Just some nonsense about virtual flying and kissing.
Two women fall for a quadriplegic guy out of nowhere? After twenty-eight years of absolutely nothing happening? Man, talk about pure drama.🙄
He’s on his deathbed and suddenly drops a book? Man, how predictable.😵
Man, that movie was just pure, unadulterated melodrama—so much forced pathos that none of us five girls even shed a single tear.
...

Some movies have endings you can see coming from a mile away just because of the subject matter, but I don't think that's necessarily a flaw. Or are you actually suggesting the movie should've ended with some miracle where he jumps out of the wreckage, wipes the floor with both of them, and walks away? 😉 That would be a little too Hollywood, wouldn't it? 😉
That whole idea of virtual flight works as such a beautiful metaphor for his inner world—all those desires and fantasies... honestly, I think it’s a pretty solid counterweight to that pull toward death.
So, two women falling for each other... I mean, come on, it feels a little forced, but I guess you need that kind of tension to keep the plot moving. 😉
Publishing a book was never really on his radar until she saw that spark in him and convinced him he actually had something to say. It’s nothing out of the ordinary, though. Honestly, it won't be long before Walter gets his own book out there anyway—it's not like getting published is an impossible feat these days. 😉

Hands down the best movie I've seen all year. It’s such a breath of fresh air compared to those cookie-cutter Hollywood blockbusters we're always stuck with.
The soundtrack is gorgeous, too—especially that moody track by Carlos Nunez featuring Black. Definitely worth a watch and a listen 😉
Cell phone numbers in Law ·
nn-st1 said:Sure you can. For instance, you could be sued for emotional distress caused by leaking that info.
Depending on who we're talking about, publishing their number might result in them being flooded with calls—whether people mean well or aren't so friendly—which leads to real headaches, like losing sleep, wasting business hours, or dealing with actual threats. As for physical damages, the cost of changing a number and updating contacts is pretty much negligible.
Basically, if they’ve got a high-priced lawyer on retainer, you’re gonna have a bad time...
When someone keeps their number private, there's usually a damn good reason why...

Just because someone has a valid reason to stay off the grid doesn't mean everyone else has to respect that boundary.
What's that supposed to mean, "if they have a good lawyer, you'll have a bad time"? The question is whether or not you're legally allowed to publish it. To me, this seems like a black-and-white issue—it's either legal or it isn't—and how expensive someone's attorney is shouldn't change what a judge decides....
That's just my two cents, anyway...😉

Listen, kid, don't get cheeky with me.😉
Vera Drake in Movies ·
Jose Miller17 said:...this new Leigh flick is about Vera Drake, a woman performing abortions in London back in the 50s... there's truth to a lot of what's shown... but you gotta hand it to Leigh, the England in his movies never looked like a place I'd actually want to visit...
Plus, he put together the most incredible couple I've seen on screen in ages... Reg and Ethel 😍 , and man, he captured the most heartbreaking Christmas scene I've ever watched... seriously :-) *

* highly recommended by all 6 patrons at the local AMC theater 😁

Who's paying you? WHO THE HELL IS PAYING YOU?! 😉

The girl clearly thinks the role is worth all that sweat and effort, so I don't see what the big deal is... honestly, I'd rather she have to put on some weight for a part than be forced into some grueling diet. 😁
I think you get my point—I'm not saying anyone is forcing her hand, it's just that for the role she wants, she needs a slightly more elegant fullness... because who actually likes 😉 ...

It's a misunderstanding. I'm not talking about Anne Hathaway's desire to land a part in this movie. In a low-budget Hollywood film, it’s totally normal for actors to fight for roles. My issue is with the casting director. Wouldn't it be way easier to just pick someone whose look already fits the vision instead of stressing over whether an actress can adapt? For God's sake, it's not like she's Anne De Niro, and this isn't going to be some massive blockbuster anyway. 😉

Back when Robert De Niro packed on an extra 40 pounds or so for his role in Raging Bull, it seemed totally worth it since he absolutely crushed that performance.
But then I’m listening to some random late-night show last night, and they’re claiming Anne Hathaway has to gain like 15 pounds for her part in What it means to be a man without a mustache. Given how tight budgets can get in a Hollywood film, I don't really get why they'd push an actress like that instead of just casting someone who already fits the look for the part.
Does anyone have a logical explanation for this? 😉
