Jack Fowler4 said:You want to? Then go ahead and do it! Right now. It is physically possible, and you have the means to make it happen. Ultimately, the choice is yours.

I certainly do 😁 😁 😁 😍 I just can't quite manage it today or tomorrow 👍

Robert Diaz7 said:maybe it’s time you actually faced reality for once? 😛 😉 like, specifically that person staring back at you in the mirror? 😛

That person is just terrified—they aren't afraid of anything else, not even a terminal diagnosis.

Jack Fowler4 said:If you were actually serious about this, you would be doing whatever it takes to make it happen.
So, either start preparing for actual humanitarian missions, or just settle for arguing on internet forums. Or perhaps find some other hobby.
If this is what truly brings you fulfillment—collecting stamps, reading phone books, growing sunflowers, whatever—then fine. As long as you aren't hurting anyone, who cares?

edit: But if you genuinely want to leave your house and experience the real world, yet find yourself paralyzed by an internet addiction, the simplest (and perhaps only?) solution is to cut the cables or see a psychologist.

If I really wanted to cut the cords and head off to Africa 😁 😁 😁

Jack Fowler4 said:If that’s really how it is, then why all the complaining? Just do whatever makes you happy. (You only live once, right?)

But think about it: do you have any other goals? Will you look back one day and regret that you didn't pursue something else instead?

I'd love to go out and provide aid to people in Africa, but honestly, how would I even find a doctor over there????

Jack Fowler4 said:Same here. Though, I tend to spend more time lurking and reading than actually typing anything out.

Question: do you ever get the feeling that you're just wasting your time?

Not really, though I wouldn't mind a little more excitement in my life—aside from the usual tablet stuff.😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

Look, I have respect for all living things. I make sure I don't go anywhere just to be a nuisance to others.
But when it comes to a dog😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 🙂

Taylor Campbell4 said:We have already settled that point ☕ And if it still isn't clicking for you—well, just stick around the forum. Maybe in a month, or perhaps six months, you'll get bored enough that it might finally make sense; or maybe it won't, and we'll be right back where we started 🙂

Fair enough. ☕

And hey, summer is just around the corner!!! ☕

Taylor Campbell4 said:Well, I suppose it’s perfectly normal for you to just stay cooped up at home, glued to the internet all day long ☕

What would I even have to do outside anyway?☕

Taylor Campbell4 said:No, I really can't. Just tell yourself I CAN, I CAN , instead of saying you can't... 👍

Aha! I see what you did there.

By the way, I have zero interest in being "normal"...

But I'm definitely planning on heading somewhere far away from all this nonsense...

Don't we just have the best luck? We've got Oprah on one hand, but then we're stuck with Johnny Logan over here? A survey? Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Oh, Grandma... 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
She’s passing away, and I won't get to see her one last time.
I just can't leave right now; I have to stay strong for both of them.
But if only things were different.
My heart is just breaking...

I honestly don't see the issue; it all seems pretty standard to me. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Ah, I see.
I want to get a clear definition first, and then I'll make my decision regarding the forum.

So you head down to the video store to pick up adult movies, yet you have the nerve to call me a total loser? Man, you are something else...

I’m staying perfectly healthy over here... No drinking... I've been under the weather... and I'm not even eating meat anymore...

Taylor Campbell4 said:Pro tip: If you’re feeling stuck, just find someone else and try to mimic their moves 😁
Just kidding. Honestly, sometimes you have to step away from what you're doing entirely just to realize what actually matters. You need to force yourself to pause—it’s often when you finally slow down, soak in some outside perspective, and detach from the grind that the right idea actually hits you. 😉
I tend to observe things for a bit—and you should too—before deciding how to act. I try to pay attention to how it feels when I spend way too much time scrolling through forums (usually just leaves me feeling empty) versus when I actually accomplish something useful. At the end of the day, anyone can choose to be productive.

I'm glad you're joking, because most of the people I hang out with are online, though they do jump into some video games every now and then...

Taylor Campbell4 said:I won't go unless it's essential.😁 Personally, if I feel like I'm chronically lacking Vitamin D, I'll make an effort to step outside for some sunlight—maybe walk instead of driving—just to stay healthy enough to keep working. Since I'm living a bit far from my usual circle, I tend to compensate by spending more time on this forum, 😁 though I know that's not ideal. I've become a bit too reliant on these threads. I'm trying to break the habit by focusing on what actually matters—finding the truth in things. Obviously, I wouldn't cancel plans with a close friend just to browse online, but sometimes I find myself scrolling for way too long when I really should be getting things done.

Lisa Rodriguez84 said:There are some solid points here. Honestly, the best move is to just find a hobby—anything, really, as long as it’s actually useful. Or, if you're feeling desperate, just ask a moderator to ban you for a few days. If nobody bites, try posting twice in the politics section; you'll inevitably annoy someone, and then you can just tell them exactly what you need. Boom, ban achieved.
Taylor Campbell4 started a thread just like this one maybe two or three months ago. I can't remember how it ended up.
By the way, if you want to see how much someone actually uses this forum, just look at their daily post count:
@briskgull27—you've got 60. Isn't that actually a bit overkill?
And if you check out the top 10 or 20 most active users on the site, their average sits right around 30.

You're totally breaking that doctor-patient relationship 😈 😈 😈 😈
