Hm, everyone’s probably going to want a piece—people tend to flock to anything that feels a bit out of the ordinary.
Anyway, just aim to have that top cake yield about 15-20 slices if you can; it'll help keep the total number of small cakes down. Better to have too much than to run out.

I think you've had enough—eight cakes is definitely overkill.
If you grab five plus one for the wedding party, you'll still have plenty left over to pass around. 😁

Honestly, just head straight to the local Department of Commerce office. Skip those sites like Hitro.hr—I’ve heard they aren't nearly as reliable as they claim to be.
We knocked out our whole registration process in just a few days, but only because we did a ton of digging beforehand.
You also need to go in and ask about the minimum technical requirements and whether you actually need them. Usually, inspectors just show up unannounced, and it's not just one agency looking over your shoulder. 😁

Would you actually get into making souvenirs?
If you're setting up a small business, you'll be the only one running the gift shop—it's your domain. As for whether you can specifically manufacture them, your best bet is checking with the local Chamber of Commerce or City Hall. They'll give you the straight answer.

Around here, things were just $67 more expensive.

I’m not a fan either—tastes like chewing on paper.
Growing up, we always used marzipan for decorating; I can't stand the stuff myself, but my dear old dad loved it.
Besides, we never really struggled with the cutting part.

Here's a suggestion for the new batch—try those cookies from the bakery in Savannah and see how they handle the machines.

Startup costs for a small business usually land around $167.
Back in the day, you could snag some grants through the unemployment office—provided you’d been collecting benefits for at least six months. As for other funding sources... I'm not really sure.

As far as I can tell, you can run wholesale through a small business too

Honestly, you’re better off just calling them up and asking. Some bakeries skip the nuts entirely since so many people deal with allergies these days.

I’ve been trying to track this down—honestly, I can't find it anywhere. All I'm seeing is stuff about how you can't start a side business because of non-compete issues.

And yeah, the law protects against competing with your employer. If you're working at an accounting firm and try to run your own bookkeeping business on the side, it's viewed as competing with them—not exactly the smartest move.

If I’m not mistaken, there's no way she actually owns the accounting firm. It’s much easier to just put the business in her husband's name—someone who doesn't touch the books—while she stays on as an employee.

Take a stroll down Main Street. Back when we were looking into setting up our LLC, word on the street was they had the lowest prices in town. Since they didn't give us an actual business name, just check if there's a whole strip of them or just one lone shop.

Richard Howard9 said:Does anyone know roughly how much those little mini cake towers cost? And maybe which bakeries around here actually make them?

We went over this a few pages back—posted some photos and thoughts there. It’s all right there.
James Ruiz84, good luck with the hunt. Haven't come across them myself yet.

Jamie Robinson4 said: cupcakes are just muffins. mini cakes are what you had at Vincent's and what most bakeries actually make. they aren't muffins 🙄 I think one specific company makes them—that’s how they got the name—but honestly, I wouldn't serve those to guests when actual mini cakes are such a better choice. $10 It's way too much; you're paying for the brand name rather than the quality. If they just made decent mini cakes and customized the look for the wedding couple, it would be different.

It looks like they’re just putting muffins in those little cups—I don't see any actual cupcakes being made here

Yeah, we ended up pulling the trigger on Monica at the last minute. But honestly, you can always just bring your own stand or rent one somewhere else to bring over to her. Still, better to get a reservation in before things get crazy—just like we did 😁

We stopped by Monica's place about a month and a half before the wedding😁

Look, those aren't cupcakes—they're more like mini cakes. Not sure about the size, though.

They were honestly so delicious, and my guests absolutely loved them—I think it was because they’d never seen anything quite like them before! 😉

So, this is Monica's bakery over in Samobor
(if you watched MasterChef, she was featured in an episode once—she’s basically the Swiss pastry expert)
Hers went for about $3.25, but honestly, just ask them for their current rates

We went there ourselves and picked up a four-flavor cake—we just showed them the photo from the site, so my advice is to grab a picture of what you want and show it to them when you go. You can pay after the wedding with a card and all that easy stuff.

123 Main St, Samobor
10430 Samobor
No phone numbers, please. May
Not sure why their website is down🤷

I'm sure other girls will jump in with info on different bakeries—there should still be some affordable, high-quality spots out there.
