This movie feels like one of those polarizing ones—where half the audience will swear it’s a masterpiece while the other half just rolls their eyes because, let’s face it, it’s pretty mindless.

My wife, for instance, is definitely in the eye-rolling camp...😍

If you happen to remember Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure or Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey—and I only have these fuzzy, hazy memories from my younger, more rebellious days, but I’m fairly certain they were classics—this hits a similar note.

(If the producers had actually possessed some guts and hadn't meddled so much in post-production—which was clearly the case here—this could have been an absolute knockout.)

Look, the movie isn't actually stupid. It’s got its funny moments, sure, but honestly? About halfway through, I just kind of checked out—it felt like it ran out of steam and stopped bringing anything new to the table. Also, I should probably mention that Luke Wilson wasn't the only one stuck in ice. There was this other person hanging out with him ( escort ) who's actually a lead character too. ( She was pretty hilarious when she claimed her job involved painting and stuff 🤣 ).

I found the movie pretty mindless... honestly, I didn't even catch any funny parts...

It’s not a bad flick. Honestly, it just depends on your sense of humor. It’s more of that lowbrow, irreverent stuff, similar to Beavis and Butt-Head (the guy who created those characters actually directed this) or South Park. My only real gripe? The movie felt way too short.

It’s an MTV-style flick, completely mindless and naive in its execution, which is precisely why it works—it's a genuine breath of fresh air in a sea of overproduced, polished studio garbage. This thing actually has a soul, serving as a classic throwback to that raw 90s vibe.

You know that kind of signage where the letters just hit the edge of the building and then somehow keep going down the side... 🙏 🙏 🙏

It’s honestly such a shame that a movie this brainless managed to achieve cult status years after its release, especially when there are so many much better films out there that could actually serve as true symbols of Idiocracy. Take Monty Python, for example. Even though they are essentially pure parody, they still hit closer to the mark... 🤷

If I’d caught this when it first dropped, maybe I would've actually found it funny. But looking back now? It just feels like it's trying way too hard to be edgy by leaning on toilet humor that doesn't even go anywhere...

I mean, sure, I cracked up at a few bits here and there. But honestly, those moments were definitely the exception rather than the rule. ☕

The movie had a solid concept, but honestly, the jokes weren't all that funny.

Thanks to this thread, I checked out some clips on YouTube, and that scene where he looks out the window to see two skyscrapers collapsing while tied together by a rope is absolutely hilarious.🤣

Watched this too... the concept is actually great and holds massive potential... but the execution is just incredibly stupid... honestly, the movie sucks.

Back in 2006, it’s like they already knew that by 2020, the USA would be halfway through the exact plot of that film.
The characters in the movie were pretty mild, so they basically just delayed the total insanity by a few years, but if you ask me, we're going to hit that breaking point way sooner.
