Some might remember the successful charity drive organized by the Dinamo fan club from Appalachia for the Pelesk family in Pustodol a few years back. Well, we’ve decided to step up once again, trying to make Christmas a little brighter for another hardworking family out in the sticks.
The original plan was to run a public fundraiser for cash and household essentials—kind of like a standard community drive—but since the parents really wanted to shield their kids from the spotlight, we changed tactics. We’re helping this humble, incredibly resilient, and genuinely good family discreetly, without putting their names in the headlines.
Here is the situation: you have a father living on disability, a mother who stays home to provide around-the-clock care for her seriously ill daughter, and a hardworking high schooler. It’s a heavy story. The girl, who is ten now, was born with developmental challenges and requires constant attention. For years, her mother has been fighting an uphill battle against the bureaucracy just to get recognized as a full-time caregiver. Anyone who meets the mother can see her grit; she is relentless when it comes to her daughter’s progress. Despite doctors saying the girl might never walk, hours of daily physical therapy have yielded incredible results. Through sheer willpower, they manage to maintain some semblance of a normal life. The father used to be the provider, but he suffered a major workplace accident six years ago. He barely survived a massive coma after sustaining severe head and spinal injuries, leaving him unable to work. Since then, the family has been scraping by on $833 disability checks and child benefits. They live in a remote part of Appalachia, making simple trips to the grocery store, the doctor, or school a real struggle. Their home is modest and tidy, but there’s a catch—it sits on a landslide zone, and a crack has formed in one of the walls, large enough to let the daylight peek through.
Every single day, these parents fight to give their children a decent life and a shot at a better future. Since Dinamo fans live by the motto "NEVER GIVE UP," we’re asking you to show that same spirit for people who truly need it. You can help with money, food, clothes, household supplies, or even small items donated from the heart, just so this family of four can experience a slightly more peaceful Christmas.
