Where on earth is the championship trophy? I’ve been scanning through this sea of trivial nonsense all day and I still can't spot it!

It’s probably looking that way, but honestly, after eight solid years of service, that machine definitely earned its keep and paid for itself many times over!

I was sitting there when these weird gray lines suddenly streaked across my screen, so I did what any panicked person would do and just killed the power. Now, whenever I try to boot it back up, the cooling fans kick into gear, but the screen stays pitch black—just total nothingness. I see that little LED that usually indicates CPU load flicker on for a split second and then die right along with it.

What should my next move be? I’ve already tried reseating the RAM, pulling it out and clicking it back in, but it hasn't made a lick of difference.
How can I actually pinpoint where the breakdown is happening?

Quick question about power supplies—can I go with one that has a higher wattage? I'm a little tripped up because my current charger is rated at 65W and 19.5V, but when I’m browsing eBay, it seems like almost all the 65W options listed are 18.5V. Is that going to be an issue?

On another note, I’m thinking a 120GB SSD should be plenty for my needs, especially since my Windows installation is already taking up such a huge chunk of my current partition. My plan is to just keep my 500GB HDD tucked away for extra storage. Does it actually make a difference if I pop the SSD into the optical drive bay instead of keeping the HDD in its original slot, or vice versa? Is there any real performance gap between those two setups?
