don't confuse judgment with being judgmental. They are two completely different concepts with totally different meanings. Of course, you're going to judge a situation, but usually only after some time has passed. Being "judgmental" is more about that split-second first impression—like seeing someone walking down a street in New York and thinking they look stuck-up just because of how they're dressed.
And honestly, I’ll admit I’m guilty of judging people based on looks sometimes too. It’s such a shallow thing to do. Who knows what kind of person is actually hiding behind a "pretty" or "ugly" face?
Aquarius energy is unmatched in Miscellaneous ·
Feel free to move this thread wherever you think it fits best. I’m honestly terrible at organizing these things. 🙂
I’m sure most of you have already heard about people possessing all sorts of abilities—ranging from the "softer" stuff like meditation, grounding, and chakra work, all the way up to telepathy or even communicating with spirits and angels...
Do you guys actually believe this kind of thing is possible? Some studies suggest these cases are most common among Aquarians. They say the symbol represents someone carrying a pitcher full of water because they have so much energy they can just pour it out onto everyone else.
I think I read somewhere that some truly legendary figures were born under that sign too...
Of course, there are probably people born in other months who possess bits and pieces of those traits, but do you think Aquarians specifically have some kind of "powers"??
According to my horoscope, when an Aquarius sets their mind to something, they make it happen—no matter how massive the goal. It says that by using those unique elements, they can achieve incredible things for humanity.
Here’s a bit of my own story:
A while back, I used to see ghosts, talk to them, and had frequent astral travel experiences and things like that... Honestly, I was terrified to even step into a room once the sun went down.
With the help of a mentor, I managed to clear all of that away. I haven't had any new occurrences for maybe a year now.
Back then, it was all just too much for me; I was way too young to handle something like that. But now? Part of me regrets pushing it all away, or what some people would call a "gift."
Have any of you ever experienced anything like this?
Please, let me know what you think!
Thanks.
Dealing with smear campaigns in Psychology ·
I know this guy who has kids the same age as mine, and like any parent, he genuinely believes he’s doing what’s best for them... but honestly? He's just turning them into complete idiots. Not to mention, he's sabotaging himself in the process. He's teaching them to look down on everyone else, yet heaven forbid anyone says the same thing back to them! The second someone challenges their attitude, they get all insulted and immediately call in "backup" to start some massive blowout argument. I just can't wrap my head around why anyone would raise children this way... because when you see him, he looks like your typical, everyday American guy. Everyone talks about how hard-working he is and how lucky his family is to have him. It’s not like he’s clearly unhinged or anything... it’s almost like this behavior is just baked into his DNA... -.-
Both he and the kids are incredibly rude and arrogant; they'll insult just about anyone if they get the chance... strangely enough, his wife seems perfectly fine...

I'll teach you how to pray! in Spirituality ·
I think your heart is in the right place here, but I don't think this approach is going to land the way you want it to. Instead of just leaning on quotes to back yourself up, maybe try explaining the actual flow of prayer itself... It might feel more organic. Also, if I can offer some advice, try to trim the story down a bit. It’s getting a little long-winded, and I worry people will just skim the comments or bail on the thread entirely before they even get to the good stuff... 🙂
What are we even fighting for? in Psychology ·

I was watching The Bridge the other day and it got my gears turning. Beyond the usual stuff like mental health struggles, debt, or heartbreak, it feels to me like most people end up checking out because they just can't stomach the sheer emptiness and lack of purpose in life—at least, I personally find it unbearable.
You wake up in the morning knowing there isn't anything great waiting for you. Every single day.
It all feels pretty pointless. How do you guys deal with it?

Man, why are you being so pessimistic? If you wake up every day with that mindset, life is always going to feel that way... you aren't hoping for anything, you're just stubbornly living your life and letting every opportunity pass you by. Just go outside and experience things! Grab your dog and go for a walk if you don't feel like hanging out with "friends," just get out there... 😁
Feeling socially awkward/isolated in Psychology ·
Matthew Wilson50 said:I was just wondering what you all think about being antisocial—you know, people who just don't enjoy hanging out with others or going out on the town;

I’m 16 and a half now, and I’ve honestly never gone out to a club or even just grabbed a drink with friends. People still invite me whenever they go out, but I always turn them down. I guess I just don't find it appealing. I'm not really into smoking or drinking, and I don't particularly care for socializing like that. My parents give me a hard time sometimes, asking why I never want to go anywhere, lol, but I just don't feel comfortable in those settings. I can't really be myself there. I'd much rather stay home and watch a movie or something else.

So, is this normal? What’s your take on people like me? I know a lot of people don't really get why I am the way I am.

ps sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm not quite sure where to post this.

I'm in the exact same boat. I hate going out; it's just not interesting to me. I'd much rather spend that time at home watching a movie or "exploring" things online. It isn't even about the social aspect. It's fine, though. hah. 😁
Are lefties actually smarter? in Psychology ·
Hmm, now this is an interesting topic to dive into.
Based on how things look, it’s certainly a possibility, but I don't think there's enough concrete evidence to back it up just yet. We can speculate all we want, but... "Acting talents, musicians, painters... basically, anything involving the arts" Could you actually name a few artists who fit that description? Like, people who are left-handed? "Hyperactive" Honestly, if you ask me, I'd say it's actually the exact opposite...
