It’s just to maintain the list in the very first post.
beforehand because of the fact that they won't allow signatures in the opening post.
And tell me this: could I, after some show has been airing for over a year, suddenly decide to Open a thread containing a full index of all the topics discussed on that program—let's say, 'Oprah on Reddit'—and would that immediately become a top trending topic?
maks said:but what is the actual distinction between a director and a filmmaker? The term "director" feels a bit politically charged to me, almost like a relic from certain regional political eras, yet it seems to be used so frequently in our local circles that perhaps I am overthinking it.
There truly is no difference at all! From what I have been told by those in the industry, both terms are perfectly valid within American English usage, and you can use whichever one feels more natural to you in conversation.

It's simply because I often feel as though I am asking foolish questions! Oh, I know, I know—they always say there are no stupid questions, but really...
I really wouldn't want to overstep my bounds here, especially since it's quite obvious that I don't fully grasp how all these moving parts work—wouldn't you agree with what Richard Hernandez13 says?
Well, look at this little producer! And here I was under the impression he was actually investing his own capital and pulling resources together from all over!
What about someone like Maloča? I was under the impression that he wasn't part of that primary tier of producers, though I must emphasize that this is merely my own assumption, as I lack any insider access or more granular details to confirm such a thing!
It’s a bit of both, really! But wouldn't you agree that while a producer can easily look up their global standing on IMDb, there is absolutely nothing they can do to account for the unique quirks and local nuances of the American market?
And tell me, does the role of an executive producer actually exist here in the States? Furthermore, is it common practice for a single producer to handle both production and promotion as well?
YOU ARE COMPLETELY SABOTAGING MY THREAD!!!! But honestly, don't you worry, because I have just the remedy for this—shall we simply pivot and discuss who everyone is and how they operate within the entire American film industry instead?
Why on earth would anyone consider it a step down if Šovagović decided to dive into some social commentary or critique? I, for one, am absolutely rooting for it!
True, but perhaps not necessarily! While everyone seems to insist that Šovagović hasn't quite mastered the art of biting social satire just yet, isn't it possible that he simply needs to find his footing and organize his creative vision a bit more? If he could truly harness that spark, wouldn't he emerge as a magnificent social satirist?
So, let us begin (or rather, I invite those of you who are already experts to lead the way, while I shall endeavor to contribute everything within my own knowledge) by demystifying some of the various terms used throughout the film industry! From specific job descriptions down to the lowly role of a best boy, we shall cover it all.
I am happy to kick things off myself!
To start, I find myself quite curious regarding the full scope of a producer's responsibilities—specifically, what exactly does one do beyond simply raising the capital? What does it truly signify when someone declares, "I produced that film"?
I am genuinely struggling to grasp the core purpose of this entire thread. Is there some sort of strategic partnership occurring between OpenAI and Reddit, where the opinions voiced here might eventually find their way onto an NBC news segment if they gain enough traction? Or is this simply a clever promotional tactic for the show *Openly*, designed to spark debate in a space that is fundamentally intended for open discussion among a broad audience? It seems unnecessary to hold a televised debate on a topic just to provide fodder for Redditors to bicker about later, does it not? If people truly have something to say, wouldn't they simply start a new discussion? What possible connection could *Openly* possibly have to this, unless we are looking at a coordinated collaboration between NBC and Reddit—in which case, wouldn't it be much more transparent to just admit that? I am truly at a loss as to what is actually happening here!
Starčević articulated so beautifully on national television exactly what I’ve been struggling to put into words regarding this movie—he remarked, 'It wasn't until the end credits rolled that we even realized Predrag Vušović was playing the judge.' (He actually praised the film, for those wondering) However, I must confess that I find his thesis—both in his commentary and as written here—to be somewhat murky and perhaps a bit pretentious; he suggests that if we had possessed a clearer understanding of the specific roles, the characters, and their connections within the film, Šovagović would have avoided "descending to the level of a mere social commentator."
I didn't attempt to decipher it solely through the plot, though I did try! Regardless, if it's a total disaster for you, then it remains a complete mystery to me, and honestly, I'm perfectly fine with that.
northerncrane4 said:that the very fact that Philip Šovagović appeared in all those films—which ultimately turned out to be utterly incomprehensible and completely missed the directors' original intentions—is exactly what resulted in this deliberate sense of absurdity.
Ahhh! Now it makes a little more sense to me! (Though, mind you, I didn't think that was actually happening to him). But even so, is that really enough to make a movie truly spectacular for me?
