Dry skin on my hands in Health ·
It could be anything from a fungal infection to an allergy—honestly. My dad went through something similar a few years back. They spent ages treating him with antifungal creams before they finally realized it was actually an allergic reaction... they told him he had to cut certain foods out of his diet. He’s still dealing with it today, though it flares up only occasionally. They suggested he stop eating pork entirely, which—let's be real—is just impossible for him 😁
Anyway, you should probably just see a dermatologist to get a proper look at it
The Psychology of the Crowd in Psychology ·
silentgardener4 said:if that was all there was to it, he could just head down to the State Fair and announce over the loudspeaker, hey folks, I’ve got a brilliant idea! let’s hit the vendor booths because we’ll probably get away with it! and everyone would start looting immediately.

If you have a dense crowd, a single shout would trigger everything. But in your scenario—where maybe two or three people target the booths while the rest of the mass stays packed together—that anonymity is what makes an "action" possible. Anonymity is the key factor here. In your case, one person would have to step out from the crowd on their own initiative, making them an immediate target...

The way crowds act around storefronts always amuses me. Try testing it with two or three friends. Just stop near a shop window or a fenced-off construction site—even just a gap between some paving stones will do. Act surprised or intensely interested, and watch how every passerby stops dead in their tracks, searching for whatever detail caught your eye...😁
Dreaming about it? in Health ·
I’ve been running on way too little sleep lately—can’t seem to find the discipline to actually turn in early, though I have no real excuse other than just being a night owl 😳. After what feels like an eternity—and honestly, it's embarrassing how long this has dragged on—averaging maybe five or six hours a night during the work week, I’m starting to physically fall apart... the irritability is through the roof, everything is too loud, my patience is gone, I can't focus, and worst of all, I'm getting these weird visual glitches. Like, when I'm driving at night, the headlights from the car in front of me will suddenly seem much closer than they actually are, then snap back to their real position in a split second. It’s incredibly unsettling.
And to top it all off, even when I actually try to go to bed early now, I just can't drift off. 😢
Reiki vs. conventional medicine in Health ·
But Karen Brooks, how can you be so sure that the alternative isn't actually right in this instance?
Reiki vs. conventional medicine in Health ·
I wouldn't go so far as to say one alternative completely rules out the other—it’s more like having chronic bronchitis where one doctor prescribes cigarettes as treatment while the other bans them entirely. So, how are you supposed to know who’s actually right when one "therapy" is clearly destructive and contradicts the other?
It isn't meant to be some perfect analogy, I just wanted to point out that these two approaches can clash so violently that they cancel each other out... and people are often willing to take whatever is offered without filtering it—which is understandable, since nobody has the expertise to judge which option is actually sound or safe in the first place.

Muslims, for instance—they don't typically use paper at all. They always use water instead...

Maybe try some baby wipes or something similar—specifically for intimate care...

Hey, Gary Jones10? 😁 😁
and he’s still acting like a total brat—he's barely even out of high school yet😂

Dealing with bronchitis? in Health ·
By the way, you can drink iced tea all day long—if you want—just don't go stepping out into that freezing air. It’s still sweltering outside even though summer's technically ending...

Drink some hot sage tea right before you hit the sack—and I mean hot. Make sure that when you steep the sage in boiling water, you cover it immediately and let it sit for about 15 minutes... Use honey or Splenda if you need a sweetener.
The actual recipe is just half a teaspoon of sage mixed with half a cup of hot milk plus some Splenda.
Have it before bed to warm up—it really helps open up those airways, especially when that freezing air starts making your lungs ache...🙂
Neck pain help needed in Health ·
They need to start physical therapy. The whole point is to master these basic exercises so they can actually manage them daily at home. Also, they absolutely have to use a medical pillow
I went to the local training center this past winter. The sessions run about 30 minutes—followed by about 15 minutes of electrical stimulation therapy
HIV transmission via blood transfusion in Health ·
It’s not directly related, but maybe this will give you some perspective...
My uncle was on the kidney transplant waiting list in Vienna for years—he tried getting it done back in Cleveland too, but things were a mess then and hospitals weren't performing transplants during wartime conflicts. Suddenly, they called him in the middle of the night because they found a match, and by morning, he was already in surgery. The operation itself went perfectly and his body initially accepted the organ, but about two weeks later, the rejection started. It turns out the donor's kidney was actually infected with cancer, which spread after the transplant. My uncle passed away about three or four months later—his weakened system just couldn't handle the chemo or the rest of the treatment. During one visit, I was talking to him—furious, obviously—asking if he was going to sue them. He just calmly told me there was no way he would, because what happened to him happens once in a million cases and he just had the worst luck imaginable...
He explained that if he filed a lawsuit, the hospital might be barred from doing transplants for a while, or the whole thing would just spark a massive panic—and in the end, the only people who truly understand the reality are him and those others whose kidneys have failed, living through dialysis every other day...

And why on earth do people feel the need to punish others with their own problems???
Mind-body connection? in Health ·
Over there in the States, you’ve basically already answered your own question about what’s holding you back. What you really need to settle internally—is finding a solid path where you actually feel confident walking—no matter how much grinding it takes to get there. Just commit to college. Get through it, and then you can decide if the career is actually for you... A degree will open doors, and if nothing else, it gives your decisions some actual weight while you're out there working in your field.

restlessmarlin6, this will come back to haunt you—more than once. You’ll hit those periods of reminiscing, and when you do, be ready... because you’ll end up triggering your own panic attacks. Try to build some kind of positive mental sanctuary: maybe you on a sunny beach in Malibu... or something else you’ve actually survived. Those images need to be strong enough to pull from quickly when things really start to spiral

One minute for two bucks?? Where on earth is that happening?

Of course I have glasses—it’s not like they hide anything... And if you're wondering why there's still a lamp burning by the AC unit, it's because I always step outside right before the timer shuts everything off
Tanning beds in Health ·
Hey ladies, quick question—during those last three minutes when the lamp turns off, you can feel this air blowing... is that just the cooling cycle, or is there something else going on—since another light kicks in right after?
