If this wasn't funny, it would be pretty pathetic

For the hundred-and-fortieth time, this isn't about being "honest."

I mean, should we have played our starters against Australia just to crush them by 32 points? It’s supposed to be "sportsmanship" to give everything every single second, even though that's mostly nonsense and just asks for injuries that ruin the rest of the tournament.

Adam Williams2 said:Not sure about this. Goluža clearly wanted the win; you could see it on him. He sent that little mandarin kid in, then the kid messes up once—literally immediately—and he’s out. If that's what they call "giving the youth a chance," then their coaching approach is garbage. I don't think he would've played it that way if he was actually playing the long game...

He just wanted to win, period.😬

Did you see how much Duvnjak hesitated before passing during that last Vorijev goal? We're down a man, Vori is right there on the line, and this guy just stares at him before finally making the pass. Vori takes the ball slow, turns, and scores, then looks back at the bench on the way back and shouts something. Our defense has never moved like we did during that last attack when that bald guy hit the post. And I'm not convinced Goluža called that timeout by accident either.

Don't you guys get that there’s absolutely nothing to celebrate here?

You're celebrating just because we weren't quite as dirty as they were. It was obvious from the start that we weren't playing for the win—we were just scraping by for a draw. All this did was hand them the victory, give us a brutal draw, burn through our roster, and end up with an injury to Štrlek. If we had at least played the final stretch with some actual intent, fine. But we were sloppy too; they just happened to be better at being sloppy than we were.

Jeremy Phillips54 said:LONDON -- Eight female badminton doubles players were disqualified Wednesday from the London Olympics after trying to lose matches to receive a more favorable place in the tournament.

The badminton World Federation announced its ruling after investigating two teams from South Korea and one each from China and Indonesia. It punished them for "not using one's best efforts to win a match" and "conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport" in matches Tuesday night.

Like I said, I'd kick the whole Spanish squad out of the tournament myself.

Meanwhile, we were busting our asses just to get a win. Goluža calls THAT while we're scoring, Vori pulls off those insane lobs, Duvnjak refuses to pass to Vori for five straight minutes... you name it.

To all you losers claiming we're idiots or getting played: you're just a bunch of cowards terrified of the French. You'd rather hand them the win than watch us lose on purpose because you're scared of France. Should we have avoided them last year after we beat them?

Screw you guys.

Prika, the point isn't about letting them play.

The point is we could've rested the players today. We basically would've entered the second round totally fresh since the games against Australia and Algeria were just warm-ups, and we didn't grind through bloodbaths against Egypt and Canada either. Instead, we lost Strlek, Lackovic is out indefinitely, there's talk about the Cop being sidelined too, and Balic is stuck in the stands. Now we're left starting Lovro Šprem. Props to the kid, but he's not enough against France. If we had lost, we'd have saved our strength and kept Strlek for an easier schedule. Use your heads.

Another fifth-place finish.
Seriously, what the hell are we even doing here? Start bringing in more Daniel Cooper40 and Ivić.
Play it out 🙂
The Belarusians are already up by 13 on AT&T and have basically locked it in. Does anyone know how much Rutenka has dumped so far?

The thread's back, but I had to axe about 20 posts. Euskal and jadeskipper74, you're both getting 10 points for off-topic spam. Consider this a warning—next time, it’s a ban. You guys know you went way too far and completely derailed the conversation.

Fine 😉
If nobody else is planning on it, I'll start a thread for the Belupo vs. Bilbao match by Tuesday morning at the latest.

Just wanted to weigh in and say I'm on board. We're talking this out, and honestly, I think we're heading in the right direction 🙂

Does any sportsbook out there still offer bets on the league's top scorer? After today's game, I might actually consider putting some money down on Mandžukić to stay at the top of the list, but I'm wondering if that market is even still open.

We're hosting the Olympic qualification tournament 🙂
Celebrating 10 😁
frozentiger6 said:So, am I not allowed to say that the American handball players looked like absolute cowards last night?

Quoting you:

Absolute cowards. Total losers.

What would this forum even look like if everyone started talking like this? It would be a disaster. EoD 😉

You can be somewhat cultured and civilized about it.
