I’d just wait out the twenty hours and then head straight to the ER with my test results in hand to tell them I’m in pain. You just have to brace yourself, grab some patience, and sit tight. Once they actually take you back, they’re required to give you a full workup. At least that’s how things work in Seattle.
My company sets up regular wellness screenings—everything from breast exams for the women to prostate checks for the men—but they won't touch vaccinations. To me, that says everything you need to know about their priorities.
I can't give you a direct answer because my own procedure was also laparoscopic, but they ended up doing way more than just removing a cyst.
The truth is, I wouldn't have found out anything if I hadn't personally insisted on having a serious talk and asking a ton of questions during my stitch removal and right before being discharged from the hospital.
After my surgery, they told me to call back in three weeks once the pathology report comes in. If things don't look right, I have to head back in immediately, regardless of when my follow-up was actually scheduled. At least that’s how they handle things here in my city.

Yeah, that’s the truth right there. I’ve had the actual flu exactly one time in my entire life. Just once. But believe me, I’ll never forget it.
