Do you guys actually eat healthy? in Health ·
I make sure to hit all three food groups at specific intervals during every meal.
Breakfast, lunch, a little snack, then dinner before hitting the hay. That's the routine.
My weight's been rock solid for two years now—no bouncing back and forth.
Used to eat just once a day, and man, I could never get full enough.

bluecobra522 said:Alright, so here’s the deal. I'm 23, standing at about 6 feet, and I'm hovering around 130 lbs... which is way too light. I need to know how to actually pack on some weight—what should I be eating, how often, and what's the move? Also, will tossing some protein powder into the mix actually make the food count for more and help me bulk up faster? Just a heads-up: I have zero interest in hitting the gym or looking like a fitness model. Every time I step foot in a gym, I just sweat more and end up even skinnier because my metabolism is basically a furnace -.- So, I just want to know what good stuff I can eat, how many meals a day I need, and if proteins (and which ones) will actually help. Thanks. 🙂

Think about sumo wrestlers. To pack on mass—mostly fat, really—they crush huge amounts of rice every day, like 10 pounds or more.
But man, their livers take a massive hit because of it.
They definitely get big, though....

I did some digging into the zone diet and it looks great on paper, but I’m worried most people can't actually pull it off. For example, I only cook at home maybe four times a week; the rest of the time I'm stuck relying on bakeries or the college cafeteria, and you really can't put together a meal there that fits the zone guidelines—even if you take them super "liberally." It's easy to call someone an idiot when you have no clue what their daily grind actually looks like.

Sears messed up by not making the recipes simpler,
like any classic diet would, but that's why you gotta learn how to eat, since it isn't even a diet.
People love mindless dieting, but eating with actual knowledge and logic isn't "in" right now.
I eat out all the time too—sandwiches, pizza, whatever. But even that works within the zone if, say, you ditch the top bun on a sandwich
or leave the crust on the pizza
and skip the Coke, beer, or wine for some sparkling water.

Loluuu, go talk to chihuahua; she’s got hair down to her shoulders and nails to...???

Yeah, you're right. It’s way easier for people to just follow some rigid recipe instead of actually learning how to eat.
It's always the same tired advice: "eat this, don't touch that," "just drink water," "don't mix certain foods"...
just a bunch of nonsense.
Then they act surprised when their nails start cracking and their hair starts thinning.
So, what are you doing, hanging out in the forum zone or just buzzing around the Health section?

The zone is the real deal... it's definitely not some fad diet.
People overthink it and make it way too complicated, but honestly, it’s just a simple way of eating you can stick to for years.
Even small slip-ups aren't a big deal—like hitting the buffet during the holidays.
Doctors should probably build a monument to Search, but they're too stuck up to admit they don't have all the answers. Instead, they just push pills because Big Pharma needs that profit.

Come on, Zone crew, show the forum zone what this is all about...
Cold feet? in Health ·
Kimberly Scott12 said:I’ve got this issue with cold feet. It’s not a huge deal day-to-day, but when I go skiing, things get messy. Everything feels fine for the first hour or two, then my feet just freeze up—specifically my toes. I try layering up with tons of socks, like several thin pairs or maybe one thick pair, or I’ll duck inside somewhere, take off my ski boots, and try rubbing my feet to get the blood moving. Once they thaw out a bit, I head back out, but thirty minutes later, it’s unbearable again. Honestly, just thinking about skiing gives me anxiety because I know my toes are going to freeze. Any advice?
Someone told me to wrap my feet in newspaper and plastic wrap before putting on my boots, and suggested taking circulation pills or something.
I was thinking about buying those gel packs from the drugstore—the ones in clear bags with blue jelly inside that you usually keep in the freezer for injuries. Maybe I could leave one on the radiator overnight and pop it in my boots while skiing? But someone mentioned they lose heat too fast for that to work.
Are there any heating pads, warm inserts, or anything like that?
Anyone got ideas?

I'm guessing those boots are getting too tight with all those layers, which is cutting off your circulation. Try just wearing one pair of socks... skiing is actually great exercise for circulation anyway.
Acupuncture and weight loss in Health ·
brightmarlin44 said:Anyone know how much this stuff costs? I've decided to drop maybe 10-15 lbs starting January 1st, but I want to try acupuncture. I remember some college friends using it a few years back and having zero issues.😲 Since I'm a big eater, this might actually work for me.👍

Best acupuncture is someone poking you in the arm every time you reach for a snack... just kidding... but honestly, might actually work.
My advice? Read the book life in zone and stop worrying about losing weight—just learn how to eat properly. I read it 18 months ago, dropped 30 lbs, and haven't gained it back because I stick to the rules.
And don't get me started on "healthy food"—that's basically a myth. You can eat anything, you just have to eat it the right way. Avoid those herbal supplement scams too; they just sell you overpriced powders for profit, and you don't actually learn any habits. They take your money for a few months, but nobody checks if your bloodwork is actually okay afterward. The goal isn't just shedding pounds; it's getting your blood stats right before you start any diet, then checking them after.
Long story short... just go with the zone.

You keep bringing up the Herbalife zone... but honestly, it looks like you didn't read the fine print or you just don't get it. You dropped 18 pounds, sure, but you haven't learned a thing. Now you're just walking straight into being naive in the world of the food tycoon, HL, and all that.
