I stumbled upon an excellent link detailing patient experiences within various hospitals across the country—mostly negative accounts, though some positive ones exist.

The silver lining is that most people opted to remain anonymous, allowing them to candidly describe the uncomfortable situations they encountered upon arrival. There are also those who used these pages to share praise and gratitude for specific doctors and nurses.

I found the accounts from mothers regarding their experiences in American maternity wards particularly striking. The bad ones, naturally.

Read through them and leave your thoughts.

I wouldn't have even caught it. This thread is strictly about name meanings and advertising campaigns. I didn't notice a single post framed around smoking being a health hazard. Dwelling on trivialities instead of addressing the core issues—that seems to be a recurring theme across many threads on the Forum. At least the Health section has been relatively decent so far.

And what on earth does an advertising campaign have to do with health? 😕

By the way, I smoke Marlboro Lights.😁

And what now—are we all suddenly on good terms again?
I just hope that pathetic excuse for a person doesn't realize how many threads you were opening all over Reddit just a few months ago, leaking every single bit of her private info. 🙄

As if being hospitalized wasn't bad enough—dealing with scalpel tattoos, getting poked in every vein, being denied water after surgery, and managing the sheer pain—you start to view those things as just part of the deal. You grit your teeth and take it.

But what none of us should have to endure is the total indolence of certain medical staff. And I don’t mean everyone; I’m talking about nurses who act more like camp guards and those condescending types hiding behind titles like "Professor, PhD, Specialist, etc." They won't spare you even the bare minimum of their precious time. For some reason, it’s always one of these personalities in white who ignores me, while the resident doctor next door is an absolute saint. Is the grass always greener on the other side?

I suppose I should say I am "deeply unsettled"—which is the polite way of saying I'm pissed off—that answering a basic question like, "How much longer will I be here?" or "What exactly was done during this surgery?" requires a literal miracle and a prayer to honor the latest research paper published by the attending physician.

Does every doctor develop this massive ego the moment they add a few letters after their name, or is there some secret code in the American Medical Association handbook regarding how to treat patients?

I’m just wondering if everything we undergo will eventually end up being done under some kind of local anesthesia—or induced, whatever the technical term is, Scott Allen10 might know better. Honestly, nothing beats the stuff they used on me; it was better than Dormicum! 😁

To be honest, I’m embarrassed by all the nonsense I blathered on about during my laparoscopy. I spent the whole time giggling and addressing some young resident as "Dr. Luka Kovač." 😁

It also makes me wonder: what was even the point of that premedication injection right before surgery if I didn't feel a single thing from it? 🙄

A friend of mine went last week. He’s been struggling with depression, so his mother sent him to talk to someone. Naturally, she's footing the bill. A single session—just a quick check-in—was about $30. I can't recall the psychiatrist's name offhand, but I could look it up.

Jeffrey Long said:Exactly. I have a friend who's hooked on pills, but it doesn't stop there. It’s speed, ecstasy—if someone decides to be generous with a little cocaine or heavy amounts of booze, then it's game over. A total disaster.😢

Unfortunately, I've seen clinical cases just like that.
If there's nothing available, they'll settle for some old aspirin; if there's an OxyContin lying around, they'll grab that too. And so it goes... from sunrise to sunset. 🙄

Jeffrey Long said:Good grief, do you actually have any idea what a gram of cocaine costs these days?

Five hundred? Is that all? $233Depending on how clean it actually is, you might find one for under $500, though I’d have serious doubts about its condition at that price. For the longest time, he kept the price pegged at around $150.

Jeffrey Long said:Cocaine isn't a drug that creates physical addiction; it’s psychological, just as someone else already pointed out. Naturally, once an addiction takes hold in the later stages, you start seeing things like theft. Though, let's be honest—that's incredibly rare with cocaine users compared to heroin addicts. I am talking about the initial phase of getting hooked. To get addicted to cocaine, you need massive amounts of cash. End of story. 🙂

Aside from that crowd of small-time contractors and those self-proclaimed "weekend warriors," there are others who actually put in the heavy lifting.
The point is, you don't exactly need a mountain of courage to get it over with. "Mentally," of course. You could pull it together in a month, depending on how unstable you already are.

It’s one thing to claim you’re "only using white"—but let’s be honest, most people are lying. You dig a little deeper and find something else entirely. Usually, it's just cheap crushed pills or speed, which is always cheaper. But more often than not, it’s heroin. That’s where the real trouble starts. Once they try to slow things down, that's when they truly get stuck.

If I were that Noah Sanders9's sibling, I’d start by running a lab test on his waste. Then we could see who’s actually telling the truth and what he’s really living on.

Jeffrey Long said:And in the case of cocaine, one assumes a certain level of financial stability.

Read back what you just wrote. Is it really any stranger to hear that addicts—even those hooked on cocaine—have such bizarre ways of chasing their fix? From obsessively coddling inanimate objects at home to playing favorites with others, the spectrum is wide. Then there’s the endless array of scams, not to mention the frequent setup where someone performs a trivial task only to be compensated in something as useless as a favor.

Look—you have to know how to get to love. It doesn't necessarily mean you need to be born into a dynasty like the Kraft family.

Nathan Collins2 said:Cocaine addiction is primarily psychological. This means herbal remedies won't cut it; they only address the physical dependency, which is actually the easiest part to manage.

Precisely. I believe those plant derivatives Noah Sanders9 mentioned are typically used for weaning people off heroin, not cocaine. I read somewhere online—can't recall the exact source.

Try checking out www.recovery.org first. You can find firsthand accounts from former addicts there.

Oh, please... He's my everything. 😍 And honestly, he feels terrible because he knows his snoring keeps me up half the night. But what can you do? I'll just buy him some nasal strips. Consider it an early Valentine's Day gift. 😁

Well—how should I put this? He’s put on about 18 pounds over the last year. At 6'0", he's sitting at 205 pounds now. Do you really think that matters to you?😕

swiftbison7 said:When things got unbearable, she tried using some bandages. It worked at first—the snoring actually stopped—but by the middle of the night, the bandages would peel off and the noise would start right back up.

Forget the peeling issue; we'll figure that out. My real question is: where on earth can you even buy these? Does anyone have a lead?

Another sleepless night... 😢
Snoring issues in Health ·
Actually, it isn't me 😁 but my better half. Lately, it’s become an every-night occurrence. I've noticed the snoring mostly happens when she's absolutely exhausted and overwhelmed by work—which, frankly, has been the case for months. Scaling back the workload? That isn't on the table right now.
For what it's worth, there are no sinus issues or deviated septums involved. She does smoke, though.

I feel like I read somewhere about those nasal strips, and I might have even caught a segment on TV featuring some top-tier American doctor who specializes in this.

My apologies if this topic has already been covered in the Health section. I would appreciate any insight or information that might help. Thanks!

Your chronically sleep-deprived, Gary Jones10. 😢

🤣 😂 Absolute nonsense. Even Coca-Cola isn't a reliable company anymore. I mean a year and two months. 😁

I was over four years into this journey before anything happened. It just wasn't there. That specific click simply didn't occur with anyone. Later, I was in a relationship that lasted two and a half years, only to meet someone five months after we split who was undeniably the one. We’ve been together for about fourteen months now. 🙂
