If we hadn’t lost by two, we’d still be in the mix. We could have even topped the group if DC beat Mexico with the right scoreline. So, we’re looking at the quarterfinals. We need to take down Germany tomorrow, and then potentially beat Spain in the final round to lock in second place. If that happens, the odds would be a breeze—we'd face either Mexico or maybe the hosts, the Netherlands.
USA 9 America 6 Germany 3 Spain 3 Mexico 3 (-1) Romania 0 (-1)
If Mexico pulls an upset against Romania, things are going to get messy. Germany just beat Spain 16:10 today, so we better watch our backs in the next round.

And look, the delegate could be German for all I care; you could have ten delegates from Germany sitting there, but they don't actually control the flow of the game. The only people making the calls are the referees...
A delegate can suggest a call, sure, but they can't dictate how things should go—the refs have every right to either take the suggestion or toss it out. Besides, with the pace of the game being what it is, there's no time for anything else, especially since both refs are constantly communicating through their headsets, which the delegate happens to be hearing too...
Anthony Wilson4 said:Can someone tell me if head-to-head results or goal difference decides who makes the semifinals when points are tied? What happens if we lose to the French and end up tied on points? Who moves on?
If I remember right, it's head-to-head first. But if we beat the Spaniards and then lose to France, they'll probably look at the goal difference between us, France, and Spain.
I don't think Greece is going to have an easy time against North Mexico. Our guys barely scraped by them with a one-point win during the third round of the World League just yesterday.

But I didn't edit my posts. 😁 😉
Such a shame. We looked terrible out there; most of our shots went straight at the keeper. If those Italians hadn't caught wind of things right at the end and we hadn't fallen behind, we definitely could have pulled it off.
Group winners heading into the semifinals. Everything is playing out exactly how people expected. Our guys were incredible today, though that elbow should definitely earn someone a massive fine.
Nicholas Morales48 said:Yeah. 👍 My bad. While we're on the subject, how does tie-breaking actually work in the group stage if teams end up with the same number of points? Is it goal difference, head-to-head results, or just total goal difference excluding the fourth-place team?
Looks like if the head-to-head results are tied—meaning they drew—then it all comes down to total goal difference.
Total disgrace in Los Angeles: They were beating and drowning Joseph Miller, and he had to call it quits once they ripped his glasses off!
The USA Swimming website is where you can find all the details on our swimmers' performances and see who actually hit those World Championship qualifying times.
BTW, we’ll probably get a dedicated thread for water polo later, but since there's still plenty of time before it starts, let's just keep everything here for now.
soundvision said:Your only real option is to get up on the roof and mess with the antenna. Tune it to the channel on MUX D (depending on which part of the country you're in) and rotate it until the signal hits. Then again, if you're in an area where the signal is naturally weak, you really need better gear, starting with the receiver. I don't know what a Strong is like, but Vivax models are usually garbage. In spots where signal issues pop up, it's best to grab a TOPFIELD 4000T for mpeg2 (about $5) or maybe a receiver with a slightly weaker tuner but mpeg4 support—like the Nytrobox 4004T (around $117).
For me, whenever I plug in my Quadro, I can't catch even the MUX B channel; the picture just cuts out and freezes. If I hook up one of those two receivers I mentioned to the exact same antenna, I don't just pick up all the local MUX channels from Washington, D.C., I can even pull in the ones from the neighboring Midwest region... and without any freezing at all. Meanwhile, with the Quadro, I can't even get the Washington, D.C. MUX B... that's how bad the quality is on that receiver. 🤷
Anyway, this guy isn't some clown just talking nonsense. See for yourselves.
