Good heavens, what on earth could possibly be considered a misconception here?!?!

she’s an incredibly bright girl, truly, but she just drank way too much when it came to discussing sexuality. That’s all there is to it.

Is she always this way toward everyone, or does she only act like this when she's critiquing films that tackle LGBTQ+ themes or other unconventional subjects?

Larry Cruz51 said:What kind of person are you? This is unbelievable. You are intentionally refusing to understand what others are trying to say.

Aha! So, if someone happens to spout something nonsensical, suddenly it becomes my fault because I am "intentionally" choosing not to comprehend them? Very well, I will gladly accept the blame, but let’s not forget that what you said was still complete nonsense.

On topic: I found certain jokes in the movie absolutely hilarious; I was practically doubling over during some of those scenes!

Larry Cruz51 said:I don't buy Minin's critiques because they're just too subjective regarding different sexualities, given their own orientation.

But what on earth do you mean by 'because of their own sexuality'? Are you suggesting that anyone providing a different critique must possess a sexual life or be a sexual being? Honestly, where in today’s chaotic and morally adrift society would you even find a critic devoid of any sexuality?

Just to clear up the uncertainty for you, what you are referring to as "sexuality" is actually known as sexual orientation or preference. Every single human being possesses their own "sexuality."

As for my own experience, Transamerica earned a positive rating from me, specifically because there wasn't a single moment where I felt bored! It wasn't groundbreaking, nothing overly brilliant, and certainly nothing revolutionary, yet it provided ninety minutes of pure, delightful entertainment at the theater. Given that I was watching an American film, that was quite a pleasant surprise, wouldn't you agree? But I suppose I am repeating myself.

She really ought to publish a book filled with her wisdom and land a guest spot on Oprah!

Good grief, is this finally the moment where I’m allowed to start bringing up my dead relatives?

The persistent notion held by some that there ought to be such a thing as an objective critic is a theory that simply refuses to die in certain minds, isn't it? It is truly a pity, I must say.

Oh, come now, Rachel, is that all you have to say? I have a sneaking suspicion that dustyscout53 actually believes you are capable of composing a truly decent film critique!

However, I simply haven't mastered the art of such elegant articulation myself.

Seriously now, why don't you just go start your own blog already?

dustyscout53, are you really sitting around with absolutely nothing to do?

On a different note, thank you so much for the compliment of placing me in the same league as MrBeast and Coca-Cola! Though, if I'm being perfectly honest, don't you think you might have overestimated me just a little bit?

dustyscout53 said:For one reason and one reason only—I truly believe that MrBeast possesses the capacity to pen a coherent film critique! If I actually thought he was an idiot, would I even bother engaging with him at all? 😍

Oh my goodness, wow!🙏 🙏 Do you truly believe he actually has what it takes to pull this off? Can you honestly sit there and maintain that he is capable of such a feat?!
And why on earth would he bother writing you a coherent film critique?
Why don't you go watch the movie and form your own opinion? Wouldn't it be much more rewarding to experience the story firsthand rather than relying on what others have to say?

dustyscout53 said:If critics aren't following my specific blueprint—regardless of which media outlet they're writing for—then what on earth are they even doing with their lives?

Are you actually suggesting that if their reviews don't consist of just rehashing the plot exactly like yours, they shouldn't bother being critics at all?

But what I truly cannot wrap my head around is this—where does this absurd urge come from to call out MrBeast simply because he isn't sticking strictly to the forum's topic? Just imagine: someone actually posts a coherent, thoughtful film review in a discussion thread! Honestly, should we give a round of applause to everyone who writes about music, albums, or concerts? Should we tell them, "Wait a minute, you can't just say 'we danced, the energy was wild, it was hot, the band rocked, and we grabbed drinks afterward'—that's just a basic concert report!" No, apparently that's not allowed! If I, dustyscout53, didn't attend a show, am I expected to write some flowery, over-analyzed literary essay, or should I just keep my actual impressions to myself entirely?
(That was the polite version; the uncensored one would be: what the hell are you talking about, dustyscout53?)

I found the movie to be quite enjoyable! Is it predictable? Certainly. Does it handle its subject matter with that typical, slippery Hollywood touch? Absolutely. Is it perhaps a bit superficial? I suppose so. But even with those flaws, didn't it provide me with a solid ninety minutes of pure cinematic entertainment at the theater?
And honestly, isn't that something I very, very, very rarely get from mainstream Hollywood productions? For that reason alone, I am giving MetLife a positive rating, though I certainly wouldn't go any further than that.

Oh, Paul Mendoza8, I must confess that when I am posting on the forums, I tend to just let my thoughts fly without any sort of filter! I rarely bother to proofread my entries before hitting send, which means they are often absolutely riddled with typos and little mistakes
But don't you worry, because I certainly don't write my actual professional texts that way

Goodness, I honestly feel a bit embarrassed with myself for even bothering to respond to this

Laura Roberts61 said:Well, if I recall correctly, you mentioned earlier—and I am quoting you directly here: "I have their album! And Headspace is playing at Aquarius in just a week. They are absolutely fantastic!"

Is this how you typically pivot your perspective whenever you realize others aren't as enthusiastic about your favorite artists, or should we consider this a rare exception to your rule?

I have only just realized the implication here
and while I truly lack the energy for a debate, I suppose I must respond...

Personally, I find them wonderful (for a multitude of highly subjective reasons!), though I admit, objectively speaking, they aren't exactly groundbreaking. They produce solid, high-quality pop music, and really, calling them "just okay" might actually be a compliment!

I just finished looking through the schedule to get myself up to speed!
And tomorrow we have Dreaming, which sounds absolutely wonderful, doesn't it? 😁

Then on Friday, there's the event at Pušča Bistra featuring DJ Dada Matanić! 👋

😂 though they are promising such incredibly harmonious and powerful dancers 🙂
I think I might head out to catch some live music... but since it starts at 7 PM, perhaps I'll swing by for the movie instead
Does one have to pay an admission fee for this?

Oh, goodness me! 😔

I am merely teasing, though I certainly suspect he is quite busy—but surely that shouldn't stop him from being absolutely charming, don't you think?
If you look just a bit further up at my previous comments, you will see me explaining how I actually find it rather amusing to play the part of the coy, demure wallflower.
That is precisely why I included all those 😁 little emojis in my last post!

Or will Glowatzky show up just so you can drag me along too... 😁
I truly feel for you, but honestly, there is just such an overwhelming amount happening in the city today that one simply must attend...
I am keeping my fingers crossed for that Golden Brush award 😁
