NYC

Some are always there, the rest just rotate.

NYC is endlessly boring to me. It feels like some gloomy fall day where it never stops raining.

There’s always a core group, then everyone else rotates. And it's not just for Interpol 😉

My Pampers list:

1. drown
2. soma
3. galapogos
4. 1979
5. luna
6. to forgive
7. daydream
8. disarm
9. hummer
10. rocket

The first five are locked in. The rest change depending on my mood. Hm... nothing after the third album 😬 😈

FBI:

1. Bad
2. Star...
3. Slow hands
4. Obstacle 2
5. C'mere

Laura Gonzalez44, I flipped the order on purpose because even I thought those were objectively the worst ones. Who else gave a damn about those tiny little things when we had those cigarette-shaped ones? 🙂

My top 5 ice creams:

1. classic vanilla cone
2. Nutty Buddy (anyone remember those ones with the extra chocolate crunch?)
3. Macho Vanilla
4. King Double
5. 🤔 ... did I miss Ben & Jerry's?

Top 10 childhood gums, countdown style:

1. Those little round plastic balls—you'd get like 15 in a pack and they’d lose all flavor in two minutes
2. Hubba Bubba—my first real gum, back when they had those sticky stickers inside
3. Chunga Lunga (with those stupid pictures nobody actually wanted)
4. Those coin-shaped gums
5. The cigarette-shaped ones
6. The tube-style gum
7. Bubble-Double
8. Softy
9. Effeta 😬
10. Brooklyn

Laura Gonzalez44 🙂

...so, keeping it brief—here’s my list of unforgivable fashion crimes:

1. Every pair of pants I left back in Washington, D.C. over the summer somehow ended up in my closet looking slightly cropped and hemmed with this weird, thick material. The excuse? "They were dragging on the floor." 🙄
2. That blue striped tee where I spent way too much time carefully picking out the threads at the sleeves just so I could shove my thumbs through. The reason given: "It was torn." 🙄
3. Those navy fleece pants I lived in during high school hiking trips—the ones I used to patch with heavy bright red thread so you could actually see the battle scars from brambles, burrs, and rocks. They’ve been patched with blue thread instead. 🙂 Excuse me? "Because you wouldn't want the stitches to show." 🙄

Top 5 things I finally tossed:

1. Those bell-bottoms from freshman year. They started out black but faded to this weird grayish-blue mess by the end. Had to ditch them because the seams were basically splitting under my butt, and since the zipper was shot, I was literally using safety pins to keep them up.
2. My burgundy Chuck Taylors. Easily my favorite pair ever. Had to let them go because the soles literally melted after working all summer. Haven't thrown them out yet though.😁
3. My dad's blue Adidas shirt from the 70s. The sleeves are insanely long—like, 12 inches too long. Mom decided it was time to toss it.😳
4. Some random animal bone a friend gave me for a New Year's party back in the day. Wore it as a necklace for ages. Didn't even have to throw it away; it just vanished.😢
5. A sweater I wore in elementary school. It meant a lot because my late aunt knitted it for me. It eventually just fell apart. Plus, I grew out of it.😢

If they are, then that's not candied, damn it. Probably.

Facts. 👍

michael_jackass said:I'm not kidding about the flowers or the marzipan. Absolute nightmare. It makes me want to eat pancakes with mayo. Wait— 🤔 actually, I did try it and it was killer!!!!! 😁

Whatever, bless your little hearts and those tired taste buds... 🙄
You shouldn't even be allowed to touch or smell marzipan.

Abyss said:it didn't come from the cafeteria. Corny is a high-end chocolate bar.

They serve everything in the dining halls now. Even those little Dorin bars. 😍

At this rate, we'll be getting Kinder eggs too. 😁

Speaking of fruit chocolate, I can't stand the ones with liquid filling. Gross.

Exactly. 😈 😈 😈

stormyviper11 said:Raisins and marzipan are basically at opposite ends of the food quality spectrum. There’s nothing worse than a raisin, and nothing better than marzipan.

Give raisins one more shot.
Used to hate them too, but after five days hiking the Rocky Mountains, they actually grew on me. Just don't eat them in cookies or chocolate—eat them plain. 😉

Sean Lee7 said:Raisins on their own suck. Worst thing ever invented. Add some marzipan and we’re gonna have a problem. Sorry not sorry. 🙂

I'd love to see you trying to hike up the Rocky Mountains... raisins plus a shot of bourbon = pure energy. 😁

As for that marzipan nonsense, I'm just gonna assume you're trolling. 🙂

My bad, plebs... ☕

My palate just can't handle this cheap crap they serve to the common crowd. 🥳

Gonna go demolish another bar of Hershey's. Intense Orange Hershey's, and if I get lucky, maybe I'll even stumble upon some stray Duc D'O. truffle 😉

1. Caramelized hazelnuts 🙂

The list should be longer, but honestly, nothing else vegan even comes close.

Uhh, sounds delicious 🙂 😍

Best orange chocolates 😬:
1. Hershey's
2. Lindt 2. Swiss Delica Quote

lonebison37 said:Cao Cao? What even is that? 😕 What year were you guys born in? 😁

Just some cheap biscuit snack covered in chocolate that falls apart instantly. Looks like they pivoted to a new demographic—if it's not good enough for high schoolers, it'll definitely fly with broke college students. 😬

My mom used to have one too, but she basically confiscated it. Lately, she claims ownership over every single kids' book in the house. From Winnie the Pooh and Wind in the Willows (whatever! 😍 ) to Lord of the Rings...

That elephant is way too iconic to be tucked away in Africa... that's THE elephant.

What's wrong with it? It's actually one of the few decent games out there. 😍

The top 4 literary connections between people and animals that made me jealous:
1. Heidi and the goats
2. Nella and the elephant
3. 3. Tarzan and Cheetah
4. Snow White and the birds and all those other critters

Kevin Chavez3 said:"Through deserts and jungles" is easily the best book ever written. How on earth could you find that boring? I still pull it off the shelf at least once every couple of years. 😍

Yeah. 😍

I picked up that edition of The Washington Post. Honestly, someone needs to take out the translator. 😠

Kevin Chavez3 said:"Through deserts and jungles" features Africa and a brave kid saving a pretty girl. Basically, the perfect book.

And you forgot about the elephant? 🙂

By the way, looks like everyone’s forgotten about Pippi Longstocking... 😢

Sandra Chase16 said:I was at a 3.5, but honestly, reading is one of my earliest traumas. I remember walking into the school library with my whole class and picking up Captain Grant's child because I’d already finished every single picture book they had. The librarian just snapped at me, calling me a lying little idiot. I ended up kicking her in the shin and bolting. For the next two days, I skipped school entirely to hang out by the boardwalk... still gets me every time.😠 😠

Unbelievable! 😲 😲 😲

The exact SAME thing happened to me with some jerk librarian back in middle school. He tried to push some picture book on me—think it was a little girl with scissors—so I called him out on it. He told me I was making stuff up and shoved a collection of short stories 😠 by Ella Enchanted into my hands instead. I lost it. After that, I didn't step foot in his library for the rest of eighth grade; I just stuck to the public library downtown.

Anyway, glad I learned how to quote early on... as payment for all those picture books, the kids at daycare used to let me take turns on the swings. 😁 🥳
