Height requirements for fighters in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Even Mark Hunt was short for a heavyweight back in his K-1 days, and he was definitely one of the shorter guys fighting in the UFC🙂

Michelle Davis15 said:Since this whole thread kicked off eight months ago, it’s become pretty obvious that Second Life is nothing more than a massive smoke and mirrors show. Just two months back, there was a deep dive into how fewer and fewer companies are actually sticking around and paying their dues because they simply don't see the point or any actual value in being there..

Where the hell did you read that? Send me the link right now.
What was your first-ever paycheck? in Economy ·
My first gig was flipping CDs and running some shady side hustles back in middle school.
Tried making a buck online after that—total bust.
Now I'm just hunting for a real job, hopefully I find something decent soon.
Saving for my kid in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
haha my old lady’s stashing some pennies in a Chase account or something, I think it's just pocket change. She actually started putting money away for me when I was like 12
but my sister got hers way sooner even though she's younger than me
it’s nothing, just small change I can grab in 3 years
just give the kid $100 a month as an allowance and teach them how to save properly
Chicagoans facing 15% water rate hike in Economy ·
Our wages aren't actually higher. That average salary looks inflated just because all the wealthy Americans live in New York City.
And in places like Florida, you've got all these vacationers moving in.
When you lump their paychecks together with a hundred other people and divide it up, of course the average ends up looking like $10k.
My parents don't even make $7k combined, and they both work full-time.

Please, Los Angeles FC should be paying him an extra few million euros while they're at it.

Look, I’m just saying—I’d feel a whole lot better if I was 7 pounds lighter right now.
Once I drop the next 7, I'll be back.

quiethound45, you really helped me out here
but I'm still leaning towards starting a UN diet since it doesn't look too brutal compared to what I was doing on my last one
basically, I was just eating meat and nothing else, and I had to choke down vitamins because I was deficient

I'm not even mad at Edward Green, she actually said a lot of things that were true

And honestly, I didn't expect this kind of support
I've actually gotten way more support from you guys than I ever did from any doctor
Thanks to everyone
Once those first results start rolling in, I'll post them right here
Alright, I'm heading off to weigh myself and get exact numbers, none of this guessing crap

Man, you're either trolling or just as dense as your body weight. You've been bouncing from doctor to doctor, trying every little thing, but did it never cross your mind to stop eating straight garbage? 👏

And what exactly is so "garbage" about myelin or whatever?
But seriously, just be honest and tell me what you actually eat in a day.
And for the record, I don't eat junk.

I'm grateful to the rest of you for the help.
Starting tomorrow morning with the UN diet, plus an hour of brisk walking in the evening.

Alright, I've decided to go with the UN diet
Seems like the most effective one out there. My mom just hit up the farmer's market for some fruit and grabbed groceries at Kroger, so I'm starting tomorrow.
Is that 40 to 55 lbs in 90 days thing including exercise or not?
Because if it's without, then adding sports should definitely speed things up or boost the results even more.

Thanks for the advice.
Still waiting on more tips—does anyone else know of a solid diet I should stick to?
Or at least some exercises I can do right at home?

Maria Moore4 said:My advice? Don't eat anything. Seriously, nothing. Okay, maybe one meal. A week.
Just drink water and nothing else.
Work out as much as possible—sports, the gym, running, whatever.
Start smoking 😍 it'll kill your appetite.

That is way too extreme. I'm not starting that because everyone warns me against it.
I smoked one cigarette back in 6th grade and never touched it again.
It's just not my thing.
Besides, we aren't even talking about smoking here.

Thanks again to everyone for the support and all the comments
I’m really hoping more people with actual experience will chime in
And please, just don't tell me to "go check this" or "look at that." It would be way more helpful if you could just drop a phone number, an address, or a direct website link
But honestly, even just your advice and support means a ton
I'm 300 lbs and need some advice in Health ·
Fine, I'll lay out how this whole mess started.
I was always just a chubby little kid, nothing major.
Up until 4th grade, it wasn't even a big deal—just that typical school bullying where they pick on you even if you’re only like 10 pounds heavier than your buddies.
But then, over the summer after 4th grade, I blew up. I gained weight fast and ended up with stretch marks all over my stomach. Honestly, I have no clue what I weighed back then.
I ended up at the hospital because of those stretch marks, and they started talking about hormonal imbalances or whatever—my mom didn't tell me the full story.
Anyway, while I was stuck there, I dropped about 10 pounds. I ate normally for a bit and stayed stable, going back for regular blood sugar and cholesterol tests.
Once those results looked better, I started eating more like a normal kid. I loved sweets, though I never had much of them before—not because I didn't want them, just because we didn't have the money, but that isn't an issue anymore.
Then the weight started creeping back up, and the doctor would just scream at me and my mom. Every time we showed up for a checkup, we’d leave the clinic feeling completely humiliated. Eventually, we decided we weren't going to let them treat us like that anymore, so we stopped going.
Naturally, I packed on the weight again.

I think it was 6th grade when I tried counting calories. I lost maybe 15 pounds, but the second I stopped, I went absolutely ham on food. Since I hadn't eaten any sweets during the diet, I started gorging on them like crazy.
And yeah, obviously, I gained it all back plus some extra.

