I definitely fell for the consumerist trap and picked up a few things I didn't really need just because the discounts were too good to pass up. On the bright side, I spotted a massive sale on some essentials I actually needed, so I stocked up—I'm counting that as a win. The storefront displays are getting pretty wild lately, though; they're overdoing it with all the tacky clutter. It’s early in the season, but I'm already getting sick of all these nut-themed decorations.
There’s something genuinely great about buying a gift for someone or receiving one. It’s a simple kind of happiness—you see something you like, grab it, and get that instant hit of satisfaction. You don't need to clutter your life with junk just because of consumerist hype, but being overly stingy isn't exactly a luxury either. If you invest in high-quality items, you at least have the option to resell them later. In the US, consumerism is huge, but our purchasing power definitely keeps things interesting.
Thanks 🙂. When I push the plug into the outlet before it's fully seated, the speaker lets out this nasty high-pitched squeal, so I figured I should check it out just to be safe.
I have a USB/3.5mm speaker designed to be powered by a computer, but I’m plugging the USB into a phone charger and into a wall outlet instead, then connecting the 3.5mm jack to my phone to use as an external speaker. It seems to work fine, but is there any risk of frying something? Can I keep using it this way?
This new, super aggressive type of advertising makes it impossible to use Reddit. You can barely read more than a single line, let alone actually write anything. It’s just frustrating and pointless at this point.

Anyone know?
That initial "plan" had me heading in for an X-ray as if I’d broken my arm, which felt totally off to me as a layperson—and sure enough, it was a complete waste of time.
Do you happen to know how hard it is to find a new primary care doctor who will actually follow through with referrals? I'm really looking for someone who will give me a thorough, top-to-bottom checkup. Does anyone have a recommendation? I feel like I won't get anything accomplished with my current doctor; from our very first meeting, I had to fight just to get her attention. All I wanted was a referral to an orthopedic specialist so I could explain my situation, but instead, she just handed me some generic exercises and said, "take some pills when it hurts." 🤦She acts so strange that I honestly feel uncomfortable going back to see her now.
Go see a doctor and hold off on training until you know what's actually going on. If I were in your shoes, I’d ditch the crazy heavy lifting for a bit. If you really feel the need to move, maybe stick to bodyweight stuff; those street workout guys are incredibly strong and built, and I doubt you'll wreck your joints as much as you would with heavy weights. My doctor mentioned during my scan that the gym can be a real hazard, especially when people force movements or use bad form, which just leads to injury.
If you're in Washington, D.C., I know Diagnostic 2000 often has discounts on MRIs, so it ends up being $267 for a single segment scan. They have a General Electric open MRI machine and they get you in and out fast.
Why would you think pull-ups would hurt your neck? I'm talking about standard pull-ups; to me, they seem like an exercise that's way less likely to cause injury compared to heavy weightlifting at the gym.

Just a bunch of guys in tracksuits and sneakers, probably calling each other "bro" every five seconds.🤣
If you aren't both having a blast or feeling genuinely satisfied during an interaction without having to force it, then grabbing coffee is honestly the worst way to hang out. You just end up in a group where everyone is staring at their phones because they're bored with themselves and everyone else, looking around vacantly, or reaching for a drink or a snack just to kill the awkwardness. It usually turns into nothing but gossip or people just saying, "Did you see this video on YouTube?" "
Maybe you need more active ways to socialize—something dynamic instead of just sitting around talking. I personally feel pretty uncomfortable when a hangout is dull 😁 It’s rare to find a circle of friends that doesn't burn out quickly or run out of things to say, though some people actually seem to prefer that same old routine.
You have to be an engaging person yourself to enjoy deep conversations with friends, or the activity itself needs to be interesting enough that you're actually experiencing new things worth talking about later...
Maybe you're just getting tired of all these opinions that don't actually matter—it’s always the same old stories. Are you bored with it all? Is it getting too predictable for you?

Maybe Smarte is actually one of these two security guards:
Wait, why were they even chasing down robbers? What gave them the right?!
Thanks to this thread, I checked out some clips on YouTube, and that scene where he looks out the window to see two skyscrapers collapsing while tied together by a rope is absolutely hilarious.🤣
