Hey everyone

Does anyone know where or who I can see to test for an anesthesia allergy? I’m asking because during some screenings done back when I was enrolling in elementary school, they flagged an allergy to it, or something like that, 🤷 though that was probably 15 or 16 years ago. My mom didn't even bother getting it on my official records since I was dealing with a whole different set of issues at the time.

EDIT: They just told her I was allergic to anesthesia, but they didn't specify which kind. And like I said, with everything else going on back then, she just forgot to ask for details.

If you don't feel like the timing is right to let them in on this, then just don't. Go with your gut and wait until you actually feel ready to deal with the fallout. Or, if talking to them about this feels way too awkward, maybe just catch them off guard. Just look at what @George Ortiz8,@brightranger49 and @James Miller2 did. I guess since you mentioned you weren't exactly close with your parents, that’s why this whole conversation feels so heavy. Whatever the case, you’re 23—there's really nothing to fear here. They'll get it, for goodness' sake. They were young once, too. Honestly, it might even be a relief for them to know you've found someone. Obviously, you aren't going to give them a play-by-play of your dating life; just tell them you have a boyfriend. You get to decide exactly how much you share, especially if they start digging for details. Good luck.🎉
