The movie is fine, I guess, but honestly? It’s one of those good films that I just didn't personally vibe with. I totally get that the director was aiming for this heavy, suffocating atmosphere, but man, some of those scenes just dragged on forever. The way Leigh builds the narrative is beautiful, really, but I can't help but feel like they could have said so much more without the filler.

I actually thought Imelda was great. Mark Hughes36 claims she was overacting, which... maybe? But that’s probably just the director's stylistic choice. That total paralysis she hits? It makes sense because her perfect little world just imploded out of nowhere. I mean, it’s gotta be rough when you spend your whole life thinking you're doing the right thing, only to suddenly find out you're being punished for it. Though, it is a bit weird that she seemed so blindsided—you'd think she'd realize deep down that what she was doing was actually illegal 😕

As for everyone else, they all killed it. Reg and Ethel were absolute standout performances. Honestly, they were so grotesque it was almost hard to watch, swinging right between tragic and hilarious 😛
Radiohead sucks in Music ·
Man, whenever I see people comparing Muse and Radiohead, it honestly makes my skin crawl. I’ve listened to pretty much everything both bands have put out and they both mean a lot to me (though I’m leaning slightly more toward Muse), but I seriously don't get where people get the idea that Muse is just a Radiohead rip-off. Especially that claim that Showbiz is just a copy of The Bends?!?! If people were talking about, say, Interpol or Snow Patrol, I might get where they're coming from, but Muse?!?!??! In my humble opinion, they are completely different beasts. The only thing you could even argue is that the vocals share some similarities—not that Bellamy's isn't way better.

Anyway, back to Radiohead. I’m really into The Bends and OK Computer, and even HTTT. I can handle a few tracks on Pablo Honey too, but Kid A and Amnesiac... they just never quite click for me. Still, I see how much everyone else loves them and raves about them, and I don't think it's just people trying to act trendy. Maybe those albums are just gathering dust in my collection for now, but who knows? Maybe one day it'll finally click for me too.

By the way, I really don't get the point of Spike saying "this sucks, that sucks, this rules, that rules" and all that. It's just... why? And I also don't understand the original poster's motive, or why they even felt the need to start a thread titled Radiohead sucks. I guess it's considered "cool" to say Radiohead sucks. Like, opening a thread called "Britney sucks" would be totally ridiculous, but if you go after Radiohead... then suddenly you've made a huge statement and proven you're a true music connoisseur...

Radiohead sucks?!?!?!? Seriously? That’s a pretty bold claim. Honestly, I wouldn't even dare say that about Britney Spears, let alone a band as brilliant and creative as Radiohead. I mean, pretty much everyone—regardless of whether they actually like them or not—has to admit they're geniuses. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly a huge fan of their newer, super experimental stuff, though you can still find some absolute gems in there if you look. The Bends is solid, sure, but OK Computer? That is a straight-up masterpiece. I listen to just about everything, and even though my heart usually leans toward heavier music, if someone asked me what my all-time favorite album is, this one would be the first thing I'd mention 🙏 🙏 🙏

Campy, kitschy, or just straight-up trash!

I honestly don't have enough imagination to find the joy in this nonsense
or try to hunt down some non-existent spark of genius.

Thanks, but—no, thanks!👎

I’m with Emily Torres2 on this one. Honestly, I’d go even further and say this stuff is bottom-of-the-barrel. I can't stand seeing people get exploited like this, and that is definitely what's happening here—it’s just being passed off as "cool." I watched those previous
"clips" and all I felt was pure pity. There wasn't a single laugh or an ounce of actual entertainment to be found.

I haven't actually sat down to read the book. To be honest, the movie isn't exactly some life-changing masterpiece, but it’s still pretty engaging and definitely worth a watch—especially since the cast is just incredible. Nicole is 👍 , and Hopkins is already legendary 🙏
