Whenever I’m working on a formula in Microsoft Word, I run into this issue. If I want to write x², I don't want it to look like x times two; I need that little number sitting right underneath the x—the subscript version, not the exponent.
...So, what's the fix here?

The same thing happens when I'm dealing with a summation symbol. I need to place things like n = 1, 2... m directly above the sigma.