Then in 7th grade, I saw this specialist who did acupuncture—you know, those tiny needles in your ears that are supposed to kill your appetite.
The thing is, my problem wasn't hunger; I was eating because I was bored.
I managed to drop another 10 pounds then, but I just gained it right back later.

There's another reason why I ate, too. Being a fat kid in school is brutal. I can laugh about it now, but kids used to mock me and avoid me constantly. I came home crying so many times because they were messing with me or trying to manipulate me into walking them home by asking for my Yu-Gi-Oh cards. There's a ton of stuff like that I could list.
I can joke about it now, but honestly, if I didn't have a brother in my class who stepped in and helped me out, things would have been a hundred times worse.
But things finally started looking up in 7th grade.

Now comes the worst part.
I hit 215 pounds, and right before 8th grade, my mom suggested seeing a specialist over the summer. I told her I didn't need it and that I could handle it myself.
Big mistake. By the end of summer, I was up to 255 pounds. That's an 18-pound jump right there.
Eventually, I gave in and saw the doctor, even though I felt like it was too late. I started a low-carb diet and dropped down to 225, but later I felt terrible knowing my parents were paying huge amounts of money per hour for these appointments. I eventually told them I was done. If I had just listened to my mom at the start, I wouldn't be dealing with this mess now, and that really eats at me.$100

Then I stopped going, and I shot up to 275, maybe even higher. The scale doesn't go past 275, so I might actually be closer to 300.
Now I want to get serious and do this for good, because now girls are becoming a factor and everything.

That's why I'm looking for help here. It's not like I haven't tried everything already.
And I've tried plenty of those "crash diets" that only last a week or two during that time.
Hopefully, this gives you guys a clear picture of what I'm dealing with.

One more thing: if anyone reading this actually knows me, please don't spread this around at school. It's definitely going to happen.

Honestly, I think swimming is a total waste of time
I'm shifting my focus to the gym instead
Anyone got a solid workout plan to recommend?
My buddy dropped a massive amount of weight in just one year. He used to be pretty heavy, but after a year of grinding, he actually had visible abs
Can't even get a hold of him now because he moved out to Seattle for work

And this whole shame thing is seriously pathetic
You could deal with some embarrassment for two hours a day to get fit, or you can spend the rest of your life being ashamed
I'm gonna try to figure something out
I'm 300 lbs and need some advice in Health ·
Look, I spend maybe half an hour a day moving around
but you skinny people just don't get it
when someone gets as heavy as I am
it’s humiliating to go swimming or hit the gym or anywhere else because everyone stares and glares at me, and honestly, even when I tried jogging
it feels absolutely terrible
I'm too ashamed to even step onto a beach, let alone actually want to go out in public
I don't have issues hanging with my friends—I'm a social guy—but
as they say, I seriously need some self-confidence, and I know that
anyone got any suggestions?

And yeah, I know my diet is garbage
but I swear I have friends who eat twice as much as I do and they're basically skin and bones
plus my doctor told me it's my metabolism and my genes

And to top it all off, I totally messed up and ended up hitting 297 lbs instead of 275
I'm 300 lbs and need some advice in Health ·
Look, I'm 15, about 5'9", and weighing in at 275 lbs
basically, I'm way too heavy.
I've tried everything already—hit up one hospital, saw two private doctors, tried some DIY diets and stuff.
Can you guys give me some actual advice? You people who actually lost weight? Because I feel like I'm in serious danger here.
I tried hitting the gym for two months, but if you go alone, you get bored fast, so I quit.
Then I signed up for kickboxing, but the workouts were brutal. I ended up quitting after a few sessions because my body couldn't handle it—everything would ache so bad I wouldn't recover before the next session.
I tried counting calories and dropped 18 lbs, but then I gained 35 lbs back the second I stopped dieting.
Then I went to a doctor and did acupuncture—they stuck needles in my ear or something, supposedly to stop cravings—and I lost 11 lbs just to gain 33 lbs right back.
With my most recent doctor, I went from 255 down to 227, but once I stopped seeing her a year ago, all those pounds came flooding back.
Today is actually the anniversary of when I started with that last doctor, thinking I’d finally stay thin this time.
The thing is, whenever I stop a diet, I gain it all back, even though I don't think I eat that much.

Here’s what I eat in a day:
When I'm at school in the morning,
I grab a sandwich or a small pizza around 9 AM.
Sometimes if I'm still at school, I'll pick up a Twix or a Bounty bar, but not that often.
I get home around 2 PM and eat whatever was cooked—if it's stew, I'll have maybe two bowls, and if there's meat, I'll eat a normal amount, like two chicken thighs and something else.
Then for dinner, I just have 2 or 3 slices of bread with some spread or deli meat.

In my opinion, that's not even that much food.
So please, if you have experience or know someone who does, leave a comment. I really need some support here.
Neither me nor my mom knows what to do anymore.

And please, don't leave comments like:
"You're just fat and you'll always be fat,"
"There's no help for you," or "Just eat less and work out more."

If anyone can help, I live in Washington, D.C.
Thanks in advance for the support. Maybe your suggestions can help me get out of this mess.
