Ed Gein sentenced in Psychology ·
Sandra Parker3 said:Give me that definition—the actual medical one, not some hearsay version. I need the officially recognized one.

Look, you really need to distinguish between being a monster physically and being one psychologically.

A three-headed monster isn't going to cause any trouble, but you can never really trust a one-headed freak.

I don't know what you're even talking about at this hour.

Let's assume we're talking about psychological monsters. Are you actually using "monster" to mean "evil person"?!
Are you suggesting Ed Gein is an evil man (because he seems perfectly normal!?) while others aren't considered evil just because they aren't "normal"—even if they could kill or rape, which they probably have?🤷

Intellectual disabilities and various disorders are mental illnesses. I doubt any of them truly grasp what they are doing.☕

Sandra Parker3 said:you might be talking about people with severe intellectual disabilities here

so why on earth would anyone call them monsters?

in this specific case, it was stated that he was (or is) perfectly fine intellectually

likely a profound impairment

so why call him a monster? if that's the case, then how does one even apply the medical definition?🤷

No, what exactly were you looking at? Those aren't monsters. It’s performance art—actual art, if you take a second to look closer—especially when those guys in the suits don't look half bad.🤷

I find it hard to believe that Canada offers such a rich cultural and arts programming.🤣

Sandra Parker3 said:it can only be described as human

but you really only use that term when there isn't some other specific label you can pin on someone, since everyone gets so worked up that they just throw out a heavy word to settle the matter, I guess.

Hmm. But from what I saw, those people looked like an absolute nightmare. They were screaming for votes like rabid animals, completely lost. Honestly, watching it made me physically ill. WTF... do they even possess basic human emotions? What makes them human?

I honestly have no idea what a "monster" actually is. Can someone explain it to me? I can't even find a clear definition online.

I remember once walking past this certain institution where there were these distorted, deformed people wandering through the garden, screaming and wailing...😱
During the war, everyone fled that facility and ran through the streets completely naked.🤷

It isn't about being intellectually disabled or having some specific disorder or illness. My mother used to call them "monsters"—and later, a relative of mine studying medicine said the same thing. I still don't quite grasp what that term actually implies. Most people just are, I suppose.🤷😕😂

What’s your take? What kind of psychological breakdown drives someone to commit something like that?

GPL☕

amberraven9 said:My mom is 51 and she’s had a rough go of it. She isn't working right now. Lately, she’s just completely withdrawn. She doesn't socialize, stays away from her old friends, and rarely leaves the house unless it’s for basic groceries. I try my best to be there for her—to talk, to get her out of the house—but I’m starting to wonder if I’m actually making things worse. It feels like she’s leaning on me so heavily that she doesn't feel the need to connect with anyone else, except for our daily walks. Honestly, it’s becoming a weight on me. I just want her to actually enjoy life again, to see her friends like she used to, and to get out more. I’ve tried talking to her about it, but she always has some excuse for why she won't call someone, why she won't grab coffee, or why she can't go out. I don't know if this is just a phase, but it’s been going on for quite a while now. Am I doing something wrong here? Is this behavior even **normal**??

It's perfectly normal. I'm 21 and I act the exact same way. The difference is I'm going through puberty while she's going through menopause. It's just a phase.☕

Perhaps they have the password🙄

Maybe she was right on the money.

I don't know. I've been dealing with this crap for months now. Looking for a new apartment.

Not sure yet. Might just grab a beer and go blow off some steam.🙄

Patrick Johnson8 said:Can we get a little insight here? Why exactly are her fingers grossing you out on your stylus... are you worried she was snacking on some greasy bacon cheeseburger over it?

Because they're sweaty. And because some idiot keeps slamming the keys with them. She can't even close a door properly without waking me up. Hypocritical, selfish, and just plain oblivious.☕

It’s all just technology and sensors, I suppose. And she’s going to keep hovering over my laptop with those clumsy fingers of hers. Some keys are already sticking. I’m about ready to smash this thing. Absolute idiot.

Thomas Walker13 said:I don't see anything smart about Facebook... I've tried AOL Instant Messenger and plenty of other social tools to stay connected, and they were all fine, but this Facebook thing is just incredibly stupid.

Honestly, it bugs me how much she's on Facebook. But I suppose that's better than having to listen to her obnoxious, shrill voice!!!

I don't know. Certain things just get under my skin because they aren't right, but I suppose I've always been a bit of an outlier myself.☕

rowdybadger11 said:Pretty intense, right? Honestly, I’m wondering if you went with a triple post just to force eyes on your thread or to bait an argument. Should someone have been touching your laptop? If not, why didn't you just put a password on your screensaver so people couldn't mess with your computer?

EDIT: Now you've hit five posts...

She has absolutely no right. She enters my room, and she definitely shouldn't be touching my laptop. 🙄

My apologies.☕

Absolute moron. Can they just shut up for five minutes? I can't stand people who won't stop rambling nonsense. Honestly, what is the point of some people existing on this planet? Just pure stupidity.
