How do you deal with anxiety? in Health ·
Exactly! It just fades away on its own... because after a few nights, you realize there aren't any ghosts or visions or anything. 😁 I was a little spooked at first, but honestly, it passes after a while. Even though having the TV on can be distracting when you're studying, maybe it's not bad to leave it running—it kind of gives you the feeling that someone else is home, as long as it doesn't actually mess with your focus...

And obviously, just lock all your doors...

Also, try to be friendly with your neighbors, or at least enough so you aren't total strangers. Then it feels like they're living right there with you, just in the next room over...

Plus, you can usually hear neighbors through the walls, so you’re basically never alone. Theoretically (and practically, too), there are people just a few feet away from you!

Don't sweat it, it's all part of being human! 😁 😉
Are microwaves actually harmful? in Health ·
I think this came up before. Maybe dig through the archives a bit...

Anyway, some people say it's bad for you, others say it's totally fine! Who can you even trust? 😁 I guess it's probably not exactly the healthiest thing, though...
Tanning beds in Health ·
Oh come on, there's nothing to be ashamed of! Just be yourself!! Honestly, that vibe is pretty sexy too! 😉 Don't even worry about it. 😉

I mean, the fix is pretty easy—just don't go to the tanning salon! 😁

Btw, I'm a guy. 😉 But this doctor at the seminar was totally shaken up and against tanning; she said she wouldn't even dream of using a UV bed because it's just awful. I probably wouldn't go anyway, but still...🙂 She mentioned they might practically ban them soon! She was like, "Watch out," and I guess I just felt like I should share that with everyone.😁 😉

steelharbor12 said:I mean, even sitting out in the sun too long isn't great for you. I guess nothing is totally fine if you overdo it, including tanning beds. Anyway, maybe I'll regret it in a few years...

Yeah, but we're talking about tanning beds specifically. It doesn't really matter how long you're in there. They're just inherently bad. But hey, if someone wants to go for it, that's on them...😁

Not exactly, but we're talking specifically about tanning beds... I heard they might actually get banned soon...

So, a doctor friend of mine mentioned she was at this medical conference recently where they were discussing tanning beds. Apparently, it's been proven they cause skin cancer. But they aren't allowed to go public with it yet because the whole tanning industry lobby would collapse and people would freak out. I guess they'll start making noise about it pretty soon though.

That's what she told me, anyway. She's probably lying—and I guess I am too! 😁
Is drinking distilled water safe? in Health ·
I guess distilled water is probably best for making those antioxidant teas. Like, I think people suggest brewing Taheebo in distilled water specifically. Maybe it’s so the antioxidants don't get wasted fighting all the metals in regular tap water. So, it’s not like it's toxic or anything, but it's probably not the ideal choice for everyday drinking.
Homeopathy: Yay or Nay? in Health ·
Ronald Alvarez7 said:I know plenty of folks who were super skeptical about homeopathy at first. But it actually worked for them, so I guess it can't just be a placebo effect.

That's true. I was one of those skeptics too, and honestly, it helped me out! 🙂
Noni vs. Aloe Vera: Which is better? in Health ·
analogowl18 said:Basically, it’s proven that both plants help boost the immune system, which is already a huge deal.
From what I've looked into regarding Noni, not every company selling it is actually any good. There are tons of juices out there with tiny percentages that don't really work, yet they charge an arm and a leg for them.
Then there's papaya, which some estimates say works just as well against certain diseases.

I guess it really comes down to boosting immunity, since the body is pretty much capable of fighting off all sorts of crap, so you might as well give it that extra push when dealing with stuff like this.

I've read about Taheebo too. Its main thing is strengthening the immune system, and people claim it's great for fighting cancer and AIDS. But then again, AIDS is basically just a weakened immune system. So, maybe we just need to give the body a chance to heal itself.

Btw, since I know you're dealing with some serious health issues too, maybe look into Taheebo if you feel like it, or if you haven't already. There was this guy I knew who supposedly beat cancer in his 80s using nothing but Taheebo (you can easily find info on it online—don't want to sound like I'm pushing it), and he spent the rest of his life dedicated to that plant and making products from it.

There's also this supplement called Varumin from overseas that even a former US President apparently used. I don't know much about it, but maybe that stuff is okay too.

Anyway, whether it's propaganda or a placebo effect, Noni and aloe seem to have some effect.

