I just watched it. Honestly, I loved it—I don't really buy the argument that the pacing felt all over the place... Though, if they wanted to truly complete the picture, they probably should have touched on the whole pedophilia aspect too, but even as it stands, it's top-tier. 😁
I thought the movie was absolutely fantastic—so much so that I actually started a thread about it over on Ljes, but honestly, people just don't seem to get what makes it so special...
Finally got around to watching it. The movie was pretty decent—though they definitely fumbled the ending during those last 15 minutes... It felt like she was sacrificing herself at the end for someone standing next to that guy who can turn everything to ice. A bit too much unnecessary melodrama right at the finish, but overall it’s a fun watch and worth checking out...
I think the pacing is actually spot on—nothing wrong with it at all. Different people just find different things funny, right? Like I said, the movie is just loaded with irony.
redowl90, if you’ve got nothing better to do, go catch it at the theater...
If you’re a fan of irony, this one is definitely calling your name—I thought it was fantastic. I feel like Clooney really nailed the tone here... it’s just packed with great scenes and some genuinely funny moments. That ending where they're mixing up the salt? So good—honestly, it's been a long time since a movie finale hit me that well. Has anyone else caught this yet? I'd love to hear what you all thought...
As for me, the ending was totally fine—honestly... nobody really brought up the cinematography, but I thought the camera work was great. For me, the movie’s a solid 5.👍
Kenneth Hernandez67 said:I feel silly even typing this since nobody seems to be taking me seriously... honestly, just popping some Advil and using a heating pad works wonders. Lying down is way better than any exercise.
Once the cramps actually kick in, nothing helps more than just staying in bed—forget the core workouts. You really have to get your exercise in *before* your period starts...
Back when I was really getting into those Latin dance classes—you know, all that hip movement—my pains totally vanished, even the nausea... I’m convinced it’s all in how you move your hips. Once I stopped, everything came rushing back, so I definitely need to clear some space in my schedule to get back out there. 😢 If you can swing it, sign up for a salsa course. It really does work... 👍
Of course I agree. The movie is flawless... And what's wrong with the critic? They just don't see eye to eye with you? 😁 People can love a film or hate it—that's fine—but seeing this kind of ignorance from your side regarding a movie you clearly haven't even watched is pretty concerning...
I think my take is pretty much summarized by this local magazine's review of the movie. Check it out:
"Watching this flick is about as fun as sitting on a sharp screwdriver. It's based around the character of Frank Abagnale (Leonardo DiCaprio), whose character description involves the character description. Fortunately, Leo witnesses her infidelities, and the chaos ramps up when the walking pater (Christopher Walken) gets caught stealing from his bosses. Our protagonist heroically decides to pivot into check fraud to settle his old man's debts—which basically sets the stage for director Steven Spielberg to lean hard into every single American cliché imaginable. Leo spends the film flirting with women and playing fools with the bumbling police force, led by the chief idiot played by Tom Hanks. Honestly, the whole thing drags so much that any sensible viewer will just be sitting there for two hours wishing Leo would finally get caught so we could all just head home." 😁 😁
