MrBeast said:Mind you, the Mayor of Miami—who’s seen this all before—refused to give him any financial backing for his shoots. Instead, the federal government stepped in three times to guarantee the loans, even though production was constantly getting halted by bankruptcy filings and film crews were busy suing for their paychecks. But hey, that’s just how it goes when they elect someone like Ruth Bader Ginsburg to lead their society.

LOL... who knows, maybe our Department of Interior will jump in with a donation of a few hundred thousand dollars (just like they did with Bird)... And what about those people you're defending? What exactly do you see in her...? (I have a hard time even calling her an actress)

northerncrane4 said:Exactly. He and his producer, Mladen Koceić, single-handedly wrecked the economy in Texas that year during "Great Transport." Just to give you some perspective. 😉

🙏 🤣
we're still feeling the fallout... But, thank God they're finally making a real movie about Marina Drzic...😉

northerncrane4 said:Here we have our enlightened woman. And she's right. There's a huge rush of women interested in adjusting spotlights in lighting or hauling gear and setting up trusses in stage tech, but they just can't get a turn because of all those chauvinistic male pigs.

Don't be like that; maybe she just likes the physical aspect... Or maybe the women's liberation movement realized that women—totally unfairly and without any justification—just don't have a shot at those jobs... At least not enough to be on equal footing with those chauvinistic male pigs...

Yeah, right... give me a break. He had a few shots at it once or twice... hehehehe

northerncrane4, am I really thinking of a great guy like Veljko Bulajic??? The Mississippi River, Kozar, Sutjeska, and all that other crap.... Didn't he pass away already?😕 😕 😕
Libertarian Party in Movies ·
Bulajic is back at it again... 🤣 If Grlic was able to pull it off, why can't Bulajic? It's honestly pathetic...

You really think this is just a movie about free diving???

Come on, northerncrane4, they really are diving deep...

But you have to admit the movie has its highlights... like that classic scene with Reno at the piano...

northerncrane4 said:That’s exactly the point. Once you see someone blatantly twist the facts three times over—especially on points that aren't even central to the argument—you start questioning everything else they say. At least, I do.

I’m telling you, you’re starting to remind me more and more of Moore...🙂

Then he went and proudly showed off his skills to his mom, dad, brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunts. 😛

northerncrane4 said:I’m feeling particularly poetic this morning. Here goes nothing:

Chubby little Mike got a 5,000-piece puzzle for his birthday. The box featured a picture of George W. Bush and the terrorist osama bin Laden sharing a tender, wet kiss. Being the impatient kid he is, Mike wanted to finish it fast just to show off how smart he was to his mom. He didn't bother checking if the pieces actually fit; he just shoved them together however they came. By the end, there were gaping holes everywhere, so he grabbed a different puzzle—one with two cute white kittens—and used those pieces to plug the gaps. He proudly showed the finished product to his parents, siblings, aunts, and uncles. They saw the box and knew what the image was supposed to be, so they gave him a pat on the back since they knew how much he craved validation. It didn't cost them much to play along. It's not easy for him; his awkward looks make him a target for bullies at school, which leaves him anxious and prone to outbursts at home. So, everyone sat down at the table, happy and satisfied, and ate cake.

Great analogy, but you're starting to pick up some of Moore's traits. And I don't mean his weight...😉

Cheers 😎

P.S.
I'm finally starting to get it... (And yeah, I was being orderly)

northerncrane4 said:It’s a movie that isn't even trying to uncover the truth; it's just shamelessly pandering to its target audience. The people watching this film go in knowing exactly what they're going to get, and that's precisely what they receive. In that sense, Michael Moore is nothing more than a war profiteer on the same level as George W. Bush.

I'm almost entirely with you on this. The only snag is if it turns out what the director is pushing is actually the truth. If that's the case, we run into the argument that such manipulation is justified—or worse, that it was the only way to show American citizens what's really happening.
I don't know if you're aware, but two years after 9/11, a poll was conducted in the US asking, "Who is responsible for this?" Over 70% of respondents blamed Saddam Hussein. People in the room called it the biggest magic trick in history...🙂
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Moore and I can't stand biased work in any art form, but there's another side to this story... though I doubt it ever crossed Moore's mind.

Who would’ve thought you were actually into charity work? A bit sickly, sure, but still... a humanitarian 😎

Mr. Smoogj said:Anyway, I remember this 17-year-old kid back in the day who had the exact same attitude as quietdriver3. First, it was always "It's not me, it's you," and then they'd claim "This is just therapy."

Which kid are you even talking about? You think this mindset is contagious or something?

Udovac, an author living between two cities, would end up meeting some younger retiree who happens to be a typist.

Dammit, I immediately went there... I mean, you know how it is... let's not air our dirty laundry... specifically those hemorrhoids we mentioned earlier...

I'm satisfied. 😉

A few more sessions like this and you’ll be singing nursery rhymes, dancing with butterflies, and arguing with the girls in the ladies' lounge over which wallpaper looks better. 😁

Experience is everything, and life is good... It's great to see that therapy actually worked for you. Though, I still don't believe you had any taste when it came to picking out those wallpapers.