P.S. If you don't mind, could you please DM me where you ordered your Noni from? There are so many brands out there, it's honestly hard to figure out which ones are legit... thanks.

Brian Martin9 said:People I know have used aloe vera... a cousin of mine who had uterine cancer says it basically saved her life, but my dad has lung cancer and he just can't stand the taste of aloe, unfortunately...

I guess some people swear it doesn't work at all, while others think it's a miracle cure. You see different studies saying one thing and then another... nobody seems to have reached a consensus yet, but still...

Btw, maybe try giving your dad aloe capsules? I know it's not quite the same as the juice, but...

How can you say for sure it was just a placebo effect? I mean, maybe it was, but who knows. Unless you were there running clinical trials on her personally, 😉

Anyway, whether it's placebo or not, it worked for her, I guess. 🙂

I mean, just try it. It's not like it hurts to find out! 😁

P.S. Actually, it's probably only like $5.

Did you use the neutralization tablet with that solution? I mean, Acuvue Moist is peroxide-based, so you definitely shouldn't let it touch your eye without neutralizing it first. And honestly, rinsing after using it is kind of unnecessary—it just seems like extra work moving the lenses around your fingers for no reason...

What do you guys think works better? Like, specifically when dealing with tumors or cancer... And is it better to go with the juice or just take capsules?

crimsonbear23 said:I don't know what kind of lenses you have—hard or soft (silicone hydrogel). I’ve been wearing contacts for 7 years, started with soft ones, and never had any issues. You can pretty much do whatever you want, except maybe swimming in the ocean. Well, you *could*, but I’ve gone free-diving without a mask a few times and ended up losing a lens 😁
Of course you can wear sunglasses! They don't clash at all. I’ve even worn my lenses for 3 or 4 days straight once or twice. I talked to my eye doctor about it, and they said it’s not recommended, though nothing catastrophic will happen.

So, I’d suggest getting some artificial tears—something like $13 should work, you can find them at any drugstore. It’s good to use them whenever your eyes feel "dry." You can use them even when you aren't wearing contacts, too.
It might be smart to grab some contact lens tablets, too. You can get those at the pharmacy. They help strip away proteins and enzymes from the lenses. They're a bit pricier, but worth it. It’s basically like regular "maintenance" for your lenses.

Since you're a girl, I'm assuming you wear makeup. So—always put your lenses in first, then do your makeup! Otherwise, you'll end up with gunk in your eyes, trust me. 😁

I totally agree! 😁

One more thing: if they're soft lenses, yeah, you can swim in a pool or the ocean, but DON'T go free-diving (like I mentioned) with your eyes open. Even then, you should be careful, especially at first until you get used to them. I've been swimming in the ocean with mine for years and almost never have an issue, though a few times they felt a little off, so I just adjusted them, rubbed my eye gently, and was fine. Fitness, jumping, running, etc.—you can do all that without a problem, unless you get sand in your eye, which isn't really a lens thing anyway.

Just one precaution... Usually, when I'm heading out for a full day trip or something active like swimming, I bring my contact case with me, just in case something happens and I need a place to put them or rinse them out...

I also recommend artificial tears... Bausch + Lomb contact lenses work okay for me...

And btw, I'm not sure what cleaning system your eye doctor suggested, but I use the Acuvue Moist system, and it's way better and easier than that method where you just soak them in two different cases and let them float. Something like this can be seen at this link . That's the closest thing I could find to what I use; the case and manufacturer are actually the same, just the liquid looks slightly different. Maybe it's my exact brand and they just changed the bottle design 😲 😁 Anyway, I'd recommend Acuvue Moist and Alcon (formerly Allergan)....
I've heard people say those kinds of machines don't just fail to help, but might actually mess up your muscles and nerves by forcing them to react artificially... I mean, it sounds okay in theory, but who knows...
So, I guess they can't be totally wiped out? Or maybe they just kind of fade away on their own after a while? Hmm, pretty weird phenomenon...
A friend of mine has these little bumps on her veins near her wrist. Just a few small lumps, maybe a couple inches apart. She’s had them for a while, but she says her hand and arm have been aching lately, especially when she’s trying to do anything precise or heavy. She actually just had surgery recently and was hooked up to an IV for a bit, so I guess maybe that played a part in it...

What could that even be? Like, maybe some kind of blood clot??😕

hmm, then why is it so widely accepted and used over in Germany, for example?

Apparently, it was working pretty well abroad...
