They just white it out, then slap on a stamp and a signature. Honestly, the best move is to play dumb if they ask—just act like you didn't notice it had expired, especially if we're only talking about a few days. 🙂

No. They probably just told her that because she didn't meet the medical criteria for any referrals in the first place.
You’ll get an appointment immediately; it's highly likely your referral just vanished into thin air somewhere 😢 Just shoot an email to the central scheduling department here:
A consultation isn't the same thing as diagnostic testing. For instance, an EEG or an ADG requires $33. A consultation is just a sit-down with a specialist...
You’ve already had your $8.25 checked by a specialist, and as for blood work, I haven't a clue—though it could be similar... As for the thyroid, I'm thinking maybe it's a rib issue or the Holy Spirit, unless someone wants to correct me if I'm wrong..
Since I actually live in NYC, I’ve spent plenty of time in ERs—mostly during the day—so I’m speaking from direct experience here. Whether or not you personally had a bad experience at an emergency room is on you. At a major hospital like Mayo Clinic, they aren't going to turn you away just because it's daytime. I’ve even been to ERs outside of the city, and before 2020, everything was seamless; if I didn't have a local address, what was that supposed to change? It’s not like they check your residency before saving your life. And frankly, I highly doubt this girl changed her legal residence to NYC just for college; your current location shouldn't matter when it's an emergency. Besides, the idea that people with broken bones are supposed to wait until 8:00 PM? Give me a break!
She isn't even from NYC, and Emergency services operate 24/7. They've got plenty to do starting at 8 PM...
Just head to any ER and get it sorted. You can show up whenever you want—just tell them you took a fall and now the pain is unbearable.
I just received a travel authorization because I had to travel out of town for a medical checkup. What’s the protocol now? Am I supposed to bring this into the Washington, D.C. office? And do I handle filling out the expense section myself?

No, you just get your paperwork and a referral, then head to wherever you were scheduled and prepare yourself for a long wait for an appointment.

If the referral doesn't specify a particular facility, you have the freedom to book an appointment anywhere in the country.
I don't follow. Can't you just clean up thoroughly with soap and water and then provide a urine sample? If they're only looking for blood presence rather than specific chemical levels, why bother with all this fuss? You only need a tiny bit of urine anyway, so why risk contaminating the whole thing with menstrual blood by overcomplicating the process?

I work privately at the Nemetov clinic.
Basically, I went to see him and wasn't exactly thrilled with the experience. After such a long stretch, I figured, why not try a private specialist? My friend insists everyone there is top-tier, so I check their website, and there's Mirko Koršić 😁 Just a little something I happened to find out 🙂

Yes, an e-prescription. Thank you.
If I already started a prescription and finished the bottle early, is there any way to get a refill even if the doctor only authorized one box? Does anyone know a pharmacy around here that might actually go along with that?

PRIVATE: If they happen to be near you, my recommendation would be . They’re friendly, and honestly, they seem a bit more affordable than . Don't get me wrong, those guys are also very nice, but it all depends on what kind of service you need—some places will email your results the same day, while others work strictly by appointment...
Looking for some insight here:
Using Power and Color Doppler, both morphological and velocitometric analyses were performed on both the ACC, ACI, and ACE. Vessel walls appear normal, and hemodynamic parameters are within expected ranges across all analyzed vessels. PSV LACI 60cm/sec; PSV DACI 64 cm/sec.
TCD VB SLIVA:
Both vertebral and basilar arteries were analyzed via suboccipital approach. Vessel walls look healthy, though there is asymmetry noted with a slightly elevated SBSK in the left vertebral artery (possibly cervicogenic?). SBSK RVA 32, LVA 40, BA 32 cm/sec.
What does "cervicogenic" actually mean in this context? Why would this asymmetry occur? I'm 30 years old—how is an elevated SBSK typically managed, and what kind of symptoms should I be bracing for? Thanks.

If you don't have supplemental insurance, you're looking at a co-pay of roughly $8.25.
