Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
Apparently, they have to slice open the base of your nose—right between the nostrils, down near the lip—and pull the skin up toward the top. It’s basically like trying to peel off a tight t-shirt, stretching all the way up toward your eyes.
I guess it sounds way more intense than those sanitized little photos of people just sitting there with bandages on.
Penis bumps: what are they? in Health ·
You can find stuff like this over at Mayo Clinic's site under the skin and sexual health section, I guess.

Hey shadowgardener12, this is all I could find regarding that Mayo Clinic place and their whole iris diagnosis thing—checking eyes and all that.

So... nothing? Not even a single person? 😢

shadowgardener12 said:It can actually help. It worked for my gastritis when all the standard meds failed me. Honestly, forget the chemicals—just stick to nature.

Shadow, could you pass along the info for that homeopath who helped you?
Hopefully you'll see my request... since you won't answer DMs.

If anyone else has had experiences—good or bad—let me know.

I'm just hoping this doesn't turn into another one of those endless debates about homeopathy versus modern medicine...
Is tap water safe to drink? in Health ·
The water at my place is loaded with limescale and those red deposits—I had no idea it was actually from lead issues.
I don't touch the tap water here, and honestly, I’m pretty jealous of everyone who doesn't have to deal with all that red crap in their pipes 😢
btw, for those of you who buy bottled water, what brands are you actually drinking? I mostly just look at the price tag and go for whatever's cheapest.

Austin Sanders7 said:..yeah, there’s a lot of stuff in Germany that eventually makes its way over here to the US a few years later... but what about that cream? Are you allowed to use it constantly, or do you have to take breaks too? And what kind of bacteria are we talking about? You think that could be a possible reason?

The cream my doctor prescribed—Aknemycin—is actually from Germany.
I should be getting it sometime this week. I'm supposed to apply it every night, then just use an Avène moisturizer in the morning.

Helicobacter is a bacterium that lives in the stomach—it usually causes gastritis or ulcers. I didn't realize it could show up like this. But nothing is confirmed for me yet, so I won't say anything for sure.
And obviously, if you're taking antibiotics, it means there's some kind of bacteria involved, I guess.

Did a dermatologist actually prescribe that antibiotic for you? I’ve honestly never heard of it before.
Right now, she just gave me this antibiotic cream—haven't even started using it yet..
I don't know... maybe you should check if you have that H. pylori bacteria in your stomach? I'm waiting on my own test results for that, so I can let you know how things look on my end once they come back..

Austin Sanders7 said:..uh..I don't think it's a diet thing—I don't eat much greasy food, stay hydrated, eat once a day, just fruit in the evenings. I've got one of those smart scales: I'm at 15% body fat and 65% water, which I guess is about as good as it gets for a 25-year-old.. The thing is, when I'm out in the cold and come back inside to the heat, my face just starts burning—redness that lasts forever.. like my skin can't breathe. Same thing after a shower—face stays red and stings a bit. But shaving is the worst. My skin gets so irritated, and honestly, no gel or balm seems to calm it down.. the inflammation sticks around for three days, face is constantly red with all these little spots. It’s almost like the irritation hits right when the stubble starts growing, because once it gets a bit longer, everything settles down—no stinging, less redness, basically normal.. so I only shave once a week. By the time things clear up, it's almost time to shave again, and then it's back to square one... and no, don't tell me to stop shaving... I've already tried the aloe and chamomile stuff (without sage), and it didn't really do much... where would I even find sage? At a CVS or something? And that wheat germ oil? What's that actually supposed to do?........t h a n k s !

I deal with something similar, except I'm female and don't shave, so I don't get that specific kind of irritation.
Last winter I started getting these red spots—pimples and stuff—then it cleared up toward the summer (beach, sun, whatever), and now it's acting up again..
I use Aveeno products since my dermatologist recommended them, but now I'm going to try an antibiotic cream I'm waiting for in the mail.
Which antibiotics were you taking, and for how long?
Anyone here actually dealt with Yasmin before?
Oily hair struggles in Health ·
You really shouldn't wash your hair all the time—once or twice a week is probably plenty.
That’s what those specialists told me when I had my hair checked out a few years back.
I mean, obviously, walking around with greasy hair is gross, but I guess the more you wash it, the more your scalp just pumps out oil to compensate.
We girls have it easier, though—we can just tie it back in a ponytail and call it a day.🙂

So, I messed up again yesterday...😠
Two pieces of charcoal and I'm fine—usually. That day, I just had some dry toast and tea, mostly chamomile, no sugar.

The worst part is when those cramps hit—I honestly don't know where to turn with the pain😢
No one's around, and I can't sleep... in Health ·
Maybe you just had a bit of a brain fog moment and slept right through everything.
I mean, I once pulled a solid 17-hour sleep session out of nowhere—not that I'm complaining, I love my sleep.🙂

I don't know—maybe they gave you some kind of sedative or something in your IV?
Breast reduction surgery: experiences and advice? in Women's Health ·
Since we’re already talking about complications—is it actually more of a headache to go smaller or bigger?
Breast reduction surgery: experiences and advice? in Women's Health ·
Well, looks like we're back to the same old arguments from that "breast enlargement" thread.
Everyone’s got an opinion—I guess—but I doubt any of this nonsense is actually going to help a girl out here.
Just go see a doctor instead.
If I get less than eight hours—I’m basically a zombie. I need my sleep, honestly... I love catching up on naps whenever I can. It sucks having to drag myself out of bed by 7:00 AM every morning! I guess I'm just counting down the days until the weekend so I can finally crash.
